  1. Good Morning, Everyone…%THEY COULDN’T CARE “LESS”…%

    🎶 I couldn’t care less…🎶…”I Couldn’t Care Less” – Mr Frank Sinatra (original recording) 1958 https://tinyurl.com/y8vpmwzx

% The chosen words we have today don’t really fit the mold,

With TURNIP, SLEIGH and JETTY…nothing “bankish” does enfold…

So I ELECT to pass them by, they just don’t pass the test…

We’re dealing with First Bank…and how they pay such LITTLE INTEREST!%

“More money in our couch”!…Talk about having a safety CUSHION to fall back on!

Today’s puzzle brings us to Main Street, USA, where BILL and FORTUNE SEEKER are seen walking past the ”First Bank”. And with our question giving us “less than 1%”, the placard stating the paltry sum, and the SEEKER’s RICH dialogue, it SAVES us from SPENDING no more than a MINUTE AMOUNT of time CASHing in on this easy, breezy puzzle today…It always PAYS to PAY attention to the details…

So, while the National Average Yield for savings accounts is 0.58 percent APY as of May 14, 2024, up from the 0.4-0.46% INTEREST that was being paid when this puzzle was submitted for publication, it’s still too LITTLE too late…No wonder Fortune mentioned her COUCH …you’ll never be SITTING on a gold mine at these RATES…And with SPEND & TELLER peering out the window, WITH DRAWN looks on their faces…it’s obvious our coffee drinking SEEKERS have LITTLE INTEREST https://tinyurl.com/ds3kvz63 in banking with them, And they’re not A LOAN…

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of my friend whose Grandfather held a large INTEREST in restaurants and always told him that he had a FORTUNE in his safe deposit box…leaving my friend the key in his will. So after his Grandfather passed away, he went to the bank, trembling with anticipation, opened the box and found an envelope inside, with a folded piece of paper. It read: “Good things are ahead for you. Your lucky numbers are 7, 10, and 14”…And needless to say my friend lost INTEREST in Chinese food shortly after…%🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 🤷🏻‍♀️The child showed LITTLE INTEREST cleaning up what fell from the tiny TURNIP SLEIGH she carried onto the JETTY…and surprisingly neither of her parents saw to ELECT her to do so…🤷🏻‍♀️

They went there straight from shopping…a SLEIGH ride was on tap,
To go home first they’d not ELECT, for time then they’d be strapped…
A TURNIP, pears and carrots fell from the bag they held,
A child who was standing near saw and she loudly yelled…
Prompting the man named Robert to say to his wife, Betty,
“Tomorrow there’s no shopping before we go to the JETTY”
Their schedule was tight…they’d need their pics to go on Pinterest…
With their views down…they worried about people’s LITTLE INTEREST

  4. I’m getting me some tacos ! This one saved my week from my yesterday’s miss ! All the anagrams , except one , and I am really disappointed in myself for not seeing that one , cause ELECT did not vote for me ! But the rest were there and that made it better ! And I was a finance manager for many years , so this was right up my alley ! So when I read below 1% interest , it showed LITTLE INTEREST ! I’m so taco happy ! And again Angela , as I’ve said before , you just can’t go wrong with Mr Sinatra ! Good choice ! I am smiling , but scratching my head on your friends envelope that his grandfather left him ! I’m sure it’ll be of interest ! Everyone have a great taco-Tuesday !!!!!!

  5. Am a little disappointed that I couldn’t figure out the easy first word in today’s puzzle. I knew INTEREST was a given, but had to do the anagrams to finish up….and even then, paused a bit on SLEIGH and TURNIP. Perfectly lovely Sinatra ballad for today’s puzzle theme and OMG, I can’t remember ever hearing it. Funny joke to finish, Angela….always a great post. Terry

    • Tk you, Terry. Sinatra, Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen…it hardly gets any better than this, right? And I’m glad you enjoyed the joke…%🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. When the bank pays interest so small

    It’s hardly worth it all

    To entrust them with savings

When all we get is the shavings

And they get a much bigger haul!

  7. 🏦 Banks today sit atop of the heap,
While consumers mostly try to keep…
    Their heads above water,
    That’s why people oughta…
Look for a bank not on the cheap…🏦

💲When it comes to money on the line,
Ways to see it grow over time…
    Is of utmost concern,
So the thought is to earn…
    High interest..the maximum prime!💲

    🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♂️Our duo…they’re not getting younger,
And of course can’t let things go asunder…
They’ve worked hard for their dough,
And to not see it grow?
    They’d be making a definite blunder…🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♀️

👫🏻So here we see Fortune and Bill,
Savvy enough to know the drill…
    Investing is key,
    They’re not looking to be…
On the losing side of money’s till…👫🏻

👍🏻And the lesson we learn here today,
If you’re looking for savings to pay?
    Be smart…shop around,
    It’s not that profound…
And “First Bank”? …Surely it’s not the way…👍🏻

  8. Nice and easy puzzle again today. Figured out “interest” first and then all those t’s led to “little”. Beautiful sunny day here, hope it’s pleasant in your little corner of the world too. Betty

    • 84°…and it’s not even June yet…Yikes! Enjoy, Betty 🔥🙋🏻‍♀️

  9. In the puzzle clue I would have used the word “and” rather than “but”. Just seems to make more sense to me. No problem with words or cartoon solution though. Alan
