Don’t wish anyone a “Happy” Memorial Day. This isn’t Christmas…and it’s not the same as Veteran’s Day….so prefacing a greeting with the word “Happy” is so out of place. Today wasn’t instituted in joy, it’s a day of solemn contemplation marking how high a price was paid to allow us to have abundance on our tables…and to enjoy the freedom that we’re so blessed with as Americans. It’s not just a day for huge retail sales, barbecues and fireworks. It’s a day of remembrance, that affords us the privilege and opportunity to reflect upon the ultimate service paid by our fallen brethren….and to thank them for how their sacrificed lives allow us to have and enjoy the ones we have today. So, in the spirit of that remembrance, as we gather today, I wish Everyone…especially those of you whose families were called upon to pay that ultimate price…a Blessed, thoughtful and peaceful Memorial Day…And more so today than ever before…May God continue to Bless America…🇺🇸🙋🏻♀️

Good morning. The words were easy breezy and seeing the cartoon answer partly in quotation marks I farmed it out to my youngest son and daughter-in-law and within a minute they came back with the answer I think I should get some credit because I was smart enough to know my limitations. Thanks for a great post regarding today’s holiday Some people just don’t seem to grasp what we went through to keep our freedom. Until tomorrow take care.

Easy solve but got me thinking about the origin of “peachy keen,” and learned it is teenager slang from the ’40s and ’50s. Asked AI to correlate with slang for today’s teens and got fire, lit and slaps. I don’t like any of those. What would we GenX’ers say? Cool, awesome? Oh and remember gnarly? I never liked that word. Ill stick with cool.
