    • Good Morning, Everyone… 🚧 DETOUR…ENT? NO WAY! 🚧

🎶 The long and WINDING ROAD…🎶…“The Long and Winding Road” – The Beatles 1970 http://tinyurl.com/bdhufetd

They were so DRAWN to a speaker who had pitched a great idea,
They decided to ENROLL today to see what they might hear…
They both ADMIT they’re skeptical…but unless they DETECT,
Some insincerity from him…it looks like hands on deck
And things were going smoothly ‘til a road block had occurred…
No worries though…with GPS? No cause to be DETERRED!

Ok…let’s make this quick…since with “weren’t” in our question, and “plan” and “no problem” in our dialogue…and the fact that we’ve been here before…I won’t STEER you wrong…this one is totally STRAIGHTFORWARD…

Today, two friends, WILL and DO…(short for Dorian) off to possibly find something interesting enough to RIDE home about…But their leisurely drive is interrupted by a detour. Not to be DETERRED, https://www.dictionary.com/browse/deterred they rely on their GPS which allows that right turn, to turn into a right turn…And with the definition of DETER = TURN aside…without BRAKEing stRIDE…they were able to STICK to their schedule…

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of my friend who lives in Carmel, Indiana…He took a detour the other day that ended up taking him through 6 traffic circles. He eventually got where he was going…in a ROUNDABOUT way…🚧🙋🏻‍♀️

    • 🤷🏻‍♂️Even though he could DETECT a bit of resentment when he went to ENROLL, he refused to be DETERRED…although he did ADMIT to his wife that he wasn’t exactly DRAWN to their air of exclusiveness…🤷🏻‍♂️

🤷🏻‍♀️They could only ADMIT five new members, and decided the names would be DRAWN,
Thinking this method would turn out safer…and no argument have chance to spawn…
They could still DETECT signs of displeasure, from some of those who did ENROLL,
There’s no pleasing them all, but at this point…looks like hands are tied… truth to be told
Yes, on merit it would have been better…in fact that’s what they would have preferred…
But decisions are made, it’s full speed ahead …and no way now will they be DETERRED! 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • 🚗Will and Do having set out today,
With visions of a new payday…
While they’re no way in hock,
      The sudden road block?
Could have deterred them while on their way…🚗

🚧 They were riding along little leisurely,
Up ahead though that road sign they see…
But it won’t stop the ride,
They just take it in stride…
It’s no problem they both can agree…🚧

⏰ They left early, so timing’s ok,
The detour won’t cause them delay…
      They have plenty of time,
      So while it’s not sublime..
There’s no way that it’s ruining their day…⏰

🤦🏻‍♂️ Traffic sometimes can cause so much grief,
      To those tardy…turn over a leaf…
If our guys had run late,
      Right out of the gate?
      They’d now have a serious beef…🤦🏻‍♂️

💲So they’re off to the seminar now,
And hoping to land a cash cow…
      Entrepreneurial gents,
      Their major intent…
Earning money…if the meeting allows! 💲

  2. Yesterday I ended my comment with “see ya on a no-hump Wednesday “ and that’s exactly what I got ! No-hump to get over today’s anagrams or jumble ! I must ADMIT, I was DRAWN to DETECT the jumble ! So I’m gonna ENROLL into the jumble (fun-solve)team ! When I saw 8 letters with 3 E’s , I said to myself, this is going to be interesting ! And really liked David’s play on two words that sound alike , but spelled differently ! This was a very fun jumble ! Angela , I’ve always commented on how I liked the Beatles and your song choice was perfect ! And a very cute roundabout joke ! Well everyone, let’s get ready for thirsty-Thursday !!!!!!

  3. Yes, a no hump Wednesday. Found the blind solve after a bit of cogitation, then used those letters to help with the fumbling I encountered over ENROLL. Very prolific posting today, Angela…hope you didn’t have to stay up too late. I looked at the archived puzzle of 6/22 and remember it well..especially RADISH. So…a good start to puzzle morning. Terry

  4. I suppose today’s jumble is really a lesson for life!

When the road ahead is not straight

Then it’s time to decide and debate

Do you just sit and stew

    Or decide to make do

    And another path to create!

  5. Good morning. Not once not twice, not three times but now a fourth time in a row I was able to get the blind solve. It’s a Christmas miracle in February. Lol. Must admit Angela that the Beatles do sing great as a band, I just hated what they stood for off the stage. For that reason alone I didn’t buy their records or listen to them. However my oldest son loved them and has quite a number of their records. It might be his favorite group. Enjoyed your comments and extra jumble. Until tomorrow take care.

    • Good Morning, Paul. Tk you. LOL! A Christmas miracle! 😂… And I remember you stating years ago how you felt about the Beatles… I never held it against you…😉 Have a good one. Take care 🚧🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. My paper newspaper has switched to a postal delivery from a carrier delivery. Which means I don’t get it until afternoon, if I get it at all. I can access an E-version online, which I had been using to access the Jumble. Now this morning the paper no longer has a copy of the Jumble or Soduko puzzles! Yikes! Chuck.

    • Hi Chuck online alternatives that work for me on weekdays are sandiegouniontribune.com/sd-jumble

      and

      puzzlesociety.com

On Sunday I go to games.dailystar.co.uk

      Arleen

      • For Sundays, just hit the little black box at the upper left hand corner, and choose Jumble and Jumble Sunday from the drop-down menu…🔠🙋🏻‍♀️

      • I use my phone and google either Chicago tribune , word unscrambled , walkthrough , San Diego Tribune ,San Diego and Chicago Tribune have the cartoon after midnight , I don’t get the newspaper anymore and these I’ve doing for 2 years !

    • That’s terrible, Professor…I know you rather the paper than the online versions. But if you have an Apple device, there’s a few good Soduko puzzles. Kakuro also. I play them. You could try writing to the paper. I remember a while back someone’s paper stopped printing the Jumble and they received so many complaints, they brought it back. Good luck…🚧🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Hi Chuck, the postal newspaper delivery is happening nationwide. The next step will be no more printed papers. Very sad for us old timers. Anne

  7. Nice and easy puzzle this morning. Couldn’t help but think of the song “Detour There’s a Muddy Road Ahead”. Appropriate song for California these days – lots of rain and mudslides. Have a good day all! Betty

    • I’ve been seeing it on the news, Betty. So much flooding. Stay safe…🙏🏻🙋🏻‍♀️
