  1. Good Morning, Everyone…🌿WEED ‘EM AND WEEP🌿

🎶HARD TIMES are real, there’s dusty fields no matter where you go…You may change your mind ’cause the WEEDS ARE HIGH where corn don’t grow…🎶…”Where Corn Don’t Grow” – Travis Tritt 1996  https://tinyurl.com/mwmb8kku

🌿 The JOGGER and her husband were definitely stumped,
Their garden overcome with weeds…all over they were clumped…
What in the WORLD had happened…they’re definitely feeling stuck,
This is the NINTH year they’ve planted…but now they’re outta luck…
The Farmer’s Market waits for them …they’d hate to CANCEL plans,
But they’re not feeling confident…looking at these weed spans
The vegetables look poorly…despite all the soil they’ve turned…
But these weeds that are spreading? Talk about GROWING CONCERN!🌿

Ok…In the spirit of full transparency… being one to solve without use of the words…at first glance, my initial, fleeting thought was that the second word might be “problem”. I knew GROWING was the first word, that’s WEIGH too obvious, but I couldn’t SEED any idiom or phrase in relation to “problem”… So I re-read the dialogue, and GREW immediately where David was HEADed with this LETTUCE and tomato puzzle……And I SQUASHed my initial thought, and TURNED that CORNer …

SOW…Today we find ourselves in the garden of Harrison GOURD, and his wife, Elisabeth MOSS. And Jeff’s made it easy to SEED the GROWING CONCERN https://tinyurl.com/2yeftaxa on their faces…And as I mentioned above, the dialogue was PEPPERed with words that PLANTED CONCERN and the idiom into my HEAD…And LETTUCE be honest, Folks…the solve to this one was easy enough to TURNIP…

Jeff’s💎Gems?…Both Harry, with a bead of sweat on his brow, and Elisabeth are wearing gloves….And Elisabeth, on a kneeling pad, has a fistful of weeds…But it’s what Harry’s wearing that CARROT this drawing to the top for me…It’s the Red Hot CHILI PEPPERS vintage Asterisk T-Shirt https://tinyurl.com/2rw65c4 …Can’t help but ROOT for Jeff and his wit…

So…There you have it Folks…Done. And I was going to close by spilling the BEANS on one of my friends, but I’m BEET. It’s been a long week so far, and I’m longing for some PEAS and quiet….That’s what ‘MATERS most right now….So I’ll just let this ROMAINE as is…and KALE it a day…LETTUCE pray I’m feeling better tomorrow…🌿🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 🏃🏻‍♀️To the  young JOGGER the thought that she might fail her NINTH grade WORLD History course was becoming a GROWING CONCERN…and she decided it was time to CANCEL the unnecessary social activities and use the time to study…🏃🏻‍♀️

🤦🏻‍♂️ NINTH inning…the WORLD Series…the JOGGER so on edge,
He felt that he’d leap from his seat…and lean over the ledge
His friends threatened to CANCEL him as last batter took turn…
    They’re all nervous…that needed out? It’s def GROWING CONCERN…🤦🏻‍♂️

  4. 🌿You spend money and plant tons of seeds,
Doing your best to see to their needs…
But then out of the blue,
    What happens to you?
You’re at the mercy of the weeds…🌿

🫑🌽Between rows of the peppers and corn,
They’re popping up sure as the morn…
    You pull and you pick,
    You’ve no bailiwick…
    And you’re definitely feeling forlorn…🌽🫑

🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♂️And sadly, it’s day after day,
There’s just no keeping those weeds at bay…
You’re out there in the sun,
    Soon as day has begun…
And you still haven’t made much leeway…🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♀️

🥬🫛So today with our couple we see,
That they’re hoping their lettuce and peas…
    Don’t succumb to weed growth,
    While it’s killing them both…
‘Cause their crop now? There’s no guarantee…🫛🥬

🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♀️Here’s to hoping that Harry and Beth,
Don’t find themselves out of their depth…
    What they’re hoping to sell,
    Hasn’t all gone to hell…
Leaving both of them feeling bereft…🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♂️

  5. I am not thirsty on this Thursday ! All the anagrams were there , but I got lazy on CANCEL and looked it up ! I guess my patience was wearing on that one but the rest were there ! The jumble about weeds spreading brought out GROWING and the letters left was a CONCERN ! Great jumble this no thirst-Thursday ! Your song by Travis Tritt fitted right in ! And you were very descriptive on everything about weeds ! Get some rest and I hope you feel better Angela ! Weed all feel better then ! Bring it on TGIF and we’ll close the work week with fun and growth !!!!!!

  6. I can remember when you had to wait for the answer for the jumble puzzle in the following days newspaper. More exciting to play jumble back then.

  7. I was in a small rush this morning, didn’t see the obvious GROWING, so went right to the anagrams. Finished those off speedily and had the answers at my feet. Yes, get some rest, Angela….and thanks for your fun post. Till TGIF. Terry

  8. Whew, broke my slump with a Jumble solve of anagrams and even the multi lettered cartoon! I may be back! What say ye, Angela? Chuck.

  9. Good morning. Easily done today but no blind solve. Enjoyed hearing Travis Tritt for the first time and enjoyed your post Angela. Hope you feel better. Until tomorrow take care.

    • Good Morning, Paul. Tk you. And I’m glad you enjoyed it. Take care, 🌿🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. Good morning. Easily done on both ends but no blind solve. This is the second time I’m posting, yesterdays and my early post have not appeared. Must be a glitch somewhere. I’ll skip the rest and just say take care.

  11. For me, it wasn’t the weeds

    With their sneaky nefarious deeds

It was that wide-eyed little bunny

    That munched all my money

    And enjoyed those delicious feeds!

So I said to myself “That’s enough!

My approach is going to be tough

    From now it’s just blooms

    That rabbits won’t consume

That’s how I’ll call their bluff!”
