AFTER REPAIRS WERE MADE ON THE CHURCH SPIRE, IT WAS —

SEPNOITHITAPP = IN TIP-TOP SHAPE

Good Monday morning everyone and welcome back to another week of Jumble fun!  I managed to get all of the clue words quickly and moved right on to the cartoon.  After looking at my letters and noticing the hyphen between the three letter words, TIP-TOP jumped out at me and the rest fell right into place for the finish.  The stained glass windows on the church were the star of the cartoon and really added a nice touch.  I’ll see you bright and early tomorrow morning and we’ll hopefully have a Valentine’s Day themed puzzle.  Enjoy your day!!!  🙂

HE WAS BEGINNING TO ACCEPT THE FACT THAT HE WAS A GHOST.  THE OTHER GHOSTS SAID —

HHPSETTIAISTTR = THAT’S THE SPIRIT

Good Sunday morning everyone!  OPPOSE was the word that took me a couple of minutes to get but after that it was straight to the cartoon.  I read the dialogue and sentence in an attempt to get the solution but I wasn’t successful.  With my clue letters written down, I figured THE would be the 3 letter word.  SPIRIT jumped right out at me leaving THAT’S for the finish.  Seeing Jeff’s cartoon really makes me excited for baseball season to start again!  Today we’ve been preparing for the big snowstorm barreling our way bringing 10-18″ of the white stuff.  I used my snowblower and did circles in my back yard to mound the snow into a “mountain” for the kids and they’ve had a blast sliding down it and making tunnels.  Have a wonderful day and I’ll see you tomorrow!  😀

PTTKIOUANIRC = PUT A CORK IN IT

Good morning everyone and happy Saturday!  CIRCUS was the only word to give me some trouble this morning, however; I figured it out after a bit of self-jumbling.  With all of the clue words solved, it was on to the cartoon.  When talking about wine and noticing a corkscrew on the table, the answer came to me instantly.  There is writing on the wine bottle but I couldn’t see it clearly enough to venture a guess.  I’ll have to wait until the puzzle is published online so I can blow it up and take a gander.  I guess that’s the downside of getting it a day early in my newspaper!  Have a wonderful day and I’ll see you tomorrow.  🙂🍷

Update 8:41 pm: Here’s the wine bottle enlarged for your viewing pleasure. It would be hard to resist a glass of this robust red Jumble wine from 2017!!! 😉

WEATCONSHOWIH = “TWO” EACH HIS OWN

Happy Friday everyone!  When I first woke up this morning, I turned on my iPad and quickly glanced at the puzzle and I solved all of the clue words instantly.  The kids have a two hour school delay this morning so I thought I would finish the puzzle later and make a nice breakfast.  After putting the cinnamon rolls in the oven and finishing the rest of my morning routine, I had a few minutes to spare so I walked out to get my newspaper and it wasn’t anywhere to be found.  There weren’t any fresh tire tracks in the snow so hopefully she’ll deliver it later today.  I got out my notepad and started the solve.  Like I mentioned, all of the clue words were quickly solved but it was the cartoon that had me stumped.  I attached my work so you could see my process.  It wasn’t until I found TWO that it all fell neatly into place for a fantastic pun-ny finish!  I hope you had an easier time than I did and I’ll post Saturday’s answers later if my paper shows up.  Have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow.  🙂

HAWARBHE = “BREW-HAHA”

Good morning and happy Thursday everyone!  REBUKE was the difficult word for me to solve today.  I had one of those mornings where I was drawing a blank and nothing seemed to work.  I put the puzzle down and came back a few minutes later and that’s when it came into view.  With all the clue words solved, it was on to the cartoon.  I saw BREW right away leaving HAHA to finish the puzzle and completing the hilarious pun!  Jeff packed so much detail into this illustration including the man wearing the Captain America shield on his shirt.  Did you notice the tiny “F” on the tap handle?  Perhaps Fosters is Jeff’s brew of choice.  They’ve updated the snow forecast to be 16-20″ so our state is pretty much shut down.  All schools were closed last night in anticipation of the storm and my wife stayed home today.  Enjoy the rest of your day and I hope it’s sunny and warm in your neck of the woods!

IMEONTRPN = PROMINENT

Good Wednesday morning everyone!  Another day, another puzzle, and another school delay.  This time it’s only two hours on account of the icing overnight but I’m going to let everyone sleep in and enjoy the peace and quiet while I can get it.  No difficulty in solving the clue words today.  They were well jumbled but not overly difficult to decipher.  I tried to solve the cartoon just by looking at it but I came up empty handed.  After writing down the clue letters, I was still at a loss.  The illustration was of a king and queen being crowned and that happens at a PROM and sure enough it was in there.  The letter layout was fantastic and David did a great job hiding it!  The rest fell into place in a snap for an excellent and unexpected pun.  I enjoyed the youngsters with their phones out taking pictures as it really gave the cartoon a modern feel.  6-12 inches of snow guaranteed for tomorrow so it seems like that dang groundhog knew what he was talking about.  Enjoy the day and have a wonderful Wednesday!  😃

TENSSIETON = SET IN STONE

Good Tuesday morning everyone!  After the ease of yesterday’s puzzle I decided to try my hand at solving today’s without the clue letters and I’m happy to report that I was successful!!!  After jotting down my answer I went back and solved the clue words to double check.  DIVEST was the only tricky anagram, but I knew what letters I needed and it all fell into place in a flash.  No unique details in the puzzle other than the $15/ft price of the granite.  Is that a good deal?  Maybe someone who’s in the biz or building a house can fill us in.  All schools are closed in my area today due to “expected snow” of two to four inches.  I’ve never heard of a sillier excuse but they haven’t had a snow day all year and everyone deserves a day off now and again.  Enjoy your day and I’ll see you tomorrow!  😀❄️☃️

EKTASUMPET = MAKEUP TEST

Good morning everyone and happy Monday!  I was thankful for an easy puzzle this morning after such a late evening of football.  I turned off the game shortly after the strart of the third quarter figuring we had no chance.  My family went to bed and I picked up around the kitchen and for some unknown reason, I turned the game back.  I was SHOCKED to see it halfway through the fourth and my Patriots started the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history.  We all know the rest of the story so there’s no need to rehash sports commentary so lets just say myself and all of New England is a little tired this morning.  I managed to get up early and went and bought my son a Patriots championship shirt this morning along with many other tired looking folks.  I did the puzzle before I left and didn’t have any trouble whatsoever.  When I looked at the cartoon sentence and my clue letters, MAKEUP was apparent and TEST completed the puzzle and pun.  Have a great day my friends and I’ll see you tomorrow.  😀🏆🏈

Good morning and happy Saturday!  WICKET was the word that stumped me today and I only got it by backing into it after finishing the cartoon.  Speaking of the cartoon, it was over the top fun and had so much detail that I don’t even know where to start.  Let me just say that Jeff put a lot of effort into this one and it shows.  My favorite details were the woman taking the picture with her cell phone and the tiny Peyton on her screen and the bowling score at the top of the cartoon.  Have a great rest of your day and I’ll see you tomorrow.  😀

Happy Groundhog Day and warmest woodchuck wishes everyone!  By now you’ve probably heard the word that Punxsutawney Phil prognosticated six more weeks of winter, but don’t despair as spring will be here before you know it.  If we didn’t get an inch of snow yesterday, I would have thought spring had already sprung.  I was surprised that today’s puzzle wasn’t Groundhog Day themed, but we did receive a great puzzle nonetheless.  The most challenging of the quartet were the two A-words but they didn’t slow me down.  I sprinted to the cartoon in a jiffy with my clue letters in tow and decided to stare at the illustration a bit before attempting the answer.  There were five alligators pictured on the edge of the water with the first two exchanging some words about them all being so close together.  At that point I knew it would be a play on words because of the quotation marks so I had alligators and a traffic jam to work with.  Looking at my letters, I found GATOR immediately with LTAIS left over.  TAIL was easily visible and I made GATOR plural for the finish.  What a great pun and excellent artwork by David and Jeff that didn’t disappoint!  I hope you enjoyed the puzzle as much as I did and I’ll see you tomorrow!
