Good Morning, Everyone…🛗A VERY PRESSING SITUATION!🛗
🎶 HARD PRESSED we can FIND A WAY…Night is almost gone, it’ll be ANOTHER DAY…If we’re HARD PRESSED we can find a way…🎶…”Hard Pressed” – Hot Rize 1986 https://tinyurl.com/ms9c5435
🛗 The buttons that are CHOSEN, get beat up every day, The ASPECT though of over-use needs to come into play… Poor buttons DRANK it all in, but they feel so abused, To GUARD themselves, impossible…hence they are not amused They’re hoping the repairman can help what they’ve addressed… Life’s definitely not easy…for these buttons so HARD-PRESSED!🛗
You gotta love it when David gives us a puzzle with these charming anthropomorphic characters…and Jeff LIFTS our spirits by taking it UP a notch with his witty repartee…
So…Today, two elevator buttons, UPton Sinclair, and Robert DOWNey, Jr. who feel they’re getting the SHAFT…and the repairman, Tom SCREWS, from the “VERTICAL Finds Repair Company”…trying to RISE to the occasion. Beat UP from the constant WEGHT of their job, these buttons can’t help but lay DOWN their sorrows…hoping that Tom can alleviate their PRESSure…and keep them from being DRIVEN UP THE WALL…They’re ready to RAISE the roof, and if STEPS AREN’T TAKEN to make their lives better…they just might come DOWN with something that’ll put them OUT OF ORDER…And that’ll definitely leave a lot of Folks HIGH and dry…But thankfully, Tom’s not conDESCENDING and he’s LEVELing with them…Let’s just hope he’s not STUCK for a solution…and doesn’t end up letting them DOWN…The BOTTOM line here today? With “repaired often” = HARD in our question, and “PUSHING = PRESSing in Robert’s dialogue? These buttons were…HARD-PRESSED… https://tinyurl.com/mj328tws And how UPLIFTING to have FLOORed, I mean scored another solve to an easy, breezy puzzle…
Jeff’s💎Gems? The mouths on the buttons…and the logo on Tom’s cap..⬆️⬇️!
So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of my friend whose phobias are on a whole other LEVEL…He’s so afraid of elevators, for example…Thankfully though, he’s been TAKING STEPS to try and overcome it…But of course he still has his UPS AND DOWNS… 🛗🙋🏻♀️

Didn’t get a blind solve, for sure….but yes, after the fact…didn’t think of the word PRESSED. And should have. Oh well, retreated to the anagrams, and solved the first three, but then got tripped up on ASPECT. After a short eternity, finally unscrambled that poser, and solved the puzzle.
Thanks for the D-Day remembrance reminder….wow, 80 long years ago and such a tumultuous time in history !! Terry

🤦🏻♂️He sat and DRANK it all in, feeling HARD-PRESSED by the ASPECT that he might be CHOSEN to GUARD the warehouse…🤦🏻♂️
🙇🏻♂️Every ASPECT has him worried, and now he’s on high GUARD, Whatever it is out there…it’s eating up his yard… He watered…the ground DRANK it in, he’d CHOSEN the best sod, This year it seems like gardening is proving to be hard What should be a relaxing task has gotten him too stressed… He needs solutions really quick…’cause now he’s way HARD-PRESSED! 🙇🏻♂️
⬆️ With the struggles of everyday life, We all deal with our own bit of strife… But to these buttons here, They are making it clear… That their “ups and downs” definitely are rife…⬇️
🤦🏻♂️Robert and Upton have had their fill, Held it in for a while, until… It so “raised” their ire, It’s come down to the “wire”… They’ve had it with this climb “up”hill…🤦🏻♂️
🔘Being subject to day-by-day use, They’re fed “up” with the constant abuse… They can’t spring back no more, And they can’t just ignore… The “pressing” issue so profuse…🔘
🤞🏻So they’re looking for Tom Screws to aid… …Them with this…it’s a major crusade… Their “fingers” are crossed, That hope isn’t lost… And that Tom knows some tricks of the trade…🤞🏻
👍🏻So it’s now “up” to Tom to come through, Find a way to help…long overdue… “Raise” their spirits somehow, With a way that allows… “Uplifting” today for these two! 👍🏻

Boy , this Thursday made me really thirsty for 2 anagrams and the jumble ! I had to look up CHOSEN and ASPECT ! Yes , I should’ve taken a break and then came back and that might’ve worked , but next time I will ! Wow , the jumble just didn’t come to me at all ! For elevators not to work properly, I was thinking Up or Down or any kind of movement ! This one just didn’t click for me ! Now I’ll have to get some sweet tea and quench my thirst ! Cute joke Angela ! And your explanation of the jumble was informative, im just having one of those nights ! So let’s move on to the end of the week , Friday

The aspect anagram had me stumped but having solved the other anagrams and having those letters, led to a quick blind solve of the cartoon, on this solemn 80th anniversary of the D Day invasion. Chuck.

Good morning. I was stuck on two words, the second one I had Durag which is a word but didn’t show so in checking I found the simple word Guard. Being stuck for the last word I went to the cartoon and had a blind solve of Hard-Pressed after a few minutes of reading the hints over and over. To make the blind solve complete I needed an SPE Which worked when I finally got Aspect. Until tomorrow take care.

Like Paul, the last word gave me trouble. I decided to try to solve the puzzle, and had a blind solve. That gave me the letters I needed to get ASPECT.

At first glance I thought “pushed” might be in the answer but lacked the proper letters of course. Did see pressed so was able to get the rest. I too paused at aspect but eventually figured it out. Have a good Thursday all. Betty
