  1. Good Morning, Everyone…🚙 A WHEELY GOOD DEAL 🚙

🎶 Baby, you can drive my car…Yes, I’m gonna be a star…Baby, you can drive my car…And maybe I’ll love you…🎶 “Drive My Car” – The Beatles 1965  https://tinyurl.com/nk8b3zs4

🚙When mass production came to be, a NIFTY price was seen,
The cost of Seven-Eighty? Just had been too much green…
The “Model T” once out of reach to every average Joe,
Now did become a household name…and sales began to grow…
The “OUTAGE” pocket, so to speak…(I’m trying to use our words,
And ANYHOW I’m canning DROLL…right here they seem absurd)
Assembly line the rescue…and it became well known…
That selling for Two-Ninety? People could “A-FORD” TO OWN!🚙

Ok…Show of hands…Who amongst us doesn’t think “FORD” as soon as we hear “Model T”?  https://tinyurl.com/mryy62js I’m sure very few of us…Which makes this puzzle an easy, breezy RUNaway…

So…Today…1924, and a couple, Jack PENNY and his wife, Fanny PRICE, on the lot of the FORD Motor Company, speaking with a salesman, Lionel BUYryMORE. And while Fanny’s excited, but maybe not exactly SOLD on the Model T, Jack knows a barGAIN when he sees one. And at $290, he’s impressed, listening to Lionel talk about the inROADS that have been made….and he realizes that he AUTO go for it, ‘cause the Model T is a car he can now “A-FORD” TO OWN  https://tinyurl.com/2xvyxtch …Almost 10,000 cars a day, thanks to the Assembly Line? Cha-Ching! GAS things can’t get any better than this! And as far as we’re concerned…those quotation marks were right on the MONEY…So, we find ourselves SEDAN pretty this morning…and there’s no reason to be CRANKy over this one today…

    Jeff’s🙋🏻‍♀️Gem? WHEY off in the background…a horse-drawn milk wagon…

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of my friend who definitely has to be the worst driver out there…wrecking one car after another. In fact after he destroyed his last one he proved that yes, a Mercedes BENZ…Anyway, now low on funds, and needing to buy yet another car, he told us that he walked into his bank, and asked a man sitting at the first desk he came to if he could be directed to the loan officer. And when the man told him that the LOAN arRANGER was out, my friend then asked if he could speak to TONTO…And suffice to say, we STOPped him right there…

  2. 🤷🏻‍♂️Speaking in a DROLL voice, he told them…”After the OUTAGE, we couldn’t AFFORD TO OWN anything ANYHOW…but it would have been NIFTY to have some extra money”…🤷🏻‍♂️

🎭 His act was always very DROLL, a NIFTY trait he felt,
And ANYHOW it suited him…he def raked in the gelt
So that night when the OUTAGE hit, and you could hear the moans…
    He said…”We need a generator…but can’t AFFORD TO OWN”.🎭

  4. 💲Major purchases can be a drag,
‘Specially ones with a hefty price tag…
And when a car is sought,
    It’s not easily bought…
Because first there’s the zig and the zag…💲

🚙 But back then in the car days of old,
Wasn’t much to say, the truth be told..
    Market prices were steep,
    And most Folks digging deep?
Just wasn’t the way people rolled…🚙

    🤷🏻‍♂️Cars a luxury more than a need,
    People’s concern…their families to feed…
    So owning a car,
    Def was raising the bar…
And most times a sign of wealth, indeed…🤷🏻‍♂️

    👍🏻1924 and we can see,
Jack and Fanny and the Model T…
And with a big price drop,
It’s not just cream of the crop…
As the average Joe joins in the “we”…👍🏻

🍷Here’s to Galamb and Farkas and Wiils,
For their expertise, insight and skill…
    The “Tin Lizzie” a hit,
    And it now did permit…
A new band of Folks to be thrilled!🍷

  5. What a great way to follow a Friday to get a perfect jumble to cap the weekend Saturday! Only one anagram had me raise an eyebrow ! But I got it ANYWAY ! The rest were awesome ! The jumble with the Ford and the one letter-dash-four letters were there to give me A-FORD TO OWN ! And a model T helped ! And yes , I’m raising my hand for that Model T ! And Angela , another Beatles song and also one of my favorites ! You really know how to cap these jumbles like that ! I love it ! I have to let out a little personal thing about me ! I was in the auto business for 35 years as a finance manager , so this one really hit home ! And when your friend didn’t see the Loan aRanger and asked to speak to Tonto , made me laugh out loud ! Angela this was a great jumble Saturday and everybody have a great day !!!!

  6. Like you said, it was an easy, breezy Saturday morning Jumble…with the FORD jumping out at me. All the anagrams were there to check my work, too. All too funny puns about the car crasher made today’s Jumble a real treat. See you Sunday. Terry

  7. Good morning. Another follow up like yesterday. No problem with either parts of jumble but I still avoided the blind solve. Should have given it a little more time before putting the letters down. Loved your trail mix pun Angela. On the Jerry, Vale, and Frank Sinatra choice he’s just thinks Vale does that one song better. Until tomorrow take care.

  8. I was so proud of myself, thinking I had the blind solve with A-Ford To Buy. Then after solving the anagrams, I saw the last word was Own. Oh well. I laughed at myself and then enjoyed reading your post. Have a great weekend everybody.

    Thanks

    Stan

  9. After a pause on droll, I had all the letters and went on to the cartoon, thinking the ‘blind’ solve was a ford to buy, rather than a ford to own, but looking at the available letters, saw the error in my ways. On another note, went to the movies yesterday to see the Reagan movie and highly recommend it. Chuck.

  10. I also thought the last word was “buy”.

Very funny joke about the loan arranger!

  11. Two words took me slightly longer today which were anyhow and outage. “Anywho” popped in my head immediately but see that is a colloquialism and not a real word. Was surprised to see “Anyhow” isn’t a colloquialism as well. As for outage, words with more than two vowels give me trouble. ANYWHO, have a great holiday weekend everyone!

  12. Nice and easy puzzle to start off the holiday weekend. Have a good one all! Betty 🚙
