🎶It seems we stood and talked LIKE THIS BEFORE…We looked at each other in the same way then…But I can’t remember WHERE OR WHEN…🎶 …”Where or When” – Dion & The Belmonts 1959 https://tinyurl.com/ttbvetbd
🇨🇿They felt they hadn’t seen ENOUGH, so they went back again,
A “PLURAL” trip is always fun and they’re feeling quite zen… (And here’s where YEAST and BRASH get cut…this puzzle calls for less) Today’s concern…the sight-seeing, and noting the “PRAGUE-RESS”!🇨🇿
As soon as I glanced at today’s puzzle, I knew we’d BEEN HERE BEFORE…and there was no need to CZECH any notes…It was a piece of cake to simply PROGRESS to this solve…and start our weekend off right…
Today…Prague…. https://tinyurl.com/wrv3j6d4 the capital of the Czech Republic. https://tinyurl.com/k4r8rzmj . And we find our tourists, Richard HERE, and his wife, Annette BEENing, marveling at the “Dancing House”, https://tinyurl.com/mr2wa6tk completed in 1996. So between the extremely leading nature of our question, coupled with our dialogue of it not being there “20 years ago”, and “pictures with a phone” = PROGRESS, not to mention those tell-tale quotation marks, it’s safe to say that Richard and Annette haven’t CZECHed out this part of Europe in quite a while…and there’d been much…”PRAGUE-RESS” https://tinyurl.com/43p9ysdr since they were last here…And…CZECH-mate! We’ve put another one TOURIST in record time…Here’s hoping EUROPE for tomorrow’s challenge…
Jeff’s💎Gems? I’m no camera buff, so I can’t tell you if Richard’s a PROGRESSive thinker or not, and there’s the image imposed upon Annette’s phone. And of course, there’s “Ginger and Fred”…And a tourist’s waist/fanny pack is always a WELCOMEd SITE…
So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of my friend, who while visiting Prague sent us a postcard, reading…”Doing a lot of touring. Right now I’m feeling a little uneasy though….We’re passing a maximum security prison…and I never like passing bad CZECHS…” He does manage to BOUNCE a good one by us every now and then…🇨🇿🙋🏻♀️

…AND OUT OF THE ARCHIVES…The puzzle of January 14th, 2015: “Since their last trip to the Czech Republic capital, there’d been much”…”PRAGUE-RESS” 🔠🙋🏻♀️

👎🏻The discussion centered on whether or not the word YEAST had a PLURAL form, and after too many inane remarks from one too many BRASH students, no PROGRESS had been made…but the teacher had had ENOUGH…👎🏻
🤦🏻♀️The YEAST just wasn’t rising, she couldn’t fathom why, Some directions did read PLURAL…but did she go awry? She loves vibrant BRASH flavors…so did she go too far, Or maybe didn’t use ENOUGH of what was in that jar? She hates when it comes down to this…the more versus the less…. And she’s definitely losing patience ‘cause she’s making no PROGRESS…🤦🏻♀️
👫🏻Way back when in a milestone year, Those who held our couple quite dear, Chipped in for a gift, It gave them quite the lift… So in Prague one day they did appear…👫🏻
🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♀️Touring Europe they had a great time, With museums and boat rides and shrines… And they vowed to be back, But then life turned a track… And they found it hard to save a dime…🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♂️
✈️ Raised their children and the years went by, And their finances stayed cut and dry… But now the kids are grown, And again on their own? It’s Rome, Prague and even Versailles…✈️
👍🏻Back in Europe they’re doing the tour, Seeing things that they didn’t before… And they’re loving the sites, Be it daytime or night… They look forward to the trek du jour…👍🏻
🍷So to Dick and Annette…raise a glass, Touring Europe…and this time first class… Bottom line…more or less, Things have changed with progress… But their memories never shall pass..🍷
So much for a complete cap on Saturdays jumble ! The anagrams were all there except one and that was ENOUGH of that ! Now the jumble completely had me lost ! I didn’t even think of the progress ! It was out there and no where to be found ! This one really was just not there for me ! But as usual Angela your song choice was good and your friend who had an overdrawn CZECH ! Your post helped my struggle of finding the solution to the jumble ! So let’s have a Sunday Funday and get ready for an undefeated week !!!!!

The first part of the puzzle word (PRAGUE) was a give-a-way for me…which led to a blind solve. Czeched my work with fairly easy anagrams to put this puzzle to bed pretty early. Very clever word-smithing today, Angela, for a real, fun post. And it’s always a treat to hear an oldie Rodgers and Hart song. That’s a great arrangement from 1959. See you Sunday. Terry

Tk you, Terry…and I knew you’d appreciate the Rodgers and Hart as much as I.…It’s definitely a beautiful piece of the Great American Songbook. And its prestigious list of recording artists is mind boggling…🇨🇿🙋🏻♀️

Good morning. Had a slowdown on enough but got passed it with time to get the cartoon answer. Had Prague for the first word but needed the letters to get the last part. Enjoyed your song choice Angela and all your post. Until tomorrow take care.

I guess close only counts in horseshoes, but I got close to a cartoon solution today thinking it was Prague-sers rather than the Prague-ress solution. Chuck.

Yesterday, I mentioned I’d share how I got started on the Jumble and have some time this fine Saturday.
The year was 1995 and I was a senior in high school. It was the fourth quarter and I had study hall the last period of the day. I’d already been accepted to college and being somewhat of a good natured rascal I didn’t feel like studying and so caused some light-hearted mischief.
Loading...
The last straw was when I flew a paper airplane across the study hall and Ms. Hebert called my name and said I’d now be sitting across from her for the rest of the quarter. It was a bit awkward at first but eventually we started quietly chatting even though nobody else was allowed to speak. She would always do this puzzle in the newspaper which I learned was the Jumble and eventually allowed me to help. So the Jumble eventually became our daily bonding activity and I really looked forward to it. Over time other seniors got into trouble and had to join us up front at Ms. Heibert’s table. As with me, she eventually let them speak with her and it ended up being a great bonding experience. I didn’t read the newspapers for many years after and living in different countries always interrupted routines anyway. I’ve not lived in my hometown since graduating from college but since 2015 or so began reading my hometown newspaper, The Columbus Dispatch, on my Ipad first out of nostalgia then becoming routine. My favorite part of that routine is when I get to the Jumble and then the comics reminding me of my childhood and my favorite teacher Ms. Heibert. It is a perfect way to start the day. So you see, the Jumble to me is more than just a puzzle, it is something special. It reminds me of my youth, of my hometown and now is part of my quiet early mornings when it is just the puppy and I before everyone awakes.
