  1. Good Morning, Everyone…🏈 TOE-ING THE LINE! 🏈

…🎶Yeah I GET A KICK out of you…🎶…”I Get a Kick Out Of You”- Mr Frank Sinatra (original recording 1954)  https://tinyurl.com/bdd2tjnd

🏈 It’s looking like it did CLICK in…the CANYON punter said,

His extra leg work paying off…his worries definitely shed

(And PICKET bites the dust here, it just don’t make the cut,

The puzzle deals with Football and a man out of a rut)…

Put money where his MOUTH is…no more punts will he botch…

Here’s to helping out the Canyons…key was KICK IT UP A NOTCH!🏈

With the NFL regular season at its close, and playoffs on the horizon, today’s puzzle is a timely one…And since there’s nothing TURF about it at all, one can have a FIELD day with it…If only they were this easy REFEREE day…

So…Today we meet the PUNTER https://tinyurl.com/4ujb2m8f (= KICKER) for the Colorado Canyons. And having had some trouble recently with his follow through, we learn that he’s committed himself to EXTRA training in order to stand UP and deliver…and it looks as if he’s definitely gotten a LEG UP on things…Our solve? With PUNTER and MORE in our question, LEG and EXTRA in our dialogue, and our cartoon POINTing out the football as our player KICKS IT UP in the air …this one’s OVER and done with …Our guy attempted to…KICK IT UP A NOTCH https://tinyurl.com/3m2y5nfx …And we’ve achieved our GOAL here today…we’ve SCORED another WINNER…

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And I just need it be known that me writing this frivolity by no means takes away from how I’m feeling in the face of such devastation in California. My heart is broken…and there are no words…🏈🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 🗣️When word of MOUTH let it be known that they intended to PICKET over the CANYON situation, at first it didn’t CLICK…but they quickly decided to KICK IT UP A NOTCH once they realized the severity of the issue…🗣️

🤞🏻The beauty of the CANYON left his MOUTH agape for sure,
The house nearby with PICKET fence now did appeal much more
He hoped it would CLICK with his wife…and the sale not be botched…
And he knew that the time had come to KICK IT UP A NOTCH…🤞🏻

  4. Got a late post tonight ! I watched Ohio state beat Texas and head on to the college championship and then played a few games of pool at our local club celebrating that win ! What a great way to end the week Saturday ! Wow ! The only anagram that made gave me trouble was CANYON ! But the jumble with the kicker , gave me the first word KICK! Then , at first , I was looking for A Field Goal ! But then it came to me to KICK IT UP A NOTCH ! 5 words ! I was very happy and pleased ! Great way to end the week ! And yes , Angela my thoughts are with you on the California tragedy ! I’m really with them all ! Let’s bring on Sunday funday !

  5. Out of the starting gates, saw it most probably starting with KICK IT and took a wild guess with a correct guess. That and a Sinatra classic made my Jumble morning a success. Saw the front page of our paper report 10K structures burned in California. Words can’t describe such devastation. Terry

  6. It took me a few minutes to come up with Canyon and then the rest of the solution just fell into place. Yes Angela. Watching the footage from California is so heartbreaking.

  7. Good morning. It took me twice as long to get the last word than the other three words combined. Once the letters were put down and presuming (we know what happens when you assume) the first word was “Kick”, the rest fell into place. As always Angela. (Well, not always) enjoyed your song choice. Until tomorrow take care.

  8. Canyon gave me trouble too and had to back it in. I wonder why some words just pop out so easily while others don’t. Guess it has something to do with pattern recognition of letters? The harder words deviate more from the usual pattern? Just a guess.

    • I agree with your word pattern suggestion. My guess is that it’s mostly related to word origins. For example, if the word is of Greek origin, the spelling is more likely to be non-stardard English spelling.

  9. I was intimidated at first by the multi word, multi lettered cartoon, but having solved the anagrams quickly, even the canyon one, the cartoon solution was a quick solve! Prayers for all affected by the California fires. Chuck.

  10. I came up with KICK UP A, but couldn’t think of the last word. I solved the jumbled words and saw it was NOTCH.
