  1. Good Morning, Everyone…I hope this finds you well…

    ⚾️STRIKE THREE…BIG BIZ…OH WHAT A RELIEF IT IS…⚾️

    🎶 Whenever you call me, I’LL BE THERE..,Whenever you want me…I’ll be there…Whenever you need me…I’ll be there, I’ll be around…🎶 “I’ll Be There” – The Spinners 1973 https://tinyurl.com/ypmvt2dr

⚾️They brought him in to save the game, the win was on the line,

He’d FIXATE on those last three outs, and things then would be fine…

Some RUMOR was heard here and there that he would sometimes choke,

    The manager knew differently…that rumor?…Up in smoke…

The bottom ninth…no WHIMSY…no sitting on the FENCE,

This save for sure is do or die…he’s out there for defense

And sure enough he brought the heat…the catcher’s yelling, “Phew”!

Yes, a relief it surely is…’cause he definitely CAME “THREW”…⚾️

I think I should PITCH something out to y’all…I’m hoping you realize that probably 90% of the time, the solve to these Jumble puzzles, especially the ones in quotation marks, will be an idiom. If you just concentrate on that, guaranteed you’ll get an easy WIN…

OK…Today, we PITCH our weekend off WHIFF a different type of GAME than we’ve been seeing these past few days. Today, it’s Baseball. And with the Jumble team looking to secure their win, they’ve brought in their relief pitcher, WINston ChurcHILL…And he not only CAME prepared, he lived up to his name. Got out there on that HILL and followed THROUGH with some beautifully THROWN pitches, for the WIN…He definitely CAME “THREW” https://tinyurl.com/euv7b2by …An easy, breezy, well-known idiom…and we’ve brought another one HOME…

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of my friend…I think you may remember him…whose cousin was visiting from Europe. My friend, before taking him to his first Baseball game, gave him a stack of selected Baseball cards to look through. The cousin said, “You know I can’t read English”…And my friend said…”That’s ok…you can just look at the PITCHERS”…⚾️🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 👍🏻Despite all the RUMOR and WHIMSY, he CAME THROUGH for them once he got off the FENCE and made up his mind to FIXATE on the situation…👍🏻

🤦🏻‍♂️They would FIXATE on a RUMOR, and of course trouble would start,
A FENCE put up ‘tween parties…and they all played a part…
What should have been some WHIMSY resulted in a gap,
And just like that a problem landed in everyone’s lap
Such foolishness for grown adults…letting dissent accrue…
Thank goodness for one level head…who finally CAME THROUGH…🤦🏻‍♂️

  3. …AND IN OTHER WORDS…🔠🙋🏻‍♀️

  4. ⚾️Comes to ninth inning and things could be tense,
And relief pitchers bring the defense…
    They are needed to close,
    To give the old adios…
    And there’s often a lot of suspense…⚾️

🤦🏻‍♂️Some come in with a substantial lead,
    And they’re there…but crucial’s not the need…
But there can come those times,
    When that mound pitchers climb?
It’s because the team may start to bleed…🤦🏻‍♂️

🤷🏻‍♂️Starting pitchers some times have bad days,
And perhaps his team makes some bad plays…
    That’s when relief’s called in,
    Hoping through thick and thin…
    They’re going to throw with a blaze…🤷🏻‍♂️

👍🏻And today on the mound things got tough,
Win is needed to get through the rough…
And he brings the high heat,
    Shows that he can defeat…
Anyone trying to call his bluff…👍🏻

🧢 So it’s caps off to our Win today,
He stepped up and kept batters at bay…
    The win’s under his belt,
And I’m sure that he felt…
Happy to hear that old “Hooray”!🧢

  5. cannot believe there are people like me doing this puzzle early in the morning

  6. Good morning. What better way to start the day over coffee. No problem with the words or cartoon answer. But no blind solve. Enjoyed you song choice Angela. Until tomorrow take care.

  7. Pretty miserable day at the races….or should I say the baseball game. No blind solve for me, though Marsha got this in a jiffy. More humbling, I had to look up FIXATE before trying to solve…and even then, Marsha had to give me the first word !! We’ll see if tomorrow goes better. Have a great Saturday. Terry

  8. I came home from the local diner this morning and got the blind solve right away. Thank you for the link to the Spinners song. I enjoy seeing those old videos. Good memories. Thank you for your tip on the idioms.

    Have a great day

    Stan

  9. After double checking and pausing on the spelling of rumor and whimsy, the cartoon was a virtual blind solve, though I thought relief as in ‘relief pitcher’ might be part of the final answer. Happy Saturday to all. Chuck.

  10. Had a great Saturday jumble to cap the week ! Anagrams were good , had to cheat a little on FIXATE ! The jumble was everything you said it was , Angela ! The pitcher who throws a baseball ! With quotations, and CAME was left ! Nice way to baseball-cap the week ! As usual , your song by the spinners was good and a very informative post ! Everyone have a great day !!!!!

    • Tks, Jim. Question: What website do you use to get the Jumble? ⚾️🙋🏻‍♀️

      • After midnight , the Dayton Daily . Before midnight , whatever’s available , usually ones that show the anagrams , and jumble but no cartoon , can’t think of one right now , I’ll look and see !

  11. This position has a very apt name

    In a sometimes nail-biting game

    It’s an enormous relief

    And prevents terrible grief

A last-minute loss would be such a shame!
