  1. Good Morning, Everyone…🔨 HE NAILED IT! 🔨

    🎶If I had a HAMMER, I’d HAMMER in the morning…🎶…”If I Had A Hammer” – Trini Lopez 1963  https://tinyurl.com/27ttfs5f

🔨 Tools were his GUILTY pleasure, beyond his use for work,
He definitely found his niche our guy…who goes by name of Dirk…
(But PANDA doesn’t fit today…I state in black and white,
And LASSO’s not great either…trust me, “knot’ worth the fight)
So back to Dirk and his hammer, he’s up to make the deal…
He used to be a HERMIT…but now he’s def TOUGH AS NAILS…🔨

Yes, Dirk was a hermit at one time…HAMMERed down with depression…but he’s doing a BANG up job now…SEAMS his doctor finally HIT on the right medication…

So…Today…A hardware store where we see a carpenter, Dirk, in the market for a new hammer. And we hear the salesman, Peter O’TOOL, telling him about the H-2000….That while it may be expensive, it’s PEEN rated top NOTCH and it comes with a lifetime guarantee…Let’s face it, Folks…you can’t BEAT that…And considering it all, Dirk realizes that despite the BLOW to his MALLET…oh, sorry, typo…I meant wallet…it WOOD be foolish not to make such a wise investment…Since this hammer? …TOUGH AS NAILS*…And with nothing STUDding in our way…we’ve HAMMERed home another easy, breezy one…

Jeff’s💎Gems? That might be a tape measure on Dirk’s belt… but the LONG and SHORT of it is that I can’t make it out all that well… And Dirk’s DUCK waist apron? It’s loaded DOWN with nails…I guess he wants to make sure they’ll be handy in a PINCH…

So…There you have it, Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of my friend, a Southerner, who while working as a carpenter, witnessed an error on a job. SEAMS someone had cut through the wrong  beam, but the homeowners were trying to PIN it on him,  and looked to sue. Dragged into court, he was being HAMMERED by their lawyer, and AWL-though he tried to stay at his LEVEL best, he had finally had enough…So he said, “Hey, listen…I know what I SAW, and Y’AWL trying to make me out to be the bad guy…WALL it ain’t gonna fly”…SEAMS he NAILED it though…because the judge easily CUT him a break…Guess it just goes to show… the truth wins out…PLANE and simple…And court was dismissed so quickly, my friend had time to enjoy some breakfast with his WISE ADVISERS….And they all enjoyed some SAW SAGES and eggs…🔨🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 📕 The children’s story about the GUILTY HERMIT PANDA made a point of saying that he was as TOUGH AS NAILS…and an expert with a LASSO…📕

📗 The children read ‘bout HERMIT crabs, and a PANDA from China,
And all about a GUILTY goat…who lived in Carolina
…A cowboy with a LASSO, whose rope skill never fails…
And lastly ‘bout a grizzly bear who they dubbed TOUGH AS NAILS…📕

  3. 🔨Men who work with their hands every day,
Of course want the easiest way…
And with tools of top botch,
There’ll be less chance to botch…
What’s done to ensure their payday…🔨

👍🏻Tools had always been liked by our Dirk,
But there was a time he didn’t work…
    ‘Cause depression crept in,
    Put him in a tailspin…
But then luckily there was a perk…👍🏻

👏🏻👏🏻 He decided that carpentry might,
Be the best thing for him to gain flight…
So he gave it a shot,
And with word of mouth got…
Enough work to end the old plight…👏🏻👏🏻

🔨But he needed tools that would be best,
Making sure he was up to the test…
    So we find him today,
    Listening to Pete say…
“This tool will put your mind to rest…🔨

👍🏻…Since this hammer will definitely be,
    An investment for eternity…
    Yes, it’s pricey for sure,
    But you’ll never have more…
Need to buy with this here guarantee”! 👍🏻

  5. I’m gonna have just a little bit of tacos ! I got all the anagrams , but it was said yesterday on the jumble it was easy but had to look , and I am annoyed that I didn’t see it ! I’m disappointed in myself , so I’m gonna be strong for the rest of the week and push hard to get them ! Your song Angela is one of my favorites and it is so good ! I’m singing in my head right now while I type ! I’m just gonna have some ready and really try hard tomorrow and the rest of the week ! Thank you Angela for all your information! Let’s have a great taco-Tuesday !

    • YW, Jim…and Tk you. But don’t be so hard on yourself…it’s just a game. And I keep telling you…without waiting for the cartoon and the dialogue, you’re doing yourself a disservice…🔨🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. A little to cryptic for a blind solve this morning, and then I had to stumble on HERMIT for a moment or two. When faced with anagram letters, I pondered for a few minutes….then pondered some more, and absolutely nothing HIT/STRUCK me !!! So, gave it all up and checked Angela’s interesting post. Like Jim, oh well…tomorrow will be a better day for sure. As for the song, I remember the folk song days very well. Nice choice. Terry

  7. If I had a Hammer LOL. This was a Tough one today but I stuck with it and got through it all without looking up the answers. Thank you for your post Angela. Have a great day. Stan

  8. If not for a blind solve, I wouldn’t have gotten the anagrams. Hermit handcuffed me. I was putting the “th ” together. In the end, I needed the h, i and t which allowed me to figure out hermit. Funny how the brain works (or doesn’t work) sometimes Steve from Toronto.

  9. Dropped the hammer on my foot. Got the anagrams but not the answer.

Would you please eliminate the “None of the above” category? Especially the ones that cry “Make it harder! Make it harder!” when over half of those doing the Jumble coudn’t get the solution. That’s just insulting and makes the Jumbler feel stupid.

  10. We once had a neighbour called Cameron,

Who liked nothing better than hammerin’

    With projects in hand

    ‘Twas easy to understand

Why we just called him Hammerin’ Cameron!

Hammerin’ Cameron and his family were great neighbours despite the constant hammering! Yes, this is a true story.

    Helen

    • 🔨A good neighbor’s a blessing for sure,
One you’d welcome to come to your door…
      But the hammering kind?
      Can definitely unwind…
      Whatever bond you’ve had before…🔨

🤷🏻‍♀️…But if hammering’s the only flaw,
Then of course it’s best just to endure…
      The occasional noise,
      (Since boys will be boys)…
And just try your best to ignore! 🤷🏻‍♀️

      • And we did ignore. Many years later when we told the Cameron family about the name Hammerin’ Cameron, they roared with laughter!

        Helen

  11. I thought the answer was pretty easy, but I guess most people didn’t.

Angela, although I liked the song you selected, I prefer the Pete Seeger version.
