  1. Good Morning, Everyone…🤷🏻‍♂️ALL THE NEWS THAT’S BIT TO PRINT🤷🏻‍♂️

    🎶You ain’t nothin’ but a HOUND DOG…🎶…”Hound Dog” – Elvis 1956 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNYWl13IWhY

🤷🏻‍♂️His wife, the Jumble ZEALOT, is taking it in stride,
While Skippy, the destructive pup, is trying hard to hide….
This tearing of the paper, it’s ORIGIN unknown,
The habit should be long gone…since Skippy’s now full grown…
Stan’s tired…just how many times can a man WRING his hands,
He’s ready to cry “UNCLE”…but it’s not what he had planned
He doesn’t know what else to do…he’s had it with this “bull”…
    And frustrated, his question?…Surely “RE-TORE-ICAL”!🤷🏻‍♂️

Uh…Why not just stop leaving the paper lying around? Skippy’s done this at least eight times before today…I CANINE…I mean I say nine times? That’s just ridiculous…

So…Today the home of Stan Dingfirm, his wife, Ro Loffmyback…and Skippy, the NEWS HOUND. And we see that once again, Skippy’s ripped up (=TORE) the paper. But obviously chastising him is falling on deaf TEARS…despite Stan DOGgedly trying to HEEL the deal. Let’s face it, Skippy’s just not BITING…and obviously HOUNDing him is futile…Poor Stan…he’s definitely BARKING up the wrong tree and unLEASHing his frustration to no avail…POOCH yourself in his shoes, Folks..its’s no WALK IN THE PARK..Yes, he’s definitely having a RUFF time…But we’re not…’Since the bottom line here today?…Asking Skippy if he ripped the paper? “RE-TORE-ICAL”* …And we’ve TORN right through another one…TATTER show the SKIPtics  who swear Friday’s puzzles are so hard…Quotation marks or not…

Jeff’s💎Gems? I can make out the Family Circus among the tattered sheets on the floor, Skippy has a piece hanging from his mouth, and of course, Ro’s holding the Jumble in her hand.

So…There you have it, Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe… And this puzzle reminds me of my friend who fell on hard times financially and swore his dog had a kind of COLLAR ID…as he dubbed it…because he not only sensed it, but empathized with him. When we asked how he could tell, he said the dog was constantly CHASING HIS TAIL, TRYING TO MAKE ENDS MEET…I swear…he tells the most far-FETCHED TAILS…And then he wonders why we always have a BONE to pick with him…🤷🏻‍♂️🙋🏻‍♀️

    *RHETORICALhttps://tinyurl.com/bdefma47

    CALIFORNIA ❤️

  2. 🤦🏻‍♀️ She knew that at any minute her UNCLE, the ZEALOT, would begin to WRING his hands in response to her RHETORICAL question…the ORIGIN of their inability to communicate going way back…🤦🏻‍♀️

🤷🏻‍♂️The ZEALOT said the ORIGIN would be hard to WRING out,
His UNCLE, on his Mother’s side, had told him all about…
…The man…said to be brilliant, and dubbed an oracle…
Yet known to ask the questions that were so RHETORICAL…🤷🏻‍♂️

  3. 🙇🏻‍♂️While training a pet is a must,
For some Folks it ends up a bust…
    Despite all the tries,
    There still sometimes lies…
    A few things an owner can’t trust…🙇🏻‍♂️

🗞️You def don’t want your paper torn,
Thought you had the old bull by the horns…
    But then once again,
    You enter your den…
And there ends your relaxing morn… 🗞️

🐶 Stan was thinking that Skippy’d be fine,
But here we have time number nine…
    Of a paper that’s torn,
    And a man who’s forlorn…
    Frustrated with his old canine…🐶

    🤦🏻‍♂️Yes, it’s looking like Stan’s had enough,
And now can’t help but coming off gruff…
    Been an long uphill fight,
With this dog who won’t bite…
The fact that he’s making things rough…🤦🏻‍♂️

🤷🏻‍♂️So we wonder just what it’ll take,
Is there anyway Skippy can break…
    This habit of his,
    What’s the analysis?
Stan needs answers for sanity’s sake!🤷🏻‍♂️

  5. Wow ! I had to close the work week off with a no solver ! I had some trouble with two anagrams , UNCLE and ZEALOT ! The jumble just didn’t come ! I had to look up the word RETORICAL and it was spelled RHETORICAL! I’m confused ! I didn’t think the quotation marks was a miss spelling ! I just didn’t come close to it at all ! What helped soothe it was your song choice by Elvis ! I actually sing that when I karaoke ! It’s fun ! And your post was very informative , I just didn’t see light ! So I’ll move on and conquer tomorrows , Saturday jumble ! Have a great TGIF!!!!

  6. The Jumble beat me today. I could not come up with Zealot. After that, I had nothing. Oh well. Thank you for the answers Angela. I’ll try harder tomorrow ! LOL Thanks, Stan

  7. Today’s Jumble took a large dose of thinking power to put it all together. Trying to solve the puzzle without anagrams, I thought maybe it started with RE….and I kinda knew TORE might fit somewhere. That’s as far as I got, and solved the anagrams to find I had ICAL left…and it finally all made sense. Great Elvis song, Angela. Thanks for a great TGIF post. Terry

  8. I do the Jumble to keep my mind sharp. Today’s was really using my brain. It took a few tries but did get it. I literally had to think outside of the box.

  9. Zealot almost stumped me and then having the letters , I came up with a comparable spelled answer for the cartoon: Re-tear-ocle! Chuck.

    • Hmm…🤷🏻‍♀️But you’re missing the whole idea of the brilliant pun for RHETORICAL! 🐶🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. Good morning. Back to reality. Took forever to get all four of the words. The last one took the longest to get. When it came time for the cartoon answer I went outside the box, under the box, on top of the box but still came up empty and went for the answer. Enjoyed your song choice Angela. My wife’s favorite singer when we were growing up. Thanks for the extra jumble as well. Until tomorrow take care.

    • Good Morning, Paul…YVW…And I guess you were totally boxed in! 😉 But I’m glad you enjoyed the rest of it. Thank you and take care. 🐶🙋🏻‍♀️

  11. Wow~today’s answer was a real thinker! The anagrams all came to me quickly but I had to walk away from trying to get the answer for a while. Then, I saw the word tear….which led me to think of tore and a light bulb came on!!! A fun puzzle today! Always love your blog, Angela! Thank you, Jaclyn.

  12. Wow it’s been awhile since a word, and the puzzle, stumped me. Had to go to the Tribune site for the first letter of Zealot, and needed RE-TOR before I figured it out. Pathetic on my part, but I give them credit for a challenging weekday puzzle.

Btw, a good song choice might be “Tore Up Over You” first recorded by Hank Ballard and The Midnighters in ‘56, and which I first heard by Jerry Garcia Band in ‘76.
