  1. Good Monday morning everyone! The first puzzle of the week didn’t offer any new clue words, but three of the anagrams were. NADKR is the only one that we’ve definitely seen before. They all came into view instantly except for TRIPLE. There was something about the T being at the end of the layout that threw me. Since it was the only one to give me hesitation, I’ll go ahead and choose it to be today’s hardest word.

Today’s cartoon introduced us to a couple of Jumble characters that are ready to call it a night (I think). The cartoon sentence revealed that the mattress is new and the dialogue indicates that they’re optimistic about getting a good nights REST. There was only one detail that really caught my attention. If you look at the clock you can see that the time is 11:45. How do we know if it’s am or pm if the midday dot isn’t displayed? It looks to me like they’re going to bed just before noon to be up for their overnight shift sometime in the evening.

The final solve was an anagram consisting of 11-letters. Seven of them were consonants and four were vowels. TRES being coupled together in the layout made REST quite visible and ASSURED was easily formed from the remainder. Another effortless start to the week. Have a marvelous Monday, and keep Jumbling!

  2. Here are 10 Fun Facts about: MATTRESSES

    10. The word mattress is an Arabic word meaning “throw”.
    9. A mattress has between 100,000 and 10 million dust mites in it. This often happens because traditional innerspring mattresses have a lot of space for these microscopic critters to roam and reproduce.
    8. It is illegal to purchase a mattress on Sundays in the state of Washington. The original rationale of the law is unclear, and it doesn’t appear to be a rigorously enforced law.
    7. The modern waterbed only came to market in 1971, and hit its peak popularity in 1987.
    6. The first mention of a bed in a literary work is in Homer’s Odyssey.
    5. Mattresses can double in weight over 10 years. That’s because they acquire a buildup of dust mites, sweat, and dead skin cells.
    4. By United States federal law, all mattresses must be able to withstand an open flame for 30 seconds before catching fire.
    3. The largest bed on record was made in the Netherlands and is 86 ft. by 53 ft. That’s an area of 4558 square feet.
    2. The queen sized mattress is the most popular size in America. It supplanted the twin sized mattress in 1999.
    1. King Louis XIV of France was particularly fond of lying in bed. He owned 413 different ones. Even if he slept in a different one each night for a year, he’d still have 48 left over!

    Final Thought:
“The largest barrier to success is removing the mattress from one’s back in the morning.” —Unknown

  3. REST ASSURED, there are shadow solutions out there. For example, READ RUSSETS. I have heard of palm readers and horoscope readers, but are there any potato readers out there?

  6. Good Morning, Everyone. I hope this finds you well…🥶 🙋🏻‍♀️

⚾️ The coach’s GUESS that his team had set themselves up for hitting into a TRIPLE play, which REST ASSURED would SQUASH any chance of them reaching the playoffs, proved right…and he DRANK it in with a heavy heart…⚾️

🥩 She planned to serve a TRIPLE dish…some SQUASH, some corn, some kale,
She didn’t need to GUESS with it, no chance this meal would fail
She DRANK some wine and prepped the steak, her marinade had set,
She’d chosen the best Kobe strip…there’d hardly be regret
Her cooking skills beyond reproach, her taste buds have matured…
Successful dinners were her crown, for that she’s REST ASSURED! 🥩

  8. Hi all – Got the words and then REST in the answer, but needed to see the letters to get ASSURED.

    Good wishes to everyone.

We’re in for a cold (by our standards) week with some heavy rain on Wednesday which will probably head South. Waiting to hear whether Mig got any snow – I heard that even Malibu got a dusting last night!

“My GUESS is that he had quite a large bet on the line when he DRANK the TRIPLE SQUASH, pineapple and licorice smoothie in one gulp!”

        • He kneaded it THAT bad? Then I think he autumn re-examine his life choices…get to the root of his financial problems…Tuber in that bad a shape…he kneads more help than we may know. He definitely kneads to make a new starch! 🍠🤦🏻‍♀️

  9. Hello Monday my old friend…. Nice easy going J today, although for no apparent reason PRIELT slowed me down slightly. I SQUASHED rest of the anagrams and the solution jumped out of my paper. Thinking of having squashed potatoes for lunch, care to join me? TaTa!
