TMMIIDSKE = SKIMMED IT

Happy Tuesday morning everyone!  Another quick solve today with no difficulty whatsoever.  IT was my guess for the two letter word and SKIMMED popped out at me for the finish.  I went back and read the cartoon just to double check my work and everything checked out.  Jeff usually sneaks in details on his characters hats and today was no exception.  If you look closely it’s an image of a cow with horns!  Such a great detail that really fit the theme of the puzzle.  Have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow!

Happy Monday morning everyone and welcome back to another week of Jumble fun!  All of the clue words were quick to be solved and I moved along to the cartoon in seconds.  I read the cartoon before jotting down the clue letters and had a feeling that WILL would be one of the words.  After writing them out, my hunch was confirmed and the answer was a piece of cake.  Have a super Monday and I’ll see you tomorrow.  🙂

So sorry for the earlier mix-up with the puzzles.  The online newspaper that I sometimes use had the wrong Jumble posted.  PRAYER gave me a slight delay in solving all the words quickly.  The cartoon was no trouble at all and was a smooth finish.  Have a great evening and I’ll see you bright and early tomorrow morning!

DAEDSLALOOSMME = SAME OLD, SAME OLD

Good morning everyone and happy Saturday to you!  I breezed through the clue words this morning and went straight to work on the cartoon.  80 was the clue that led me to OLD right away.  SAME was a cinch to decipher leaving me a second set of the same letters for a very quick solve.  It was nice to have an easier puzzle after yesterday’s brain teaser.  I’ll have to wait for the online puzzle to be published to look for any details that Jeff may have included.  Nothing popped out at me in my newspaper copy and I’ll update my post if I find something.  74 was the high temperature yesterday here in NH so I’m excited to see what today brings.  Be well and I’ll see you tomorrow!  😀

CARTOON ANSWER:

WHEN THE FARMER BEGAN SELLING HIS OWN VEGGIES AND FRUITS, THE RESULT WAS A —

GOSWTCORYERER = “GROW-CERY” STORE

Good morning and HAPPY FRIDAY everyone!  The first three clue words were solved in heartbeat, but the fourth took some jumbling of my own to figure out.  I assumed that ER would be the suffix so BEARER was the only word to make sense.  With all of the clue words solved, it was on to the cartoon featuring a quaint farm stand scene.  I thought it was going to be a difficult solve with part of the solution having quotation marks, however; I was pleasantly surprised to find it rather easy.  I found STORE first and figured it had to be part of the solution as there was one in the background that was getting some finishing touches.  GROW jumped out at me leaving CERY for the finish to another masterfully crafted pun!  Farmer Jack’s reminds me of a farm stand near me that sells the BEST corn in the late summer and fall.  I always buy extra when it’s at it’s peak flavor to cook, shuck, freeze and then serve for Thanksgiving dinner.  It’s too early to even think about turkey day right now though as baseball season is just about to begin.  Have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow!  🌽🍅🍎🍆

Good Thursday morning everyone!  Mr. Hoyt chose EXCELLENT clue words for today’s puzzle and they were brilliantly jumbled.  ESSAY and RIPPLE bogged me down which gave me a chance to read the cartoon.  It was a quick solve and the answer came to me instantly after reading the sentence and dialogue.  I eventually figured out the words that were plaguing me to cap off another great Jumble.  Jeff’s cartoon reminds me of the time I went skiing where the roles were reversed and my wife was the one pulling my leg.  After getting the hang of the bunny slope, she convinced me to try a more advanced trail and after a horrifying journey to the bottom I swore I would never ski again.  Enjoy your day and I’ll see you tomorrow!  ⛷

CARTOON ANSWER:

WHEN THE SQUIRREL COULDN’T GET THE WALNUT OPEN, HIS FRIEND WANTED —

ACKTRATICA = A CRACK AT IT

Good morning everyone and happy Wednesday!  OUTBID and CANNED had me stumped for about a minute each ending my two days of speedy puzzle solving.  How do you feel about past tense words being used as anagrams?  We haven’t seen that many of them so I haven’t formed an opinion.  With all of the clue words solved, it was on to the cartoon.  At first glance of the clue letters I saw TRICK but it didn’t seem right.  It was after reading the sentence and dialogue that the answer became apparent and I filled in the correct words posthaste.  Looking at the cartoon, it seems like Jeff had the male squirrel trying to open the walnut from the bottom instead of the easier way of prying it open where the indentation is on top — a minor detail that was perfectly drawn!  Have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow.  😀

Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday!  Another easy puzzle today with TIPTOE giving me a three second delay in solving all the clue words instantly.  Writing down the clue letters I noticed that there were a few B’s.  After reading the cartoon and noticing the broken drill bits on the floor I didn’t need the letters to solve the pun.  The small case of bits that Jeff added on the floor in the background was a nice touch.  This puzzle reminded me of last summer when I was drilling into concrete to secure my basement toilet.  It took a few bits (and a couple of curse words) to get that job done!  Have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow.  🙂

WHEN THE OWNER OF THE CALENDAR FACTORY GAVE HIS EMPLOYEES A BIG BONUS, IT —

HMDDEAAETRIY = MADE THEIR DAY

Good Monday morning my friends and welcome back to another week of Jumble!  The puzzle was a typical Monday breeze taking less than 30 seconds to complete.  In fact it took me longer to write my answer in the boxes then it did to solve the words.  The cartoon was excellent as always with a few details you may have overlooked.  Did you notice the “J” at the bottom of the boss’s tie?  How about the “365” on the calendar box that he’s holding?  Last but not least was the two stick figures hugging in the cartoon block of the calendar that the man with the hat is holding.  I tried to make out what the cartoon was on the boss’s calendar box but it was too difficult to see.  My best guess is that it’s a dog because of the tail and long ears but I’ll leave it up for debate.  The Jumble calendar is a REAL PRODUCT and I purchased one late last summer.  If you’re interested in picking one up, the link is below and it will bring you to the manufacturers website.  Now if I could only find that tie for my Jumble collection!  😁

Have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow!

Good afternoon and happy Sunday everyone!  INFECT was the only word I didn’t get right away, but it came to me after a short pause.  The cartoon answer was a quick solve as well with no difficulty whatsoever.  There was so much detail in the cartoon, but my favorites were the three fish under the boat and the hull number on the boat (JMBL 1954).  Have a great day and I’ll see you bright and early tomorrow morning!

Happy Friday everyone!  I can’t believe I was fooled by STEREO yet again.  It seems like every time David uses it in the puzzle I have the hardest time figuring it out.  The other three clue words were quick to be solved so I moved along to the cartoon.  The answer came to me in a flash but I had to go slow to make sure I spelled the 12-letter solution correctly.  There weren’t any unique details in the cartoon but the dialogue about the people being charitable made me smile.  I did Saturday’s puzzle in the middle of typing this and I’ll post the solution later this evening.  I’ll be busy tomorrow morning getting ready for my son’s birthday party and won’t have a chance.  Have a great weekend!  😀

OSMCSO = COSMOS

CARTOON ANSWER:

HE THANKED HIS MIME TEACHER, BUT WAS TOLD —

NTTNINDIETOMO = DON’T MENTION IT

Good Thursday morning, my friends.  COSMOS was the word that stumped me this morning but it was “mime” own fault!  I wasn’t able to get the word right off the bat so I tried to memorize the letters and think about it during my morning routine.  When nothing came to mind, I went back and looked at the word again.  I memorized two C’s instead of two S’s — rookie mistake!  Once I figured it out I was determined to finish the puzzle swiftly.  DON’T was my guess for the contraction so I penciled it in.  ME seemed like a good choice for the two letter word but I couldn’t figure out a 7-letter word with the leftovers.  I erased ME and added it to the front of my letters.  After doing that,  MENTION hit me like a sack of potatoes and IT was left for the finish.  Jeff did a great job with the mimes but it wasn’t until after the puzzle was completed that I was able to realize just how brilliant an illustration it really was.  Given my passion for comic books where the illustrations are just as powerful as the words, I felt silly not being able to figure out the final answer based on their body language alone.  Overall, it felt great having a challenge after a relatively easy week of puzzles.  Another snow storm brings another school delay.  It sure looks beautiful until you have to shovel!  Have a terrfic day and I’ll see you tomorrow.  😀

AFTER USING A COUPON TO GET THE FANCY CHEESE AT 70 PERCENT OFF, THEY —

VTAISDERE = “SAVER-ED” IT

Good morning everyone and happy Wednesday!  No difficulty with the clue words today and I dashed right to the cartoon.  After reading the sentence, it was obvious that the solution would be a play on saving money or a particular type of cheese.  While looking at my letters, IT seemed like the correct choice for the two letter word so I scribbled it down.  No cheese types came to mind but ED seemed like it would fit in the two blocks inside the quotes leaving me SAVER for the finish and completing this very smelly pun.  I hope you were able to stick a “Roquefork” in this puzzle for a quick finish and if not, I hope it didn’t make you “Blue”!  Have a “grate” day and I’ll see you tomorrow.  😵🧀

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!  I surprised my wife with a dozen roses and some chocolates this morning so I’m safe for another year.  I got the kids some chocolate covered Oreo cookies from the candy shop and the dogs got faux chocolate covered bones.  With all my bases covered, I opened my paper anticipating a V-Day themed puzzle but saw Elton John instead!  I’ve seen him in concert many years ago and it brought back some great memories of a wonderful evening.  The clue words were a quick solve this morning and I managed to complete the pun without using the letters.  My brain was spot on today so I went looking for details in the cartoon and only noticed a few.  Sir Elton had a ring on his pinky finger and two earrings and the man speaking appears to have two earrings as well.  If you look closely, the person in the last row has three hoop earrings.  I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine’s day and I’ll see you tomorrow!
