CARTOON ANSWER:

WHEN THE TOWN NEEDED TO MAKE BIG PURCHASES, IT HAD TO BE HANDLED —

BICUTYOMEEMT = “BUY” COMMITTEE

Happy Tuesday my friends!  What a fun puzzle we had this morning with a good mix of old and new clue words.  CHROME would be my pick for the most difficult word followed by EXEMPT.  I didn’t run into any roadblocks this morning so it was clear sailing to the cartoon.  After writing down my clue letters and staring at them for a moment, BUY jumped right out at me.  I figured out COMMITTEE in a flash to complete the pun and for the finish.  The cartoon looked bland — exactly the way I’d expect a town committee room to look — great job Jeff!  Take care and I’ll see you tomorrow!  😀

KIDYN = DINKY

ZOYDO = DOOZY

KAHNES = SHAKEN

GOLANO = LAGOON

CARTOON ANSWER:

WHEN IT CAME TO LEARNING SIGN LANGUAGE, THE STUDENT WAS —

DINDOOSHNAG = IN GOOD HANDS

Good morning everyone and happy Monday!  LAGOON was the only word that gave me pause this morning and would be my pick for the trickiest of the quartet.  With all of the clue words solved it was straight to the cartoon.  After reading the cartoon sentence, I wrote down SIGN and HAND leaving me with DOO.  I knew one of them was wrong as I needed a five letter word.  I started by re-jumbling SIGN and DOO and noticed GOOD immediately.  IN was obviously the two letter word and I added the S to HANDS for the finish.  It could have been a major headache if I had started by jumbling HAND and DOO but luck was on my side this morning.  I’m curious if anyone else came up with SIGN and HAND right from the start, and if so, how you managed to solve it.  Have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow!  😀👍🏻

Happy Sunday everyone!  DEFUSE was the only clue word that gave me some trouble.  With all of the words figured out it was on to the cartoon.  When I read “knocking out” I knew immediately that the answer would have PUNCH in it.  I went with AS for the two letter word and PLEASED was right there for the finish.  Have a super day and I’ll see you bright and early tomorrow morning!

Good Saturday morning my friends!  Yesterday’s puzzle broke all records for this site and now reigns supreme as the most viewed post.  Today’s puzzle was a rather quick one for me with all clue words coming into view instantly.  The cartoon was well drawn and was a quick solve as well giving us a very funny pun.  I hope you have a great weekend and let us know if you have any big plans in the comments.  See you tomorrow!  😀

CARTOON ANSWER:

WHEN IT CAME TO WHETHER WORMS OR LURES ATTRACT MORE FISH, IT WAS —

BTLAEBEIAD = “DE-BAIT-ABLE”

Good Thursday morning everyone!  The clue words weren’t overly difficult and I managed to get through them rather quickly without any trouble.  I don’t recall seeing them before so it was refreshing to have new ones.  Moving on to the cartoon, I tried to solve it without the help of the clue letters and all I could come up with was BAIT as one of the four letter words.  As soon as I wrote my letters down and crossed out BAIT, the answer came to me for a quick yet satisfying solve.  The cartoon shows us Jumble artist Jeff Knurek and his friend in a tranquil fishing scene.  Both men had pictures on their shirts so I decided to dive in and get to the bottom of this fishy caper.  Jeff (on the left) has a picture of a man on his shirt that has thick black hair.  The gentleman on the right has what appears to be a fishing vessel on his shirt.  Putting it together, my best guess is that it’s a reference to Forrest Gump with Tom Hanks and the boat from the movie named Jenny.  Another fun detail was the fish in the water.  If you look carefully, you’ll notice that he’s turned to the left and looking at Jeff’s worm seeming to indicate his preference and perhaps solving the duos dispute.  Enjoy your day and I’ll see you tomorrow.  🚣🏻🐟

NENEVU = UNEVEN

SGOTOE = STOOGE

CARTOON ANSWER:

THE GREENSKEEPER WAS UPSET WHEN A GOPHER MADE A —

LIHNENOOE = HOLE IN ONE

Good Wednesday morning everyone!  I had no problem deciphering the clue words this morning, although at first I thought UNEVEN was VENUE but it wasn’t long enough.  I quickly filled in the words and moved on to the cartoon.  Just one glance at the illustration and you were transported to a scene from the 1980’s movie Caddyshack.  The clue letters weren’t needed on this one and I solved the anagram just by looking at the sentence.  Even if you don’t know much about classic movies, the battle between the greenskeeper (Bill Murray) and gopher is one that just about everyone can identify.  Now I have to be honest, I have never seen this movie from start to finish but I’ve seen parts of it over the years.  It plays on the Golf channel quite a bit late in the evenings and it’s probably the most iconic golf related movie ever made.  I noticed a BW on the golf flag and after a quick web search I discovered that it stands for Bushwood Country Club.  Another interesting fact is that the movie was filmed in Florida and this golf course was chosen because it didn’t have any palm trees.  Looking at Jeff’s cartoon you’ll notice there are no palm trees in the background either!  The director chose the location to give the movie the feeling that Bushwood was in the Midwest.  Spoiler alert, the explosion at the end of the movie was reported by a pilot at nearby Fort Lauderdale airport who thought a plane had crashed which makes sense seeing as the movie was produced before the days of special effects.  With my limited knowledge of the film, I know Chevy Chase and Rodney Dangerfield were in it and I can only assume that they are the two people in the background near the golf cart (which appears to have a satellite dish on it).  I’m sure our friends who are more knowledgeable about the movie will point out some details I may have overlooked and I look forward to hearing from them.  See you tomorrow!  ⛳️

CENBOK = BECKON

ROXVET = VORTEX

THE WAREHOUSE EQUIPMENT OPERATOR BEGAN HIS MIDDAY MEAL WITH A —
FLFIKORT = FORK LIFT

Good Tuesday morning everyone!  BECKON was the word to get the wheels grinding in my head this morning and is my choice for the most difficult word award for today.  After solving the clue words I was on to the cartoon and had a feeling LIFT would be one of the words after seeing the tiny forklift in the background.  I wrote out my clue letters and sure enough LIFT was there leaving FORK for a quick Tuesday solve.  Kudos to you if you were able to read the company name on the workers hats.  My only guess was JUNCO but I’m pretty sure that I’m wrong.  Have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow!  😀

CATJEK = JACKET

CARTOON ANSWER:

HE SLOWED DOWN FOR THE HORSES BECAUSE THEY HAD THE —

ODYFIWRAE = “RIDE” OF WAY

Good Monday morning my friends and welcome back to another week of Jumble answers!  I didn’t run into any problems with the clue words today.  Even though we’ve seen WALRUS before, it would be my pick for the most challenging of the bunch.  The cartoon was well drawn and included some great detail such as the blinders on the horse and the giant cloud of exhaust behind the vintage automobile.  The mix of a man on foot, two men on horses, and a couple in a car alluded to this being a busy location where many modes of transportation were in use causing a traffic jam.  I didn’t need the clue letters to get OF WAY after reading the dialogue where the man says “After you!”  No word came to mind for the four letter word in quotes so I jotted down my letters, crossed out OF WAY and was left with RIDE to complete the puzzle and pun.  There appears to be writing on the front of the automobile but it’s so small that I couldn’t make it out.  Some people have commented that they would like me to start putting the cartoon sentence in my answer post so I’ve included it today.  I try to keep my posts as simplistic and uniform as possible and am not sure if I’ll continue to do so.  Please let me know your thoughts and I’ll catch you tomorrow.  😀

CARTOON ANSWER:

CHUCCLVORSTTIEIT = “CLOTHES” CIRCUIT TV

Happy Sunday everyone!  CAVORT was the word that put me over the edge today.  Overall the word choices were very unique and well jumbled.  The cartoon came easy for me after reading the caption and dialogue.  As soon as I saw fashion boutique, CLOTHES jumped out at me and the rest was a piece of cake.  Enjoy the football games today and I’ll see you bright and early tomorrow morning.  😎

CARTOON ANSWER:

BRIFNAITGG = BIG FAT GRIN

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday!  EASILY and TUGGED were the challenge for me this morning.  They weren’t overly difficult but they baffled me enough to make me slow down and think for a moment.  I moved on to the cartoon puzzle with all my clue letters and it was another quick solve.  I saw BIG first followed by FAT.  GRIN was easily visible at that point for the finish.  I searched the cartoon for easter eggs but came up empty handed.  Have a super day and let me know if there was something I overlooked.  😃

ALOCK = CLOAK

BOMOL = BLOOM

MERAKB = EMBARK

RVOMEE = REMOVE

CARTOON ANSWER:

LOABMEREM = MEMORABLE

Happy Wednesday everyone!  EMBARK was the stinker for me this morning and it gave me a few minutes of pause.  That’s ok because I was able to get the kids lunches packed and enjoy a few sips of coffee.  I kept thinking about it and knew that we had seen it before.  When it finally hit me, I scribbled it down and moved on to the cartoon.  You can always tell when Mr. Knurek draws a caricature based on a real person.  They tend to have a unique look about them that is different than our regular Jumble cast.   In this case it was Robert Dennard and the resemblance was very close after a quick web search.  The answer was an easy solve and a clever pun for the finish.  The official Jumble coffee mug was also in the cartoon and if you fancy one for yourself, you can support our favorite Jumble cartoonist by ordering one here (☕️).  Have a wonderful day and I’ll see you tomorrow!  😀

VAROB = BRAVO

BUDTO = DOUBT

NIYTEN = NINETY

GOLUNE = LOUNGE

CARTOON ANSWER:

RAODOUINLN = “LION” AROUND

Good morning and happy Tuesday!  I’m excited to get back into the groove after such a long weekend so let’s see what the Jumble has in store for us today.  Great word choices this morning with NINETY being one of my favorites.  I didn’t have and problems deciphering them and quickly moved on to the cartoon.  Jeff drew a wonderful Lion King scene and I didn’t need to use the clue letters to solve the puzzle after reading the caption.  I filled in my answer and then wrote out my letters just to make sure I was correct.  Everything fell into place quickly and the puzzle was finished.  Did you notice the easter egg in the background that depicts someone or something perched on the ledge?  I had to look real close at both the online puzzle and my newspaper copy and my best guess is that it’s Rafiki holding his staff.  Let me know what you think and I’ll see you tomorrow!  😀
