🎶 YESTERDAY when I was YOUNG the taste of life was sweet as rain upon my tongue…I teased at life as if it were a foolish game…The way the evening breeze may tease a candle flame… There are so many songs in me that won’t be sung, I feel the bitter taste of tears upon my tongue…The time has come for me to pay…For yesterday when I was young…🎶 “Yesterday When I Was Young” – Roy Clark 1969 https://tinyurl.com/ayr56myd
🏰 No Knight in shining armor, the squire was a CHOMP,
Sorry…a typo…what I meant was chump…a real big flop…
Assigned to build a moat, around the time of MIDDLE ages,
He caused a QUAKE of sorts from top brass down to all the pages
The water flowed in motion…not POETRY…it floated…
Aesthetics not the goal here…hence he surely was “DE-MOATED”… 🏰
The phrase “My home is my castle” comes to mind…but in this case WATER they going to do now? This young squire wasn’t even reMOATly close to WATER was supposed to do…While beautifully flowing water is akin to poetry in motion…there’s a time and a place for everything…and this chump definitely missed the BOAT with this one…(no pun intended)… …Ah, the foolishness of youth…Says he likes water?…WELL, he’ll definitely be dealing with it now…
So…Today…We find ourselves at King Arthur’s Castle, eavesDROPping on Sir GalaMAD and Squire MUCK, enTRENCHed in conversation. The topic? A TRENCH https://tinyurl.com/5ethm7rc = a MOAT https://tinyurl.com/ybx754bk that was supposed to have been built to protect the castle. But that’s a MOAT point now, because what we have here is a complete FALLure. Muck, a fan of waterfalls, definitely DITCHed the assignment, and as a result he’s aBOAT to find himself “DE-MOATED” https://tinyurl.com/yhdbf7j4 to chamber pot LEAKy …I mean lackey. https://tinyurl.com/27hdnn7j …And as for the much needed MOAT? SIEGE, Louise, RANKS for nothing, Muck… Not exactly a case of all’s SWELL that ends well here… https://tinyurl.com/3a6hdr7w Looks like it’s back to the drawing FJORD https://tinyurl.com/bdejpmaw for this one…
So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminded me of a guy from the neighborhood when we were growing up…He’d go around just randomly shouting “Moats, drawbridges, portcullises, armories, battlements”…all things you’d find in a castle. Then we found out that he had a condition…It’s called TURRETS… 🏰🙋🏻♀️

🤦🏻♂️ The POETRY CHOMP, I mean Champ was DEMOTED right in the MIDDLE of the meeting…causing a few of the other contestants to QUAKE in their boots….🤦🏻♂️
🌭 He watched the child CHOMP down on the hot dog, in the heat, Her Mother saw, it caused a QUAKE..she leapt up on her feet… These kids were only toddlers, no way near MIDDLE school, He should have known no hot dogs…for them it was a rule The “POETRY Picnic” halted…this could not be sugar-coated… He quickly was admonished …and most likely be DEMOTED …🌭
🤷🏻♂️While foolishness can come with youth, It also can give one the real boot… And our puzzle today, Definitely took on that sway.. And one hardly needed be a sleuth..🤷🏻♂️
🙇🏻♂️Our young squire set out on the task, (Chances are the lad carried a flask)… ‘Cause he def dropped the ball, Went on a free-for-all… Thinking glory is where he would bask…🙇🏻♂️
🧱GalaMAD asked that a moat be built, But our Muck here went off on a tilt… Thought he’d let water fall, But our Knight? Not enthralled… And now Muck is the bearer of guilt…🧱
🤦🏻♂️How Muck got it so wrong…hard to know, But he sure botched the job…as you know… Did the lad read the script? He was so ill-equipped… And he’s now at a serious low…🤦🏻♂️
🪣 So it’s chamber pots now as his fate, Since the job performed definitely third rate, And the lesson here learned, If you choose not be burned? Send a man out…avoid a debate…🪣

Nice to have an easy Monday blind solve to start out the week. While doing the anagrams, paused an extra few seconds on POETRY, and that was the only slowdown. I really enjoy Roy Clark, especially on his HEE HAW days…that was a fun TV show, and it’s always nice to go back and check out those 60’s programs. Good job, Angela. Have a great start to this week. Good morning. Slipping lately, I was unable to get poetry but after putting all the letters down from the words it was a no brainer that the answer was “ De-Moated”. Have to get ready for a doctors appointment so I’ll look later but having seen Angela’s song choice I just had to play a small sample of Roy Clark who I enjoy. Until tomorrow take care.

First Monday jumble that really had me feeling in the trench ! The anagrams were all there as smooth as they could be ! The jumble however had me trenched ! I just couldn’t get it ! Like I said , the first Monday , I’ll bet in over a year that I couldn’t get ! I guess it was just one of those days , but still fun as usual ! And I agree with Terry and Paul that Roy Clark adds to the jumble with his music , so I’m gonna get ready for taco-Tuesday and everyone have a great start of the week Monday !!!!!

Look, I don’t want any hassle
This moat protects our castle
No enemies attacking
No looting or sacking
So just be an obedient vassal!
Just keep it simple and plain
From fancy features refrain
We need a real murky trench
Emitting a stench
So our foes will retreat in disdain!
