  1. Good Morning, Everyone…⚾️ PITCH PERFECT?⚾️

… 🎶 My kind of town, Chicago is.  My kind of town, Chicago is…The Chicago Cubbies…Chicago is…🎶..”My Kind Of Town (Chicago Is)” – Mr Frank Sinatra (original recording) 1964  https://tinyurl.com/yvseafez

⚾️ Near a perfect game in Baseball? Most fans a complete WRECK,

A pitcher…he can hardly FLINCH…or things all turn to dreck…
VENOM from his opponents? One doubts that’s what we’d see,
(And PIGLET just won’t fly today….there’s no way it can be)…
Down to one out, the fans they pray their man will hardly twitch…
The roar becomes quite deafening…yes it’s at FEVER PITCH! …⚾️

Ok…This one’s so easy, such a walk in the PARK, that were able to simply STRIKE while the iron’s hot…

So…Today…Wrigley Field, on the NORTH side of Chicago. And we find our two Chicago Cubs https://tinyurl.com/3skaav6e announcers, Jim Deshaies, and Boog Sciambi, excitedly reacting to what’s about to happen…Their pitcher is one out away from PITCHing a rare perfect game https://tinyurl.com/bdfp478v and the crowd is going wild…(= frenzy, FEVER) so much so that it’s reached a FEVER PITCH   https://tinyurl.com/2t3rm4cw …And the all too obvious omission of the word PITCH in our question, while mentioning “cheering” plus the dialogue, especially Jim’s, made this one a definite easy, breezy HIT…And that’s it…GAME OVER…

Jeff’s💎Gems? Boog’s comment about the “South Side”…a reference to Chicago’s other MLB Team, the White Sox…the Graphics Operator, in his Cub’s jersey, sitting at right, whose message of “Make Some Noise”, seen clearly in our FIELD of vision, is reflected on the Jumbotron, and the giant billboard off in the distance that reads JUMBLE. That Jeff…always making a PITCH for this puzzle…

So…There you have it, Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…and this puzzle reminds me of my friend, who played minor league baseball for a while…He was a pitcher, and one day when he was really struggling on the mound, his catcher waked out to speak with him. He said the catcher told him…”I’ve figured out your problem…you always lose control at the same point in every game”. And when my friend asked, “When is that”? ..The catcher answered…”Right after the National Anthem”…Make a long story short, it finally HIT him…and he was OUT… Let’s face it…he had no DEFENSE…⚾️🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 🐖 The storm left the farm a complete WRECK, and trying to save the PIGLET, he saw it FLINCH, and in what seemed like VENOM, it squealed in a FEVER PITCH…🐖

🤬 His car was now a WRECK…and VENOM spewed out from his mouth,
His PIGLET in the back seat…frightened beyond a doubt
And when the reckless driver, with a FLINCH not worth a stitch…
Acted so rude and nonchalant?…Things reached a FEVER PITCH!…🤬

  3. 💪🏻 For a pitcher it’s all ‘bout the arm,
The highlight of that player’s charm…
    They stand on the mound,
    And in manners profound…
    Face batters while remaining calm…💪🏻

🤷🏻‍♂️It’s important that they maintain grace,
While man after man they need face…
    Steady…in control,
Get that ball in the hole…
And all the while keep up the pace…🤷🏻‍♂️

🙏🏻 Pitching perfect games is very rare…
    Only 24 so far declared…
    So our guy here today,
    Last inning of play…
Is left with a wing and a prayer…🙏🏻

🗣️Should he do it…the crowd will go wild,
And crown just one more golden child…
    To accomplish the feat,
    Every batter left beat…
He’ll have fans bewitched and beguiled…🗣️

🏆Here’s hoping that our man comes through,
Captures that golden ring he pursues…
    And makes the history books,
    Generations will look…
Speaking accolades that he is due…🏆

  5. I did the methodology recommended by Angela, and also thought a puzzle word would be PITCH. Then, while glancing at the four words, saw the “V” and FEVER came to me. A blind solve helped, as I then had trouble unscrambling PIGLET. Also, the great Sinatra ballad added to the morning celebration. Thanks for a fun post, Angela. Hope your weather cooperating, too. Terry

  6. Good morning. I had thought this one was a walk in the park because I even obtained a blind solve and from early results I see it was less than 10% that had trouble. Loved Mr Sinatra’s song choice Angela and the ending with you friend that put a big smile on my face. Until tomorrow take care.

    • Good Morning, Paul. Walk in the park, indeed! 👏🏻👏🏻! Tk you…Always happy to know I can get you to smile…And yes, one can never go wrong with Mr Sinatra. Take care. ⚾️🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. After a pause on the wreck anagram and having the letters, the cartoon was a rather quick solve on an early morning! Chuck.

  8. Love it when I can see the words without writing down possibilities. Plus a blind solve. Angela, have a great weekend and thanks again for doing what you do so well.-Dave

  9. On the cusp of a momentous occasion

The cheers that the fans are raisin’

    Will go through the roof

    The ultimate proof

    Of their pride and admiration!

    Helen

    • ⚾️ So rare do we see such a feat,
Where everyone’s out of their seat…
      And to get to attend?
      A dream to no end…
To witness a game so complete…⚾️

🤦🏻‍♂️Of course though the irony here,
Is the Cubs? They have never appeared…
      For them…perfect game?
      Is yet to remain…
‘Lo year after year after year…🤦🏻‍♂️

🤷🏻‍♂️But their fans do remain ever true,
Yes, the  Cubs have a fan base true blue…
      So the fantasy here,
      Hasn’t yet met fans there…
      It’s still something they’re left to pursue!🤷🏻‍♂️

  10. Hello Saturday ! I jot the jumble with PITCH a ring the first word that came ! Then FEVER was left ! Now the anagrams were sticking their tongue out cause 2 of them were not there for me ! But I solved the jumble then ! I agree with all the jumble family about your song and your friend and your posts Angela! They complete it with fun and anxious for the next one , so let’s go Sunday Funday !!!!
