Good Morning, Everyone… 🐙 EIGHT IS ENOUGH! 🐙
🎶 I’d like to be under the sea…In an OCTOPUS’S garden in the shade,,,🎶…”Octopus’s Garden” – The Beatles 1969 https://tinyurl.com/4x7mcdn2
🐙 This Octopus def not INEPT when it comes time to dine,
WHILE one might have their hands full…to it it’s all just fine…
It has a steady STRING of food, its appetite voracious,
And its not one to hide it…as you see it’s quite loquacious…
(No need for DRAGON in this verse)..it’s Octopus the winner…
It’s happy as a clam as we see how it “EIGHT” ITS DINNER! 🐙
Hmm…Dragon…Yes, of course it looks familiar, we’ve unscrambled it just four days ago…But let’s not CARP on it…it’s WATER under the bridge…and besides, we have bigger FISH to fry…So let’s get KRAKEN…
So…Today, once again, we have another whimsical anthropomorphic character, and another puzzle SERVED UP on a silver platter…While technically Octopi https://tinyurl.com/2p8dbsp5 don’t have “tentacles”…they’re said to have 8 arms…or 6 arms and 2 legs…(I’m not going out on a LIMB to say for sure).… https://tinyurl.com/4sdjjtjd the appendages are often referred to as such. So for ARMgument’s sake, let’s go with it. Our question then, gives us a huge clue = “EACH” TENTACLE = COUNT them…And if that didn’t give it up for you, between the cartoon, showing the EIGHT arms/legs, our dialogue telling us that LUNCH didn’t fill it up, which leads us to DINNER, and the tell tale calling for a word in quotations, you had to BITE….With each “tentacle”, the Octopus…”EIGHT” ITS DINNER! …And we got SQUID of another one in record BRINE!
The menu?…Left to right..,A sandwich 🥪, a taco 🌮, a carrot 🥕, what looks to be popcorn 🍿…or perhaps popcorn shrimp 🍤, a hot dog 🌭, pizza 🍕, a burger 🍔, and sushi 🍣…Good REEF! …INKcredible!…And while any one of us would be crying,…”KELP’!…this thing must have an IRON stomach!
So…There you have it, Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And I hope you all had an easy enough time solving today…I’d hate to see anyone up in ARMS! 🐙🙋🏻♀️
I’ve heard it said that the plural of octopus is octopuses or octopodes, not octopi.

🐉 WHILE the child was trying to convince her toy DRAGON that it was time it ATE ITS DINNER, her older brother made a few INEPT stabs at trying to change a guitar STRING…🐉
🤷🏻♂️The movie is “Pete’s DRAGON” and WHILE it isn’t new,
They have a STRING to catch up on, and tonight this is due…
About an INEPT couple who fostered a young boy…
No sooner has it started when their dog rips up its toy
It causes Dad to stop the film…shaking his head at Spinner…
The dog chews on a toy…when it’s time that it ATE ITS DINNER! 🤷🏻♂️
This is Jim and I was just a little thirsty today ! Knowing that an octopus has eight tentacles, gave me EIGHT right away ! But I couldn’t figure out the remaining letters , so I thought it might be a word that ended in ING ! So I saw and tried Interesting , but there was only three letters left D,H,and I ! Well that didn’t sound right , so I got half of ITS DINNER ! The anagrams were all there except I took a GANDOR at the DRAGON , and rolled my eyes ! Another fun jumble that made me thirsty on Thursday ! And Angela , as I’ve alway said before about how I really like the Beatles, that song has always been my favorite ! And how appropriate for today ! I can’t stop singing it , even as I’m typing this comment ! Everyone have a great thirsty-Thursday !!!!!
Tks, Jim 🐙🙋🏻♀️
Unlike Jim, I thought the answer was XXXXX HIS DINNER, and didn’t glom onto the EIGHT tentacles. Oh well, another half blind solve. Also saw that DRAGON used twice in the last few days, but unscrambled anagrams for the solve. Unfamiliar with that Beatles song, but ever so appropriate. Not a lot of songs out there about octopi. Enjoy Thirsty Thursday.
Very few songs, indeed, Terry! I guess they weren’t worth the INK! 😉🐙🙋🏻♀️
Forgot my name…don’t want to be an anonymous octopus…Terry will be enjoying Thirsty Thursday at the golf course.
👍🏻 Enjoy, Terry..,🐙🙋🏻♀️
I suppose if it can EIGHT ITS DINNER, it could number anything, with any number, so it could just as well THREE ITS DINING. True, he has eight tentacles, but there are 56 ways of selecting three out of eight. It could even zero its dinner, because he does that when it gobbles it up.
I’m hoping the “three” is an attempt at humor, because surely you know it ATE its dinner…🐙🙋🏻♀️
Yes I do the land life form that most resembles an octopus is a three with eight branches coming from its trunk.
Good morning. I was able to get the words fairly quick and after putting the letters I saw dinner for the last word but couldn’t get the other two words and checking the letters I put down I screwed up. Still stuck I checked again and did the same thing. This time I gave up and just peeked ever so slightly. There is always tomorrow. Enjoyed your post Angela. Even with a magnifying glass, I had trouble seeing what was on his menu for dinner. Until tomorrow take care.
Good Morning, Paul. Tk you. And I’m only seeing the menu because I’m looking at an online puzzle…it’s impossible to see it from the paper alone. Take care…Enjoy your day…🐙🙋🏻♀️
Hi Everybody – I had “The” for my three-letter word but eventually ditched it because I needed the H for Eight. I made no progress at all until “Its” came to mind. Though we’ve seen His and Her as three-letter words, I can’t recall Its being used before. The song I see was written and sung by Ringo.
Caroline
Hi Caroline. Yes, of course it’s Ringo…there’s no mistaking that voice…but the song is listed as a Beatle’s tune…from their Abbey Road album… https://tinyurl.com/5x8m7za5 …hence, the Beatles! Good to see you. Take care! 🐙🙋🏻♀️
Thank you. I just read that George Harrison assisted Ringo on the song. Also learned that Octopuses actually do build gardens.
Caroline
YW! 🐙🙋🏻♀️
Tom Here. This is a perfect song choice, Angela! In Peter Jackson’s “The Beatles: Get Back,” there is a brief scene where Ringo is actually working on the lyrics to “Octopus’s Garden” and George is helping him with the chords. It was a collaboration and quite rare because Ringo did not have many lead vocals in the Beatles song catalog.
Hi Tom. Tk you. Sadly, Ringo was overlooked and under appreciated back then. Sometimes drummers tend to be. But he’s still with us…and he’s still an amazing talent. 🐙🙋🏻♀️
Well, this is really dinner for eight
I’ve got such a lot on my plate.
They can’t give me too much
Just seafood and such
I’m in a delirious state!
🐙 When lunch wasn’t enough to sate,
The Octopus gave it all eight…
A sandwich, sushi…
It’s a food frenzy…
Anything it could find for bait! 🐙
🐟The fish watching? In total shock,
As it takes a count of the stock…
Thinks…who eats like this?
Surely not most fish…
And reckons it’s a show of schlock! 🐟
🤷🏻♀️The Octopus can’t get its fill,
For it food’s a definite thrill…
Eats all that’s in sight,
To cap off its night…
I wonder if it would eat krill? 🤷🏻♀️
🐙I guess if you can, then why not,
Make use of the 8 arms you got…
A ravenous sort,
It holds center court…
And says…”Ah, this food hits the spot”! 🐙
🤦🏻♀️The bottom line? Easy to see,
An Octopus to a degree…
Can eat half its weight,
Leave nothing to fate…
A fate that would “krill” you and me! 🤦🏻♀️
I seem to be anonymous today. Oh, I see now what to do.
No idea for the cartoon solution despite having the letters from the anagram solutions.
Chuck.
I’m very good at solving the puzzles but today was a first. I got the anagrams, figured out eight and dinner but couldn’t get “its.” I kept looking at Sti, couldn’t figure it out a d looked up the word. First time I couldn’t unscramble a three letter word. I was looking for a his or her or, the but the letters didn’t work. Must have been a brain cramp.
That is hilarious. When I saw the three letters s, I, and t, I was also confused. I did figure it out, though.
Dennis
One more comment about octopi and their intelligence…a wonderful Oscar-winning documentary about a human forming a extraordinary bond with an octopus in the ocean is “My Octopus Teacher.” Yes, you will laugh and cry and walk away from that documentary film with a totally different mindset about this intelligent and curious creature.
I saw that, Tom. Very interesting…but they do give me the creeps. My Grandfather, Buon Anima, 💔 used to cook, and then, of course, eat Octopus. All of us grandchildren would cringe…🤦🏻♀️..they’re just an ugly species…dead or alive! 🤷🏻♀️
This was a hard one for me. After a long time, I found DINNER. Then, after more time, I saw EIGHT. This left ITS, which, as I commented above, also took a little while. My brain is working at half speed today.
Dennis
Hi Dennis…I’m a little confused with your comments…I’m not sure where you were replying to…and one entry seemed to be a repeat…but it’s not important. Anyway…I think you might be interested in seeing this…The word HIS was given that day as the middle word…but it’s not reflecting here…🐙🙋🏻♀️
