  1. Happy Monday everyone! Today is one of those rare occasions where the first day of the new month begins on a Monday. The only other time that it’ll happen again this year is in November. After that, you’ll have to wait until Monday August 1st, 2022 before you have the opportunity to experience it again. By how bad traffic is snarled in today’s cartoon, I’m pretty sure the impatient couple will still be there waiting to take their exit!

There weren’t any new clue words to be had this morning. Two of the anagrams just happened to be so we weren’t left completely empty-handed. TRYIGT is the only one that I didn’t initially see right away. It looked like TRYING before I combined the T’s to reveal GRITTY. After the solve, I noticed that David had neatly arranged all of the Jumbles in alphabetical order. This is the only the second time he’s done it this year, with the M*A*S*H themed cartoon of 1/21/21 being the other one. And for those of you at home keeping track, he’s also arranged them in reverse alphabetical order twice this year. Once on 1/2/21, and again a few days later on 1/7.

This middle-aged couple has no other choice but to hurry up and wait for traffic to smooth out. The sign indicates that the exit for JUMBLETOWN is coming up around the bend, but with a total of 10 vehicles in front of them, their wait must feel like an eternity. A little music would definitely help pass the time. The only problem is that their convertible doesn’t seem to have a radio. Nor does it have a glovebox, heating/cooling buttons or manual/power windows. It must be a clunker because even the headrests are shaped differently! My favorite detail ended up being the oval shaped rivet on the gentleman’s glasses. And not to be overlooked was the windswept appearance of their hair from riding in a convertible.

The final solve was an anagram consisting of seven letters. It contained two vowels and five consonants. The length of the anagram was its downfall with the double F’s bringing OFF immediately into view. TURN was plucked from the remainder to easily seal the deal. Have a great start to your week, and keep Jumbling!

  3. Give me a nudge if I flaunt my gritty climb to the focal point, but I had no mental traffic jams today. Hope that’s not a turnoff.

  4. Good morning. We knew what day it was today from our normal easy jumble to start the week. Today was no different. Breezed through the words and cartoon. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

  5. Good Morning, Everyone. I hope this finds you well….🙋🏻‍♀️

🚘 With his FOCAL point being to FLAUNT his ability to remember all the words to the song by the Nitty GRITTY Dirt Band playing on the radio, she had to NUDGE him just in time to make the TURNOFF…🚘

🤦🏻‍♂️ The park was dim and GRITTY, and he def needed a NUDGE,
She knew that he was still upset, the man could hold a grudge…
Not one to FLAUNT displeasure, but his FOCAL point had been,
To keep the place much neater…and this was to him quite grim…
Needless to say the park’s a mess, so sure she knew he’d scoff
    It wasn’t what he thought he’d find…No, this was a TURNOFF…🤦🏻‍♂️

Happy First Day of March! 💐🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. YAY! A new month, a fresh start. Not much to say about the J today except I failed FOCAL and used to use a microscope when I worked…. The cartoon looks like SoCal freeways in the pre-pandemic era. Easy breezy Monday the 1st of March. Interesting info from Mike (aren’t you out of town this week?) and Angela. A new vaccine is shipping so things seem to be improving.
    Until the morrow!

  7. Hi all – FLAUNT wasn’t a Monday-type word for me; took a few tries to see it.
The double letter trick showed GRITTY right away, but this may be a record, where the UN trick didn’t apply to two words (FLAUNT and NUDGE) and the answer. Had to write the letters to see the answer.

    Good wishes to everyone.

“With the FOCAL point of their entertainment being a mascot named GRITTY, the Philadelphia Flyers don’t need a NUDGE to FLAUNT their blue-collar work ethic.”

    • You’re probably correct about it being some sort of record, Steve! Nice catch on noticing the UN in the final solve too. 🙂

  8. Good morning. I’ll give this a try once again. At the scene of the crime the Gritty detective did Flaunt his badge and began to Nudge the remaining people to place their Focal point on just the criminals at large. Take care.

  9. No speed bumps here this morning – easy breezy Monday puzzle. Hope it’s a good one for all of you.

  10. OMG! In March of 1964 I did a road trip with 4 friends. Beginning in Rome, Italy, we rented a Opel. Unfortunately it was a stick and only myself and the 2 guys could drive it. We tried the Autostrada (Italy) once and were totally terrified- ended up only going on back roads! Covered most of Western Europe returning home in May. Lots of good memories. Ann
