..🎶 I’m wearing SECOND HAND hats..SECOND HAND clothes…That’s why they call me..Second Hand Rose…🎶 “Second Hand Rose” – Ms Barbra Streisand (original recording) 1965 https://tinyurl.com/2jzxsrf9
🪞The mirror wasn’t heavy, no TUSSLE did it cause, No FURROW on her brow at all…so no need to give pause… She loved the WHEAT tone of the wood, and the cost a good TALLY, It’s going to look perfect in the ship’s new painted galley ‘Twas sweet of him to try to help…but she said…”See about… …Your customer, I’m fine thank you”…and just SAW HERSELF OUT…🪞
Definitely didn’t need much REFLECTION on this one…A hard solve? SHATTER the thought…
So…Today…we find ourselves at “Dusty’s Treasures”…(And for a moment there, I thought the proprietor looked like the owner of an antique shop I’ve frequented in Florida…MIAMI TWICE, but I guess not)…Anyway, we SEE that Dusty has just sold a mirror to a customer, CARRY Fisher. And as she’s SEEN carrying it OUT, ALONE ( = by HERSELF), with her REFLECTION ( = SAW HERSELF) duly noted…this solve about a MIRROR couldn’t have been any simpler if it was written up there ON THE WALL…Carry…SAW HERSELF OUT*…And we’ve suffered no PANE here today…
Jeff’s💎Gems? Can’t help but wonder if his choice of name for the shop isn’t a reference to the condition of the goods…you know how Jeff loves to WIPE, I mean whip out the witticisms…Or maybe it’s a real place…Who knows…it remains untOLD…But there’s a rather familiar-looking portrait on the wall, a Greek-inspired pitcher, an antique clock, various animal pieces, one being held by the customer…and what might be an Olympic medal of some sort…I can’t go for the WIN though because I can’t really PLACE it…it doesn’t SHOW up very well…Anyway, the real treasure? The “I ❤️Jumble” mug that Jeff BREW…I mean drew…
So…There you have it, Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of my friend, who’s always rummaging around antique shops, and insists on greeting every salesperson with, “Hi…what’s NEW”…(To hear him tell it, it never gets OLD)…But recently he’s been complaining that he can swear his wife is covering his antique ITALIAN gun collection ( he’s always been a ROME-antique)… in GLUE. She denies it, but he says he’s STICKING to his GUNS…🪞🙋🏻♀️
Clever transition from “sort of Olympic medal” to horse betting. I liked it.-Dave

🤦🏻♀️ With the kids getting loud in the midst of a TUSSLE, trying to concentrate on coming up with the TALLY of how many WHEAT cakes she’d need wasn’t going so well…and as she felt her brow FURROW, she knew it was time she SAW HERSELF OUT of the room to take refuge somewhere else in the house…🤦🏻♀️
🙇🏻♀️The TUSSLE over WHEAT costs had reached a fevered pitch, It’s like they’ve dug a FURROW…and were sinking in the ditch… The TALLY of the angry Folks…the complaints and the shouts?… …Too much for her to deal with…so she just SAW HERSELF OUT…🙇🏻♀️

🪞And we see that our girl here today, Has definitely been ‘’CARRY-ed” away… Found a mirror with gold, A sight to behold… That she can’t wait to put on display…🪞
👏🏻👏🏻 So we’re wishing Carry all the luck, Hope she got the most bang for her buck… And the mirror will be, Finding new memories… (And she wasn’t taken for a schmuck)!👏🏻👏🏻
My thirst has been quenched ! What a great Thursday jumble ! All the anagrams were there except FURROW was snickering at me ! But the jumble was really good ! The first word that jumped out was SAW , and then I was thinking looking in a mirror , you see yourself or HERSELF, and then OUT was left ! This one came right to me ! That song by Barbara Streisand was a classic and it was a good fit , Angela ! This has been a good day and your post gave it a bonus ! Have a good thirsty Thursday and let’s have a TGIF ! !!

To me, both SAW HERSELF OUT and WAS HERSELF OUT seem equally likely; neither seem to fit that well, not as well as, say, CARRIED IT OUT HERSELF, which of course does not fit the cartoon clue.

I had WAS and OUT as well. Guaranteed I wouldn’t figure this Jumble out.

Good morning. Another successful completion on both With even a blind solve. Enjoyed your song choice Angela this one I was able to get. A Brooklyn girl that graduated from Erasmus high school. Until tomorrow take care.

This was a fun Jumble today. Took my time and solved the anagrams and then the letters for Herself just seemed to stand out for me. Angela, I was smiling the whole time while reading your post. Such a talented writer. Stick To Your Guns LOL. Thank you, Stan

If you take a moment to reflect
On what you love to collect
Could be more than you thought
(All this I have bought?!)
And you may have to be quite direct……
Brace yourself and ask just why
You feel compelled to buy
Every bright shiny thing
Be it mirrors or bling
Does it simply give you a high?
Helen

🤷🏻♀️If one’s money can “carry the weight”, (Pun intended …of course I must state)… Why shouldn’t one buy? What cause to deny? No reason to have a debate…🤷🏻♀️
🪞Note that “Carry” is hardly a child, She her leaving with such a big smile… And that mirror she bought? Probably something she’s sought… …To purchase a pretty long while!🪞
👍🏻 Spending money, yes, it can bring pleasure, And it looks like what’s at Dusty’s Treasures… Brought joy to our Lass, So why should she pass? It’s her happiness that one need measure!👍🏻
