🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♀️These researchers hardly INEPT, I’m sure top in their field,
But SASSY, WIDGET, URCHIN? There just wasn’t any yield…
I’m thinking maybe here today, this puzzle just might test…
Your patience…leaving some of you…def Jumble “SIGH-ENTISTS”! 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I’m hardly into Astronomy, and I’ve never had a desire to WARM up to the subject, so I’m pretty much out of my ELEMENT hAIR…out in the COLD when it comes to DARK MATTER… https://tinyurl.com/2xb4xyrs …Actually, I’m totally out in left FIELD. In FACT, the closest I may ever have come to even hearing it spoken of is from watching the TV show, “The Big Bang Theory”… https://tinyurl.com/2p8m6za4 …but as always, I’ve given you a link should you choose to STUDY up on it..Bottom line? There’s no way I’m shedding any LIGHT on this one hAIR…So…don’t FAULT me…
Ok…Today, we find ourselves amongst a group of Astronomers…or perhaps they’re Particle Physicists…again, I’m in the DARK. But in the spirit of full DISCLOSURE, I’ll tell you exactly how I saw the LIGHT when it came to today’s solve. Stubborn as a mule https://tinyurl.com/mv6xtj3a when it comes to not using the letters to DISCOVER any day’s answer, I did sense a strong AIR of familiarity with the puzzle… (which turned out to be right on the money)…but I still had to STUDY the cartoon and dialogue to get it. And I credit Jeff for letting me see the LIGHT. While our question gave us “experiment” and “researchers” = SCIENTISTS wasn’t that much of a stretch…but the word itself wasn’t fitting any which way into the answer’s circles. But then I realized there were quotation marks…Ah, ha! …I hadn’t even looked…So, with the inclusion of “failed”, and the word FAILURE running amok on the researchers’ screens, the wheels started turning…And then the LIGHT bulb went off… https://tinyurl.com/3b3ync36 …I studied the faces…and the ‘dropped jaws’ https://tinyurl.com/n83bjvbt on each of the characters gave it up. Jeff nailed it! …They were all stunned, and SIGHing…= in disappointment…And bolstered by the dialogue of “time…wasted”? …Voila!…The researchers were…”SIGH-ENTISTS” …And this solve was put to TEST..I mean rest…(Along with that silent “C” that always seems to bug me a little)…And once again, we’ve no FAILURE hAIR today!
Jeff’s Gems? I’m sure the various graphics in the drawing are well-suited to Dark Matter, Jeff makes a point of paying close attention to detail. But as I’ve mentioned, it’s all Greek to me…What I did notice though is that the character who spoke is wearing an ID showing not only his picture, but also the same image as displayed on the wall to his left…I tried taking a shot at RESEARCHing it, but TBT, it was a LIGHT effort…Suffice to say it has to SYMBOLize something pertinent…
Oh, and full disclosure again…I should mention that 3 of the Early Birds totally FAILED when it came to Widget…and another one simply SIGHed and completely gave up on the solve…
So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And right now all that MATTERs is me getting myself an extra large cup of DARK roast…and with today being National Goof Off Day, I think I’ll just SPACE out for a while…🙋🏻♀️
*Yes, it’s “Cry, Baby, not ”Sigh, Baby”, but it popped into my head so quickly, I just couldn’t resist…And besides, let’s be honest hAIR…who doesn’t wish they were slow dancing with a loved one to this great old song right now…Think about it…enjoy it…you can thank me later…❤️🙋🏻♀️

👨🏻🔬The SCIENTISTS actually felt slightly INEPT listening to the SASSY little URCHIN speak about her knowledge of a WIDGET…👨🏻🔬
👭🏻The SASSY teenage sisters proved they hardly were INEPT,
Quite capable of caring for the sea URCHIN they kept…
It lived within a fish tank that held a cute WIDGET,
And they pooh-poohed anyone who said it hardly was a pet
With a love for Oceanography, they were def up to the test…
To pursue a future studying to become SCIENTISTS…👭🏻

Definitely a stretch to our imagination this morning…even with difficult anagrams solved.
saw a possible SIGHT….or SIGN….but got no further. Credit Jumble masters giving a very cryptic puzzle. Enjoy your TGIF, Angela . Terry

I got the puzzle.without a problem. I was looking for a four letter word that fit and came up “Sigh” which ties into disappointment. After that, the rest was a piece of cake. Urchin was the most challenging word to unscramble. In this case, I’m happy to be in the minority!!! Steve from Toronto.
Wow ! Not a good one to end to end the work week Friday ! I’m not gonna be negative , but this was the very first jumble I’ve seen where the anagrams and the jumble were at a “give-up” state of mind ! Only one anagram came to me , and it made me , SASSY ! Now the jumble , I saw Insisting , Tight , and Testing , but I couldn’t get it ! I’m with you Angela for a dark roast of coffee ! So please Saturday , come to the rescue !!!!

Good morning. Got to admit the boys had to throw a hard one in there after my complaining they were way too easy. Like the researchers, I had total failure. I was unable to get the last two words and completely lost on the cartoon answer. But I did enjoy racking my brain out trying to solve it all. It keeps me humble. Thanks again Angela for your post and putting a face to the songs that I’ve heard but have no clue as to the singers. I enjoy doing this every day as you are never too old to learn. Until tomorrow take care.

Good Morning, Paul. YW, It is fun putting faces to the artists…and yes, it’s fun also to tax our brains now and then. Glad you enjoyed it all…Thank you, take care, and have a good one. 🙋🏻♀️

I do the jumbles every morning over coffee. This morning’s was by far the “WORST”Note: I’ve never responded before & have been doing them for years

It was a bit of a stumper, but you’ll note that the same theme and solve were used in a past puzzle. It’s definitely a clever one! 🙋🏻♀️

Yikes, from widget to the cartoon, not a Good Friday Jumble , though I did solve the widget anagram. Wishing you all the best. Chuck.

This one had me sighing for half an hour. I don’t like feeling inept at solving the Jumble. I thought ‘dark matter’ was the key phrase, but no, it was the cartoon (scie)ntists mouths. Hah!

Why not “sigh-intests”?
Loading...
Simple…Because sciENTISTS is spelled as such…🙋🏻♀️
Loading...
Yes, but experiments are “tests”. It would have been a double pun and accurate spelling had already been compromised.
And the online version I use would have made do the entire jumble over again just to reverse the two letters.

But saying “intests” doesn’t describe the researchers, which is what the question was asking for…”the researchers were”…Scientists…🙋🏻♀️
