  1. Good Morning, Everyone…🪓JACK …AND THAT CRACK! 🪓

🎶”Dies Irae”🎶…Theme from “The Shining” – Composed and performed by Wendy Carlos & Rachel Elkind 1980  https://tinyurl.com/2p9uacvf

    🪓 The ad-lib of “Here’s Johnny” …(did I need a HYPHEN there)?…

It really doesn’t matter, won’t IMPEDE my writing here)…

This movie with Jack Nicholson, blank CANVAS at the start,

Became iconic after Jack ran away with his part…

The GIGGLE oh so menacing…he set the screen on fire,

And poor Shelley…she thought for sure that night she would EXPIRE…

No place to find ASYLUM…her nerves now all a shamble…

    …This movie here by King…Scary? Def A SHINING EXAMPLE…🪓

After seeing this movie, I remember thinking…”Damn, far as actors go, nobody AX like Nicholson”…

SNOW…Today…We find ourselves on the movie set of Stephen King’s  https://tinyurl.com/534u4awk  “The Shining” https://tinyurl.com/5n7r4vtr , where we meet it’s main characters, Jack Torrance and his wife, Wendy, played by Jack Nicholson, https://tinyurl.com/yckyhsb9  and Shelly Duvall. https://tinyurl.com/xp4kv2wj and the film’s director, Stanley Kubrick. https://tinyurl.com/384p4djw. And even though I had our solve at first glance, I kept AXing myself if one needs to know the movie itself in order to ace this puzzle…despite it being a repeat solve. Maybe not, but it would definitely help…For while scores of King’s works went on to become SUCCESSFUL movies…this one? It’s definitely A SHINING EXAMPLE https://tinyurl.com/383v2aby …And that’s a wrap…with another REELy easy, breezy…albeit queasy…puzzle to end our week…

Jeff’s💎Gems? Known for his vast knowledge of appreciation for pop culture, and his love of movies, Jeff’s definitely had fun with this one. The dialogue he’s used here today might just be some of his best LINES to date…Jack: “I’m ready for my closeup”…The iconic phrase uttered by Gloria Swanson as Norma Desmond in “Sunset Boulevard” https://tinyurl.com/2s3n434s and Shelley: “You’re certainly not a dull boy, Jack”… https://tinyurl.com/3727mzv9 taken from the movie itself. But it’s the words he’s given Mr Kubrick that had me CRACKING up…”One door”?…The scene was finally a print on the 61st take. 60 doors met their demise…

So…There you have it, Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, and stay safe…And if you’ve never seen this movie ‘bout Jack and CHILL…TREAD carefully…it’s SNOW, SNOW scary…🪓🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Yes, I needed to look up the Nicholson movies to get the Shining reference for the cartoon solution. Chuck.

  2. 🤷🏻‍♂️Worried about what might IMPEDE his progress…with the time limit about to EXPIRE…and wanting badly to be A SHINING EXAMPLE for his children, he took the CANVAS distributed by the HYPHEN Company and sought ASYLUM in the basement…away from the distracting sounds of one GIGGLE too many…🤷🏻‍♂️

👍🏻The little boy’s best friend at school just happened to be Finn,
So when his Mom said HYPHEN he broke out in a huge grin…
He soon began to GIGGLE, nothing could IMPEDE that laugh,
‘Cause he was sure his Mom had definitely made a gaffe…
How wonderful a child’s mind…a CANVAS bright and clean,
…His Mom thought, as she mused, “never EXPIRE…look to glean…
…As much as you can so you’ll learn, ASYLUM you won’t need,
Ask questions, seek your answers…and always love to read”…
So she explained a hyphen was a dash, showed him a sample…
And vowed that should would teach him well…be A SHINING EXAMPLE…👍🏻

  4. This is my first blind solve in a long while. I remembered asylum and hyphen from earlier Jumbles. Good stuff. Have a great day, Angela. You are my favorite start to the day. – Dave

  5. Very informative and entertaining post this morning, Angela…and thanks for paying homage to Sunset Boulevard, one of my favorite film noirs of the 50’s. I looked at the puzzle and quickly decided it started with an A…then asked myself what movie was depicted….and with A SHINING, got the immediate solve. While working on the anagrams, puzzled a moment on ASYLUM, but I backed it in successfully. Indian summer looks like it’s coming to an end this afternoon, with temperatures plunging. Y’all stay warm and cozy out there. Terry

    • YW, Terry and Tk you. I’m glad you enjoyed it. I enjoyed the “Sunset Boulevard” reference too…🪓🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. These last few days have been a memorable jumble experience ! The only Sunday in a long time that all the anagrams came and the jumble with Jack Nicholson , best movie , was the SHINING ! Then the letters that were left was an EXAMPLE !great Sunday Funday ! And yes , Jeff’s Gems had it down good ! So everyone have a warm Sunday !!!!

  7. A partial win. I paused on the asylum anagram, but having solved that and having the letters I had an eventual win on the cartoon. I looked up the Jack Nicholson movie titles and saw “The Shining” title that led me to the quick cartoon solution. On another note, awoke to a little bit of snow, but not the heavy snow that had been forecast. Chuck.

    • Happy to hear you didn’t get hit hard with the snow, Professor. Hope we fare as well. 🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. Good morning. I had to look up the last two words but I did get a blind solve on the cartoon answer. Enjoyed all your posts today Angela. You never cease to amaze with all the information you lay out. Until tomorrow take care.

    • Good Afternoon, Paul. Thank you. It’s worth the work to know that it’s appreciated. Glad you enjoyed it all. Take care…and here’s hoping we avoid the snow. 🪓🙋🏻‍♀️

  9. An easy blind solve. The only word that wasn’t a quick solve was ASYLUM.

I’ve never seen The Shining, but I knew Jack Nicholson starred in it and that Stephen King wrote horror novels. So it was a slam dunk for me.
