  1. Good Morning, Everyone!          🍷 HEY….SIP HAPPENS! 🍷

🎶 I got a BLIND DATE waiting to come around (any minute now)…Oy but I’m nervous listen to my heart pound…Why do I need this HEADACHEsingle is not a crime..I got a BLIND DATE...And with my luck…he’ll be on time…🎶 …”Blind Date” – Ms Barbra Streisand 1975 https://tinyurl.com/

🍷She’d really love to DITCH this guy, he’s def WOUND like a clock,
    Complaining about everything…with him it’s all a knock…
It’s definitely not a BANNER date, she’s not fit as a fiddle,
This guy Beau’s really boring…the stuff that makes a good RIDDLE
Sherry can’t miss the irony, about the dates called blind…
‘Cause Beau? No clue…And she can’t stand being so “WHINED” AND DINED…🥤

So…Since today’s solve is a repeat from a past DATE, https://tinyurl.com/cwyxbddc and we were just in a restaurant yesterday, I’ve decided to double up too, and figured I ORDER do the same. I’ve tweaked and  recycled my post from February 22nd, 2020…

Ok, so…before we begin. My song choice. I have a feeling it may not fare well with some of you…But I’ll explain. I never understood blind dates, but that’s just me. I know people who’ve lived to talk about them, and I even know of people who were swiped right off their feet…But me? Uh, no. I’ve never indulged…So any time I hear about blind dates, and disastrous first dates, and letting 🎶”your finger do the walking through the awkward stages…”🎶, I always think of this song. Silly, yes…campy, yes…but let’s face it, Folks…nobody WHINES like Barbra…Anyway, that’s why this little gem from the Broadway sound track of “Funny Lady” immediately came to mind when I took a look at our puzzle this morning. So I just hope you stuck it out past that dragging little overture, and got a laugh…Let pinot in the comments…

As we sit down with our puzzle today, we find two Jumble characters whose tempers appear to be rising. But for totally different Rieslings…Our guy, Beau Jolais, seems to be the epitome of sour grapes, definitely not the type to bottle up his emotions…While our damsel in depressSherry Fino, can’t understand what makes him tick. In fact, she’s reading between the wines, and we can overhear her asking him right out, in black and white, about his track record…He’s definitely gotten her seeing red…I mean, let’s face it Folks…she got dressed up, probably dabbed on an expensive scent…and went out thinking she’d have an enjoyable night. Instead, she’s sitting here with a guy who’s gotten her so Bord..eaux my! And she’s probably telling herself no way rosé! She’s by no means an any port in the storm kind of woman. Glass half-full? Glass half-empty? At this point…she’s probably better off just leaving it a Rhone…Talk about a pourdecision…It’s chilling if you ask me…This whole night has just been a cham…Pagne-full as it is to admit…“WHINED” AND DINED? https://tinyurl.com/27zy4z4f Please…He needs to put a cork in it…

Jeff’s 💎 Gems?… It’s pretty much blanc. The normal FARE…Fish and a steak…And a happy couple at back. I wish I could just say, Que Syrah, Syrah…only it just seems too much of a mortal zin

So, there you have it Folks, Done! Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And I’ll leave you with a little quote I heard once that seems to fit the bill today…“Men are like fine wine. They start out as grapes, and it’s our job as women to stomp on them and keep them in the dark until they mature enough into something we’d like to have dinner with...” (And please note, this opinion expressed does not necessarily reflect those held by the management…) 🍷🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. …AND OUT OF THE ARCHIVES…

    1 – The puzzle of February 22nd, 2020. https://tinyurl.com/cwyxbddc …

    …And before that…

2 – The puzzle of May 12th, 2016…”When the kids complained at dinner, their parents were being”…WHINED AND DINED…JNYEO! 🔠🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🤦🏻‍♀️Instead of being WINED AND DINED, he took her to a local pub, the “BANNER”, where she WOUND up ready to DITCH him, as she had to sit through some silly contests all night, listening to one RIDDLE after another…🤦🏻‍♀️

🤷🏻‍♂️They assigned him to carry the BANNER, a job he’d love to DITCH,
But he signed up for this RIDDLE Club…and  couldn’t cause a hitch
He’d hate to WOUND his fellow men…he’d never be unkind…
His only thought right now though…to be later WINED AND DINED…🤷🏻‍♂️

  5. 🤷🏻‍♀️Comes to blind dates…most times a crap shoot,
Just not knowing…is enough to boot…
But you give it a shot,
    Hoping have…not have not…
Praying there won’t be any dispute…🤷🏻‍♀️

🤦🏻‍♀️You go out thinking this should be fun,
Sometimes faced with a guy in a bun…
You think, “I can get by,
    Hair doesn’t make a guy”…
But before long the trouble’s begun…🤦🏻‍♀️

🤦🏻‍♀️Sherry thought things would turn out alright,
    But she’s having a miserable night…
    This guy Beau just complains,
    And it’s putting a strain…
    On a date that’s turned into a fright…🤦🏻‍♀️

👎🏻‘Tween the food and even the locale,
    Beau’s whining’s becoming ‘fatale’…
    Sherry’s appetite wanes,
    With this man who complains…
She just can’t see any rationale…👎🏻

🤷🏻‍♀️Here’s to hoping she gets out unscathed,
‘Cause right now she’s feeling quite the daze…
    And the second date line?
    Sherry’s definitely defined…
If there ever was one…it’d amaze! 🤷🏻‍♀️

  6. Nice cap on Saturday to end the week of fun jumbles ! Today’s anagrams were all there for me ! I didn’t have trouble with any ! The jumble was really cool and fun ! The guy was complaining and I also said to myself , what a whiner ! I said oh my , and with the quotation marks it fit real nice ! Then the other two words came right to me.! I couldn’t believe I got it and was so fun ! Angela you really had a deep post of everything ! Your song choice by Barbara Streisand was appropriate , she has a beautiful voice ! What a way to cap the week off ! Your information on the same jumble from years past was very interesting and this one was good ! So everyone have a great Saturday and bring on Sunday Funday !!!!!

    • Tks, Jim…And today, two mentions of “capping the week”? LOL! You’re definitely beating that dead horse! It’s the weekend…enjoy it! 🍷🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Good morning. Eureka, I finally got a blind solve. Todays jumble was easy breezy on both ends. Nothing more to say on that. Enjoyed all your post this morning Angela and your song choice was appropriate for todays theme. I’m with you in that I never was on a blind date. I was lucky enough to have my true love since we were children. Until tomorrow take care.

    • Eureka, indeed! LOL! Good Morning, Paul. Tk you. And yes, you were definitely lucky in love…Take care. 🍷🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. Excellent and prolific post today…you covered a wide range of subjects in a very interesting manner. Don’t remember much about Funny Lady and will go back and refresh my memory later. Didn’t work too hard on a blind solve, but started the anagrams and as I was writing the letters down, the puzzle solution magically appeared. Such a sad cartoon….with the whining baboon. She should have UBER’ed her way home. Terry

    • Tk you, Terry. I think you’ll find that the soundtrack isn’t that of “Funny Girl”, …but it is Barbra. We make concessions, right? 🍷🙋🏻‍♀️

  9. Not a blind solve today but, just like Terry, it came to me as I started to write down the letters. I went on one blind date back in the 1970s and I promised myself I would never do that again !

Thank you for a fun post today. I was laughing the whole time while reading.

    Stan

    • YW, Stan…we can all use the laughter! And tk you for your kind words…🍷🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. Read the puzzle caption with all of its whiny comments, glanced at the anagrams and saw lots of letter d’s and thought I remembered a solution like this before. I was correct and had an easy blind solve! Then easily saw all the solutions to the anagrams. Have a nice day! Alan in GA

    • 👏🏻👏🏻! Kudos for remembering the earlier puzzle, Alan. Jumble “radar” at work! Enjoy your day! 🍷🙋🏻‍♀️

  11. I initially stumbled on the riddle anagram thinking it was drilled, but after sorting that out, the cartoon was a rather quick solve on a sunny Saturday morning. Chuck.

    • One more note, I met my wife of 55 years on a BLIND date, so they can work out! Chuck.

      • Congratulations to you both, Professor! Wishing you many more to come! 🍷🙋🏻‍♀️

  12. Let this be a lesson to all

Don’t think you hold someone in thrall

    With your personal whining

    It spoils fine dining

And it’s a sign of a mind very small!

  13. Easy today, including a blind solve. Blind dates don’t usually work because the persons setting them up see one compatibility but not all the incompatibilities.

    • I agree, Dennis…Shades of “The road to hell is paved with good intentions”! 🍷🙋🏻‍♀️

  14. Did think it was a bit tricky. First of all I had “Barren” not “Banner.” Concentrated on the 2nd word – figured it had to be “her” or “and”- then figured one of the other words probably ended in “ed”

Kept staring at the glasses of wine🍷🍷 I always tell people, don’t forget about the cartoon, there are always hints! All of a sudden “whined and dined” popped into my head, but I was stuck with the two r’s! But it was such a perfect pun I went back and realized I had the wrong letters🤣
