  1. Good Morning, Everyone…🪨 ROCK AND TOLL? 🪨

🎶 ROCK STEADY, Baby…That’s what I feel now…Let’s call this song exactly what it is…🎶…”Rock Steady” – Aretha Franklin 1972  https://tinyurl.com/4wfzycv6

🪨His heart was in the right place as he was GOING in,
But now nerves feel like WIRING…’cause much to his chagrin…
He just can’t seem to get to BLEND these shrubs within the dirt,
A KNIGHT in shining armor…not…he’s feeling less his worth
Yes, his intentions were noble…and he did have that true grit…
But truth be told…with all these rocks? He’s just not DIGGING IT!🪨

Poor guy…looks like he hasn’t even SPADE a dent! SOD, really…

So…Today…the home of ROCK Hudson, and his wife HOLLY Hunter. And Rock, being the STAND UP guy that he is, told Holly that he’d plant = DIG shrubs for her. But finding himself caught between a ROCK and a SHARD place, he’s definitely not LIKING = DIGGING what’s taking place. Because after he gets just one done, he can’t for the life of him DIG a deep enough hole to stand the second shrub in…and there’s more to ROOT…I mean boot…The BOTTOM (no pun intended) line? Rock’s definitely not DIGGING IT https://tinyurl.com/mf9j7d4  What SHALE he do???

So…There you have it, Folks…Done. Another easy, breezy puzzle to kick start our weekend. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of my friend who tried his hand at landscaping but didn’t do well. So he then decided to start a HEDGE fund…But unfortunately he just couldn’t get that off the GROUND either…Needless to say it’s all been a bit MULCH for him…and now he’s feeling like he just can’t BANK on anything…🪨🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. …AND OUT OF THE ARCHIVES…The puzzle of September 1st, 2015…”He got a job building a moat, but he wasn’t”…DIGGING IT …🔠🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 👍🏻Surprised that he was DIGGING IT, the KNIGHT costume fit perfectly…with its BLEND of chains and WIRING…and the Halloween party was GOING well after all…👍🏻

🖊️ GOING through the essays, the teacher had to laugh,
The use of the word WIRING…each time of course a gaffe..
Some writing did BLEND nicely , a KNIGHT’s life understood,
But here and there an odd one…and hard to find something good
So obvious who did pay heed and who just chose to sit…
Resulting now in failure versus the ones DIGGING IT…🖊️

  5. 🌳 Comes to landscapes, one needs to take stock,
Have your property best on the block,
    It takes planning and grit,
If you’re going to do it…
    In one shot…and make it a lock…🌳

🪨 Needing shrubbery and extra sod,
All the toiling takes toll on a bod…
    If there’s rocks bedded deep.
    Then for hours you’ll keep…
    Digging deeper into the facade…🪨

    🌳Hitting rock always causes delays,
Getting past them one must find a way…
Since the holes need be deep,
    So that roots easily seep…
And the shrubbery’s planted to stay…🌳

🤦🏻‍♂️We see Rocky who steadily toils,
But his blood’s slowly starting to boil…
    For he had no idea,
    There’d be rocks under there…
And right now he’s feeling definitely foiled…🤦🏻‍♂️

🤷🏻‍♂️Here’s to hoping that he finds a way,
To get all the shrubs on display…
    Since he promised his wife,
    But now facing this strife?
Poor Rock just might call it a day…🤷🏻‍♂️

  6. Just got home from watching the Tyson / Paul fight and I was so up from that , I wanted to post the jumble ! So I am definitely DIGGING IT for this Saturday jumble ! It helped smooth over Thursday and Friday’s jumbles ! The anagrams were all there ! The jumble with planting shrubs requires to dig , and with all the G’s and I’s , I saw it right away ! Great way to cap off the week Saturday! Also a perfect song choice Angela ! And your friend that’s a landscaper was a good one also ! It’s always good to see one Branch out ! Great way to end the week with a positive jumble ! Have a great weekend !!!

  7. I’m joining others in your readership about the simple Saturday Jumble. The big giveaway was seeing all the G’s in the anagrams. Funny story about the landscaper, too. All in all a great way to start the weekend. Thanks, Angela. Terry

  8. Well, I guess he wasn’t so smart

If he’d known right from the start

That to dig and to dig

Is just not the best gig

And he can’t give this job his whole heart!

  9. Good morning. Easy breezy Saturday jumble with even a blind solve. Sort of makes up for the past two days with failures. I dig Aretha Franklin but I didn’t dig that song Angela. I do enjoy you gracing my kitchen table every morning while I have my breakfast. It would be boring without my jumble family. Until tomorrow take care.

    • Good Morning, Paul. Tk you. Me and those blueberries…a winning combination! Take care! 🫐🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. Easy Jumble. I’d never heard “Rock Steady” by Aretha Franklin but I certainly remember the song of the same name by The Whispers and have always hated it. Why? It is the song that woke me up for the first day of school in the 4th grade. I was so sad that summer had ended.

  11. Today’s Jumble, being easier than Friday’s, yielded the elusive “double-blind solve.”

I use the online version which makes it easy to work on the anagrams without seeing the cartoon. I did rely on the solution letter and word count. This yielded ‘it’ and ‘ing’ which left ‘digg’ and then, voilà, the answer.

No slight to cartoonist intended — just looking for a way to make Jumble more challenging 😉

    • .
..And a lot of us solve without ever looking at the words…there’s all different ways to challenge oneself when it comes to the Jumble…🪨🙋🏻‍♀️
