Good Morning, Everyone…I hope this finds you well…
🌊THIS ONE’S AS STRAIT FORWARD AS THEY COME🌊
🎶 You say it’s easy but who’s to say,..That we’d be able to keep it THIS WAY? But it’s easier…Comin’ STRAIGHT from the hesrt…🎶 “Straight From The Heart” – Bryan Adams 1983 http://tinyurl.com/34uzwzht
🌊 A DITTY is a simple song, sometimes played on GUITAR,
But simple doesn’t cut it for our sailor feeling jarred…
A FRESH new day’s before them, waters of Chile clear…
(And comes to our AZALEA? No way it’s making it here)
This waterway before them…there’s danger that some dread…
Let’s hope they navigate safely now that it’s “STRAIT” AHEAD…🌊
Today…The STRAIT OF MAGELLAN http://tinyurl.com/2we4ur95 ..The solve? Easy enough to SAIL right through…So let’s get STRAIT to the point…
So…With Magellan http://tinyurl.com/yru7b9eh and Route in our question, giving us = Magellan STRAIT, a ship out on the ocean = STRAIT http://tinyurl.com/5xkazzx2 (as a noun), our sailor’s dialogue attesting to the well-know fact of it being hazardous to travel… (again) = STRAIT http://tinyurl.com/5xkazzx2 (as an adjective)…while he’s viewing its narrowness on the map…the Captain’s statement… = giving us AHEAD http://tinyurl.com/4nzfk9ps and not to mention the quotation marks, letting us know there’ll be some WAVEring with a word…GETTING THROUGH this one was clear SAILING from the moment we EMBARKED on this JOURNEY…The “sea route” was…”STRAIT” AHEAD… http://tinyurl.com/2enztabf ..And with a third ocean-related puzzle within four days, we WATER be able to do these with our eyes CLOSEd…
So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one,. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle was so simple….we’ll all have time to CHILE out today! 🌊🙋🏻♀️

👀 Practicing the little DITTY he’d written while strumming his GUITAR, his eye caught sight of the FRESH AZALEA bouquet placed upon the table STRAIGHT AHEAD…👀
🌳She was looking for some bushes, AZALEA…maybe rose,
She walked all through the aisles, they should be here, she supposed…
Flowers in pretty baskets, one shaped like a GUITAR,
And aimlessly she saw that she had now walked way too far…
A DITTY playing in her head, the FRESH scents all around,
So lost in thought she realized that she’d covered lots of ground
The clock telling it’s getting late, perhaps she’s been misled…
Are there no bushes?…Then she sees them standing STRAIGHT AHEAD…🌳

Wow ! What a fun jumble today ! I thank Suzie for getting 2 of the anagrams that played me no music with GUITAR , for me and sweetened it with a beautiful AZALEA ! The other two were right there ! The jumble was as STRAIGHT as magellan ! When we saw it and put it AHEAD Alf the game ! This was a fun jumble ! Everyone have a great start to weekend !!!!!!

We’ve seen other Magellan puzzles the last couple of years (I think), and therefore I run straight away for the word STRAIT…as I did today. The Jumble did not disappoint and it was an easy blind solve. No problem with the anagrams either, to start off a successful puzzle Saturday. Thanks, Angela, for your wise words, too !! Terry

in my paper the circles are in the wrong place. No E in FRESH or AZALEA, but the L is circles.

AZALEA gave the letters A A. The E needed to solve the puzzle came from the word FRESH. As you can see from the puzzle I’ve linked here, from the NY Daily News, the correct letters are circled. Any errors you’ve encountered are the fault of your papers’s printing, and you’ll need to address the issue with them. I’m sorry to hear that you’ve experienced a problem solving the puzzle, but we here have nothing to do with what appears in any newspaper.
There was a problem with the circled letters in AZALEA. The “L” was circled instead of the “E”.

The Jumble in the Lawrence Journal World is incorrect. The letters circled in fresh are the s and h, not e. The letters remaining to solve the puzzle (after strait) were ahald. People are not incorrect in what they’re telling you – there was a mistake in the version sent to some newspapers.

Where have I said that people are incorrect in what they’re telling me? I made no such statement. What I’m saying is that it’s obvious the parent company of a number of papers DID make an error in their printing. That error will obviously be reflected in any paper under its umbrella. We here have nothing whatsoever to do with the publishing of any puzzle. We just do commentary. I was nice enough to include a link to what the correct puzzle looks like. That’s all I can do. And again, the issue needs to be taken up with the particular papers in question.

Regardless of what you believe to be the case, there were mistakes made. Not your mistake – the answer was obvious except the letters didn’t work. You might not be responsible, but how would a Jumble submitted to many newspapers have mistakes in only some of them?

As far as responsibility goes, AGAIN, we here have NOTHING to do with ANYTHING that appears in any newspaper and/or online version of the Jumble. All we do here is offer commentary. How, what or why some papers printed an incorrect puzzle is as much a mystery to me as it is to you. But since the puzzle appeared correctly in what looks to be any puzzle under the Tribune Publishing umbrella, the fault seems to lie with whatever company parents the remaining papers. Where the error originated, I have no idea. Which is why I’m suggesting contacting your own paper to lodge a complaint. There’s nothing more I can offer, and beating a dead horse, so to speak, here, isn’t solving anything. I can understand your frustration, but suffice to say it’s directed to the wrong place. 🤷🏻♀️

As they navigated the Strait of Magellan
The waves were wild and swellin’
They had no way to know
How this route would grow
As above the roar of the waves they were yellin’
From the Atlantic to the Pacific
This route is sure terrific
But in Magellan’s days
As they battled the sprays
The maps were less specific!
For sailors of recent years
There are far, far fewer fears
But as they exit the strait
With relief that is great
Their anxiety disappears!

So many comments about the E coming from FRESH. In my paper there’s an L circled in AZALEA, which doesn’t fit the puzzle. So it’s more logical that the mistake is with the wrong letter being circled in AZALEA. Circle should be shifted over 1 letter to the E. That being said, Hoyt and Knurek should be all over this error to figure out what happened. How do two different versions get sent to newspapers?

God, how I hope to put this issue to bed! 😂 If you read some of the previous comments, it appears that you’re not the only one with the AZALEA error either.
