Jumble Answers for 02/06/2017

Good morning everyone and happy Monday!  I was thankful for an easy puzzle this morning after such a late evening of football.  I turned off the game shortly after the strart of the third quarter figuring we had no chance.  My family went to bed and I picked up around the kitchen and for some unknown reason, I turned the game back.  I was SHOCKED to see it halfway through the fourth and my Patriots started the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history.  We all know the rest of the story so there’s no need to rehash sports commentary so lets just say myself and all of New England is a little tired this morning.  I managed to get up early and went and bought my son a Patriots championship shirt this morning along with many other tired looking folks.  I did the puzzle before I left and didn’t have any trouble whatsoever.  When I looked at the cartoon sentence and my clue letters, MAKEUP was apparent and TEST completed the puzzle and pun.  Have a great day my friends and I’ll see you tomorrow.  πŸ˜€πŸ†πŸˆ

  1. Good morning. It was another easy Monday as you said. The whole thing was solved before the commercial was over and the news resumed. I shut the game off when the score was 28 to 9. Put it back on with less than a minute left and couldn’t believe my eyes. Never in a million years would I think they would come back. Until tomorrow stay well.

  2. Pewter stumped me, even after solving the puzzle and the other three words quickly.
What more can be said about the Patriots? Not the result I was hoping for, but one has to respect what they achieved yesterday.

    • I wasn’t following this season closely, John. I’m more of a baseball fan but I always support my home team. If I had just went to bed and not caught the end, I would never have forgiven myself. Truly incredible. Have a great day my friend!

  3. I found the puzzle easy this morning as well. That truly was a super Super Bowl yesterday. Since Tom Brady is a local boy, he has many fans in the Bay Area.

  4. An easy puzzle this morning. Thank goodness, because my brain just couldn’t take anymore excitement after last night’s Super Bowl. Go Patriots! What a great team.

  5. Fastest solve ever! When I got up after 10 a.m., I jokingly asked husband if he had done the Jumble yet. While I grabbed some breakfast, he dug my Jumble out of the newspaper and read the question to me, and I said the answer immediately! I felt that I had an unfair advantage, however, because one granddaughter who graduated from cosmetology school is doing really well and her younger sister is there now so hear about it so often that it stays fresh in my mind. I got the first 3 words quickly but chose to back into PEWTER because of already having the letters.
What a game! It wore us out! We watched the whole thing and never gave up even when it looked like all hope was gone. When the touchdown in overtime was declared good, I was exclaiming excitedly, as usual, but when I looked at my quiet, as usual, husband he had a little happy tear in each eye. Adorable!
Congratulations, Mike. You didn’t say anything about buying your shirt to match your son’s. Have a marvelous Monday along with all of New England.
Loved your words today, as usual, and all of the comments.

    • Good morning Lelia! I’m so happy that you were able to solve the cartoon without help from the clue words/letters — great work! As far as the game goes, I felt compelled to turn it back on late in the third quarter. I didn’t want the knife to go any deeper in my heart than it already was but I just needed to see it through to the end. The comment about your husbands tears was exactly what I and Pat’s fans nationwide experienced. I didn’t buy myself a shirt as they didn’t have the exact same style that Brady had so I can wait. My son was so excited to show off his Championship shirt and could care less about how it looked. Enjoy the rest of your day and I’ll catch you tomorrow. 😊

  6. Got the words and the puzzle with no problem — the one thing I think the Falcon fans learned last night, is don’t start crowing on fb until the end of the game — some of their halftime posts were really sad, by the time the game ended. Go Pats and now I’m ready for the Daytona 500 and then Go Rangers.
    I love sports.
