CARTOON ANSWER:

AFTER USING A COUPON TO GET THE FANCY CHEESE AT 70 PERCENT OFF, THEY —

VTAISDERE = “SAVER-ED” IT

Good morning everyone and happy Wednesday!  No difficulty with the clue words today and I dashed right to the cartoon.  After reading the sentence, it was obvious that the solution would be a play on saving money or a particular type of cheese.  While looking at my letters, IT seemed like the correct choice for the two letter word so I scribbled it down.  No cheese types came to mind but ED seemed like it would fit in the two blocks inside the quotes leaving me SAVER for the finish and completing this very smelly pun.  I hope you were able to stick a “Roquefork” in this puzzle for a quick finish and if not, I hope it didn’t make you “Blue”!  Have a “grate” day and I’ll see you tomorrow.  😵🧀

  1. Saver Ed it was a big stretch for we’d. Jumble. Your clues didn’t help much

  2. Good morning. First off I thought your comments were great. I loved the way you sneaked in all the flavors. You still have me smiling. Again I got the words in under two minutes with depict taking the longest. Same as yesterday , I had to go out and return to jumble. I looked at the cartoon and the answer jumped out. “I might have something here”. Two days in a row. Maybe I can spread this new technique to others. You used up all the good lines,didn’t have much to work with. Till tomorrow,stay well.

    • Great job solving it, Paul! I call that the “fresh eyes” technique and I use it quite a bit. See you tomorrow and I hope your streak lasts!

  3. Had the words in 20 seconds, but the puzzle took me about 5 minutes. Always have trouble with the solutions that are a play on words. I “curd-nt” put it together quickly this morning! 😜

  4. Fun puzzle today. I had no problem with the clue words or the solution. “BRIE- ezed”right though it.
