CARTOON ANSWER:

WHEN IT CAME TO WHETHER WORMS OR LURES ATTRACT MORE FISH, IT WAS —

BTLAEBEIAD = “DE-BAIT-ABLE”

Good Thursday morning everyone!  The clue words weren’t overly difficult and I managed to get through them rather quickly without any trouble.  I don’t recall seeing them before so it was refreshing to have new ones.  Moving on to the cartoon, I tried to solve it without the help of the clue letters and all I could come up with was BAIT as one of the four letter words.  As soon as I wrote my letters down and crossed out BAIT, the answer came to me for a quick yet satisfying solve.  The cartoon shows us Jumble artist Jeff Knurek and his friend in a tranquil fishing scene.  Both men had pictures on their shirts so I decided to dive in and get to the bottom of this fishy caper.  Jeff (on the left) has a picture of a man on his shirt that has thick black hair.  The gentleman on the right has what appears to be a fishing vessel on his shirt.  Putting it together, my best guess is that it’s a reference to Forrest Gump with Tom Hanks and the boat from the movie named Jenny.  Another fun detail was the fish in the water.  If you look carefully, you’ll notice that he’s turned to the left and looking at Jeff’s worm seeming to indicate his preference and perhaps solving the duos dispute.  Enjoy your day and I’ll see you tomorrow.  🚣🏻🐟
