🎶I CAN SEE CLEARY NOW the rain is gone…I can SEE all obstacles in my way…🎶…”I Can See Clearly Now” – Johnny Nash 1972 https://tinyurl.com/yr4d3t52
👓 Within his STASH of lenses, a blending so DIVINE,
(And quickly ONION, PUDDLE…are definitely out of line…
They just don’t fit our theme here…I must make the decision,
To oust them)…Since this puzzle? What Ben Franklin HAD ENVISIONED…👓
Amazing the foreSIGHT old Ben had…He was 💯percent on the mark!
So…Today…Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, circa 1785…And we SEE Ben Franklin https://tinyurl.com/y6kk3dj2 and his cronies…and the FOCUS of their attention? Ben’s newly invented Bifocals. https://tinyurl.com/yc4z4v6h which were to become a boon to those NEAR AND FAR…Always a man of great VISION, Ben SAW the need for eyeglasses that would aid those who up until then needed two pairs…And not one known to CUT his losses, LIGHTNING struck, and he instead cut his lenses…in half…and voila! A BAR is born! A bar between a lens for people with nearsighted VISION and a lens for those with farsighted VISION also …Yes, Bifocals were to become as popular as Ben Franklin…HAD ENVISIONED… https://tinyurl.com/y8hw95zy ..And the KEY to it all was Ben’s being tired of switching back and forth between his own two pair of glasses…Guess we can say he was in the KITE place at the KITE time… https://tinyurl.com/6zkmajtf …And as for our solve? Nothing FARfetched here with this easy, breezy one…and EYE’m sure it didn’t take NEARly as long as you thought it would…
Jeff’s💎Gem? Ben’s walking stick…
So…There you have it, Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of my friend, who recently told us he’s thinking of FOUNDING a Christmas wreath making business, in memory of his FATHER… But his VISION is to make every wreath with only $100 bills…He intends to call it…ARETHA FRANKLINS…TBT? I was SHOCKED! And I told him so…But then again, he was always on to HANG his dreams upon a DOOR, I mean star…so I guess we’ll just have to wait and SEE what we shall SEE…But do I think it’ll PAY off? A wreath made of all $100 bulls? I doubt it…Can you foreSEE the cost? FRANKly, I think people will just tell him to go FLY a KITE…👓🙋🏻♀️

🤦🏻♀️ It was nothing like what she HAD ENVISIONED…the little cubbyhole she created to STASH her vegetables sprung a leak…either an ONION or the celery had obviously gone bad…and the odor while cleaning up the PUDDLE was hardly DIVINE…🤦🏻♀️
🤦🏻♀️ If it wasn’t she needed an ONION, she’d definitely not left the house, On her driveway she found a huge PUDDLE…enough to make anyone grouse… The day was DIVINE at the onset, but now it’s turned slowly to hash, She can’t believe not any onions… she always had some in her STASH… The rain’s coming down with a vengeance…the weather report? She’d not listened… Her plan today to make a rich stew…but all this?…Nothing she HAD ENVISIONED …🤦🏻♀️

👁️👁️When you’re stuck with a vision that double, And I don’t mean the kind like a bubble… Talking both near and far, The way eyes are marred… Of course it can cause someone trouble….👁️👁️
👓 Years ago there were glasses for each, And both needed be kept within reach… Glasses on, glasses off, Causing many to scoff… Prompting choice words to enter one’s speech…👓
❗️So annoying to switch back and forth, And complaining accompanied fraught… But then Ben? Idea struck, And we all were in luck… A solution is just what he brought…❗️
👓 And bifocals took eyeware by storm, So inventive as it became norm… Yes, the two now were one, And most people were done… With the old way of having conform…👓
🍷So to Ben we do lift up a glass, For bifocals that quickly surpassed… The old near and far, Yes, Ben raised the bar… By giving eyeware all new class!🍷
It took the unscrambling of the words before I could solve today’s puzzle. Maybe if I had known the first word…that would have helped. Anyway, solved the four words, picked out some letters for VISION and that was that. Wreaths made of $100 dollar bills sound expensive, although the name is catchy. Good song, Angela…thanks for posting. Terry

Bounce back Tuesday, after being stumped by the cartoon anagram yesterday, I was able to solve today’s cartoon even with the 10 lettered second word. Happy July First. Chuck.

I had a little hiccup this morning with the anagram Divine. People in my area pronounce it as De-vine. Once I got myself past that, I was able to finish the puzzle. Aretha Franklins ? Too expensive ! 😂 National Gingersnap Day sounds pretty good. Thanks for your post Angela. Have a great day, Stan

I think it’s an odd pronunciation, Stan, so I doubt you’re alone. Aretha…😂 You’re welcome, and thank you. 👓🙋🏻♀️

Good morning. I certainly didn’t envision solving the cartoon puzzle after getting the words but I stuck with it and finally came up with the answer. Another great song choice that goes perfect with today’s theme Angela. You do have to get new friends the ones you have are dumber than a door knob. In today’s times they steal your Christmas bulbs imagine how long the wreath would last but without them life would be dull. Thanks for a great read. Until tomorrow take care.
