  1. Good Morning, Everyone…🎶Jim Dandy🎶

🎶Come on Baby…LIGHT MY FIRE…Girl we couldn’t get much HIGHER”…🎶 “Light My Fire” – The Doors…Actual performance on “The Ed Sullivan Show” 1967 https://tinyurl.com/4ukfnvht

🎶’Twas the time of British INFLUX…the groups came to our shores,
But this group was American…went by the name, The Doors…
OUTRAN some of the others, and simply with a GLANCE,
They mesmerized the women… and Ed Sullivan took a chance…
The man not easy, BREEZY…a stickler in most ways,
The ASPECT of offending Folks rose over a song’s phrase…
And so to speak the “HEALTH” of Ed’s show started to balloon…
He banned a phrase but “The Doors” refused to CHANGE THEIR TUNE…🎶

September 17th, 1967…the one and only time “The Doors” https://tinyurl.com/5ed3r6hw appeared on “The Ed Sullivan Show”… https://tinyurl.com/5xucccs2 …singing “People Are Strange” followed by what turned out to be the very controversial, “Light My Fire”. https://tinyurl.com/4hvkzzsn   Why was it the only time?…Because Ed got so FIREd up! https://tinyurl.com/6y8j9eap

So…Today…Directly offstage at “The Ed Sullivan Show”. And we see an enraged Ed hardly going LIGHTly on Jim Morrison, https://tinyurl.com/48kr7su2 the lead singer of “The Doors”, over song lyrics from their #1 Hit, “Light My Fire”, that Ed deemed offensive. The lyrics? “Girl we couldn’t get much higher”. Seems “higher” was taboo…since Ed felt it related to drugs…Imagine what he’d think of lyrics today? He’d be LITvid! Anyway…Morrison agreed to alter = CHANGE the line, but didn’t…he sang THEIR TUNE just as it was written…and Ed was so FIREd up, he went ballistic…as you can see in Jeff’s amazing cartoon…And Jim was like…well, Jim was Jim…As far as he was concerned? They weren’t going to…CHANGE THEIR TUNE https://tinyurl.com/5drx6p6e  …And the rest is Music History…

Jeff’s💎Gems? The dialogue’s amazing…Jim’s actual response, Ray saying, “That guy’s strange” …a reference to their aforementioned opening number…and John and Robby’s being the definition of not CHANGING one’s TUNE. And his images of, top to bottom:  Ed Sullivan, Jim Morrison, John Densmore, Ray Manzarek, and Robby Krieger are equally amazing…But look closely at the background. Above the drums and organ, below the camera at top right, you’ll see the hanging backdrop of assorted actual doors…which set the stage that night…Jeff’s definitely on FIRE with this one…

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And here’s to the 60’s…which today seems like LIGHT years away…🎶🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 🦆With the INFLUX of geese…who easily OUTRAN anyone trying to catch them…at a GLANCE it was obvious that the ASPECT of the harmful effect they would have on the area’s HEALTH wasn’t going to be an easy, BREEZY fix…and the town council would need to CHANGE THIER TUNE…🦆

💨 The day, extremely BREEZY, at a GLANCE easy to tell,
Pollutants in the area… the INFLUX sure to swell…
The ASPECT of a poor effect on one’s HEALTH…talk began,
Environmentalists’ concerns? So far they’ve def OUTRAN…
    …Whatever plans they put in place…they need adjust…and soon…
It’s obvious that all involved need quickly CHANGE THEIR TUNE…💨

  4. What a good Sunday Funday.! All the anagrams were there for me. ! The jumble was a little tough cause I was really thinking too deep , so I kept it simple and knowing Jim Morrison , l tried CHANGE and that got me to TUNE , and THEIR was left ! I was very happy ! And of course that had to be the song choice ! It’s good to have this start of the week Sunday with a positive way to go !im ready for Monday to continue solves all week ! Everyone have a great Sunday Funday !!!!!

  5. Certainly no DOORS fan here….so kind of glossed over the puzzle, though I knew first word was probably CHANGE. Yes, I remember that episode and how heated Ed got after they agreed, but never changed their tune. Of course it was the tumultuous late 60’s for sure !!! Had trouble unscrambling first four anagrams, but finally managed. From their an easy solve. Wonder what brought up that episode for a Sunday Jumble ?? Enjoy your Sunday, Angela. Terry

  6. 3 strikes and you’re out! That’s what happened to me as I struck out on 3 anagrams: aspect, outran, and influx, but despite lacking the letters from those anagrams, I managed a blind solve of the cartoon. Chuck.

  7. We’re not changing a single word

To do so would be absurd

    We won’t change our tune

    Not anytime soon

And that is what you’ve just heard!

  8. The first three words were solved slowly, but I got them all. For the answer, I guessed CHANGE THEIR song. So close. The letters left after the first two words let me find TUNE.

  9. Good morning. It took a little time to get all the words and like Dennis I had the blind solve with the third word being song. Once I got all the words down it became clear that the last word was tune. I remember the controversy with Ed Sullivan and give them credit for not changing their lyrics. I’m not a fan of what they projected but if you’re against it just tune them out. Until tomorrow take care.

  10. ☮️ Times were so different back then,
The who and the why and the when…
    Ed Sullivan had weight,
    But that day…tested fate…
He challenged the wrong group of men…☮️

    👍🏻Jim Morrison rebel for sure,
Lead singer for the band “The Doors”…
    He wouldn’t be told,
    What to do…rather bold…
    Determined though not to endure…👍🏻

    🤷🏻‍♂️…Restrictions that he felt absurd,
Such nonsense over one small word…
    So Jim went on stage,
    Did enough to enrage…
    Ed Sullivan…and this occurred…🤷🏻‍♂️

🗣️…“The Doors”…they were banished for life,
‘Midst all of the uproar and strife…
    But they shook it off,
    Jim Morrison scoffed…
The tension that cut like a knife…🗣️

🎶 If anything it brought more fame,
Now everyone knew them by name..
    They’d not changed their tune,
‘Twas no rack and no ruin…
    Music history it all became…🎶

  11. Paused at outran but the other anagrams were solve quickly. Saw “change” right away then figured out the rest without difficulty . Have a good Sunday all! Betty
