CARTOON ANSWER:
AFTER KNOCKING OUT HIS OPPONENT IN THE FIRST ROUND, THE BOXER WAS —
DSPNPAHCEUESAL = PLEASED AS PUNCH
Happy Sunday everyone! DEFUSE was the only clue word that gave me some trouble. With all of the words figured out it was on to the cartoon. When I read “knocking out” I knew immediately that the answer would have PUNCH in it. I went with AS for the two letter word and PLEASED was right there for the finish. Have a super day and I’ll see you bright and early tomorrow morning!

Jumble appears only daily and Sat in Philthydelphia (sic) Bulletin . . . what papers carry Jumble on a Sunday? . . . That is in the Southern NJ and SE PA area?
I’m not sure. I hope someone can help you as it’s not published online either. 🙁

Must look at it on Sunday as l can’t see that it lets you go back.
On Sunday, go there , then look at top left corner for 3 horizontal lines. Click there ,then go to puzzles and comics.
Sunday jumble is there.
Thank you Clay! I know this is going to help A LOT of people!!!
I like your link to this newspaper Clay as I can download the PDF file and it really enlarges the puzzle while keeping the detail. Thanks again!!! It will sure come in handy when I’m looking for the little details that Jeff adds to his illustrations. 😀
And, what in the name of the Lord is ‘MODERATION’? Would rather have a cogent response over moderation!
Good morning. The last word for me took as long as getting all the other words combined. The cartoon answer eluded me for over an hour. Now that I think I have the answer it’s not coming out right because I have no extra “a” but an “l”. After checking over words four times I realized I spelled spalsh instead of splash. The older you get the more things reverse in the mind sometimes. Oh the golden years. It certainly isn’t so golden. Stay healthy. Till tomorrow.
I didn’t have a problem with the clue words but like Paul for some reason the answer took some time to figure out. I kept thinking “champ” which was an impossibility because there was no “m” available. All of a sudden the light dawned and pleased came to me and of course as punch was easy after that. Hope you all have a good day.
When I solved the cartoon puzzle I came out with “Punched as Pleas” so that was a quick fix.
My fingers are crossed that you tell us tomorrow that you got to take your long like in the woods. Until then.
My fingers are crossed that you tell us tomorrow that you got to take your long HIKE in the woods. Until then.
No hike this weekend, Lelia. Too many chores, two birthday parties, and my son had his friend over for most of Sunday. The weather looks like it will be mild again for the week so maybe this Saturday. The Super Bowl is Sunday so NOTHING is happening on that day. 😊
