SAREO = AROSE

NATDS = STAND

CITYMS = MYSTIC

QEOAPU = OPAQUE

CARTOON ANSWER:

ROSSTDTIPAE = STORIED PAST

Happy Friday, my friends!  This puzzle truly had my brain confused this morning, and I couldn’t have been more pleased.  David picked some excellent clue words with AROSE being the most challenging of the group.  We’ve seen MYSTIC before so it didn’t trip me up this time.  The Q was the odd letter in OPAQUE and I find that when there is a unique letter, the word is much easier to solve as there are only so many words to choose from.  Mr. Knurek’s cartoon coupled with Mr. Hoyt’s fantastic and cryptic letter layout are what really stole the show.  I was stumped just by looking at the letters and not sure where to begin.  I immediately found RISE, but it was already used in the cartoon and I was sure they wouldn’t make the solution that easy.  Perhaps it was a trick, so I went with it and I’m glad that I did.  I crossed out the letters and tried my darndest to make a 7 letter word out of the remaining letters.  After a few minutes, nothing was coming into view so I read the cartoon again and started thinking about alternate words for historic.  I found PAST in the remaining letters, then I went back and wrote down my original letters and crossed out PAST and found STORIED in a flash!  I hope my explanation wasn’t too confusing and if so I apologize.  I wouldn’t be surprised to see this Jumble headed to the JUST JUMBLE game in the near future.  We did get some snow last night here in NH.  It was the first recordable snowfall for my snow stick so I thought I’d share a photo.  It’s just under the 3″ mark and exactly what the local weatherman predicted.  And lastly, I had a few extra minutes this morning to attempt Saturday’s Jumble.  The clue words were more difficult than todays and  I’m still stuck on one of them.  I’ll post the answer later this evening when I can commit more time to figuring it out.  Enjoy the day and I’ll see you tomorrow.  🙂

COLISA = SOCIAL

CARTOON ANSWER:

ATOASECRWSCAL = COAST WAS CLEAR

Good Thursday morning!  We’ve seen all four of the clue words recently and they were a cinch to figure out.  I tried to solve the cartoon without the clue letters and I was successful for the second day in a row!  When I read the dialogue of the cartoon the man said “I’m not pedaling” and Jeff had them near the “coast” so the solution came to me very quickly.  Have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow!

CARTOON ANSWER:

SILGLINBEPDN = SPELLBINDING

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  There are three days left in the year before I get to use my Jumble desk calendar.  I ordered it many months ago and have been eager to take it out of the box but didn’t want to spoil any of the puzzles.  My paper was delivered this morning, however; I forgot to charge my iPad so I have to type all of this on my iPhone.  If it’s not one thing it’s another.  I didn’t run into any problems with the words this morning.  They all came to me quickly and I went straight to the cartoon.  I tried to solve the puzzle without the clue letters and I was successful (finally)!  I wrote down my answer first and then the letters just to make sure.  The cartoon dialogue where the girl said “I’ll turn you into a frog” was what really clinched it for me.  Have a great day my friends and I’ll see you tomorrow!

NTKAH = THANK

DEGNU = NUDGE

MAREYC = CREAMY

DASILM = DISMAL

CARTOON ANSWER:

THNUCEDMA = UNMATCHED

Good Tuesday morning!  It’s overcast and windy today and my paper wasn’t delivered AGAIN so I’m off to a rough start this morning.  Thankfully I can rely on the internet for the puzzle so I had something to do while having my coffee.  Without further delay, here’s my take on our favorite game.  NUDGE and DISMAL took the longest to decipher this morning.  They weren’t overly difficult but they did slow me down for a minute.  Mr. Hoyt has been choosing some unique words recently and it sure is refreshing.  After solving all the words, I attempted the cartoon without writing down the clue letters.  The solution was 9 letters so I didn’t have much of a chance and gave up just about as fast as I started.  After writing down the letters, I noticed that U was the odd letter of the group and right before it was N.  UNMATCHED was my first guess and just like that the puzzle was finished.  I hope you have a terrific day and I’ll see you tomorrow.  😀🎾

GUOLM = MOGUL

LUBNED = BUNDLE

AACREM = CAMERA

CARTOON ANSWER:

HENMUBDCAA = MADE A BUNCH

Good morning everyone and happy Monday!  HYENA was the tough one for me this morning.  My brain and body are still tired from yesterday and it took me quite some time to figure out.  The cartoon answer was excellent but not overly difficult to decipher.  BUNCH was the first word I solved.  A was a given for the single letter and then MADE for the finish.  Now that Christmas is over, it’s time to take all the decorations down and pack them away for another year.  My son got up extra early to play with his gifts and daddy has yet to make his coffee.  It’s going to be another long day…  Take care and I’ll see you tomorrow!  😴 ☕️

Good morning everyone!  Where was that gift wrapping station last night when I had a marathon evening of wrapping gifts?!  Oh well, I got them all wrapped and a few other chores done so I’m OFFICIALLY ready for the Christmas Eve celebration tonight with my family.  No real trouble with the clue words today.  Even FORGO was easy because it was practically spelled correctly.  Although it didn’t look right, I stuck with it and moved on to the cartoon.  No real trouble there either as GIFT jumped out at me first and the rest was a snap.  I received my Sunday newspaper this morning so I’m off to do that Jumble now.  Enjoy your day and I’ll post the answer a little later this evening.  😀

DRUVOE = DEVOUR

CARTOON ANSWER:

WHIDTOFLTEOR = THE WORLD OF IT

TGIF my friends!  What a fantastic puzzle we had this morning that featured a great assortment of clue words that were jumbled very well.  I know we’ve seen WHIRL in the past, and possibly DITTO as well.  I didn’t have any trouble with the words and was quick to move on to the cartoon.  Did you get the answer before solving the clue words?  I tried again today but was unsuccessful.  Perhaps I could have stared at it just a little longer and maybe I would have got it but I had a few errands this morning and was pressed for time.  I jotted down the letters and found WORLD first.  The rest of the solution came into view immediately for a swift finish!  Enjoy your Friday and I hope you all have a great day.  See you tomorrow!  😊

RISUV = VIRUS

LITTE = TITLE

NAAABC = CABANA

IRRRMO = MIRROR

CARTOON ANSWER:

VITLEAAMIR = “A-RIVAL” TIME

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday!  CABANA was the only word to give me pause this morning.  I think it was the three AAA’s in a row that got me.  The cartoon was great and the squabbling fans dressed in their teams regalia made it all the more interesting to look at.  This was day 3 of one word in quotes and I welcomed the challenge.  I guessed A would be the single letter so that’s where I started.  Nothing jumped out at me so I did some self jumbling and TIME came next.  I was left with VLRIA and I wrote VIRAL on my notepad and it seemed to fit but didn’t look right.  I quickly saw the error and changed it to RIVAL to finish another hilarious pun.  Will we have day 4 of one word in quotes?  Tune in tomorrow to find out, but until then, have a great day!  🤔

SHECS = CHESS

NUDOW = WOUND

ROWNDA = ONWARD

ITAXFE = FIXATE

CARTOON ANSWER:

HSSWOONIT = ON HIS “TOWS”

Happy Wednesday morning everyone!  What an excellent puzzle we had this morning so let’s get right to it.  The clue words were all jumbled very well and took some time to figure out.  I would say that ONWARD gave me the most trouble followed by WOUND and then FIXATE.  Today was day number two of trying to solve the cartoon without looking at the clue letters and I was unsuccessful again.  We had one word in quotes so I didn’t stand much of a chance.  After writing out the letters and reading the cartoon, the tugboat gave it away.  It was another great pun that you couldn’t help but smile at!  I wanted to share a picture of what I assume is a hawk of some sort sitting on an electric wire.  The picture makes him look smaller than he actually was because I was far away and didn’t want to scare him off.  Trust me, he was HUGE!  It was near the marsh and he seemed to be waiting patiently for some food to catch his eye.  It wasn’t a busy area so I pulled over and snapped a quick picture.  If anyone can help identify the species it would be greatly appreciated.  Be well and I’ll see you tomorrow!

TUTNY = NUTTY

LASIA = ALIAS

BOLBEB = BOBBLE

MASCUP = CAMPUS

CARTOON ANSWER:

NYALABLEMUS = “BUY” ALL MEANS

Good Tuesday morning and welcome back!  After breezing through the clue words with no problem at all, I figured that the cartoon puzzle was going to be easy as well.  I was so confident that I attempted to solve it without writing down the clue letters.  After realizing that I wouldn’t be able to solve it without help, I broke down and scribbled them down.  I started with the five letter word and came up with small, blame, means and blues.  After going back and forth with each word and the leftover letters, I found that using MEANS left BUY and ALL which worked and finished the pun!  The puzzle was more difficult than I anticipated, but the pun was a great pay off.  Have a spectacular day my friends and I’ll see you tomorrow.  😁

Happy Monday morning my friends!  BISON gave me a little trouble this morning.  I know we’ve seen it recently but it’s just one of those words that gets me every time.  With all of the clue words solved I headed to the cartoon.  When I read the word “hire” in the dialogue, JOB jumped out at me and STEADY was right there for a Monday morning quick solve and stinky pun finish.  Have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow!

PLUSTC = SCULPT

GAVEOY = VOYAGE

CARTOON ANSWER:

ERUFESLTVYA = FAULTY SERVE

Happy Saturday morning my friends and thank you for coming back day after day to support my blog.  I have so much fun posting and it’s great to read all the comments, tips and suggestions.  Great clue word choices today but nothing really difficult.  The cartoon answer was where I had some trouble.  I noticed the tennis player having a hard time getting the ball over the net so SERVE came quickly.  After switching some letters around, FAULTY came into view to solve the puzzle.  I wasn’t sure that the solution made sense so I started looking for other words but didn’t come up with much.  We’ve been having some really funny puns lately but this one was mediocre.  Perhaps it’s just me…  We’re at 2 inches of snow with 4-7 forecasted. Nothing will stop us from going to see Rogue One at noon today.  My truck is full of gas and already in four wheel drive.  The movie theater is 10 minutes away so it shouldn’t be too bad.  See you tomorrow!  😀
