    🚀A stomach WRENCH, the nervousness as we watched this unfold,
    That man could STOMP upon the moon? Trust…it was TV gold..
    Of course procedure followed…AVOID all risk for sure,
    And Armstrong said…”We must ADJUST for what is now in store”
    A moon landing….who could have known…but here it is to wit…
    And anxious Buzz can hardly wait…longing to STEP ON IT..🚀

    “That’s one small STEP for man… one giant leap for mankind”. Buzz might have been antsy…but it was Neil who stole the show…Good things come to those who wait…And with STEP by STEP REVOLVING in my head, I couldn’t help but think of this… https://tinyurl.com/3kejudrk A little COMET-y to start our week off…

    So…Today…July 20th, 1969…The Moon. And the Apollo 11 landing…https://tinyurl.com/y584t5rf  But it wasn’t until the next day, the 21st, that Neil Armstrong https://tinyurl.com/592z35cp  took that first step…while Buzz Aldrin, https://tinyurl.com/4a48d526 chomping at the bit, had to wait another 19 minutes…Anxious, indeed…But of course, Neil, as commander had to follow procedure…So Buzz telling him to “C’mon”, about to CRATER that momentous walk, didn’t carry much WEIGHT at that moment…(And yes, pun intended) …STEP ON IT? https://tinyurl.com/4xpuyfua  All in good time…

    Jeff’s💎Gem? Look closely at the procedure book…there’s a tiny little arrow pointing downward…I just found that amusing…And the planting footprint line is a keeper…

    So…There you have it, Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of my friend, who after reading a book about GRAVITY and space travel, and not being able to PUT IT DOWN, started talking about becoming an astronaut. And we were all like…”Are you kidding, ORBIT”?..Trust me, we were hardly APPOLLOgetic about dealing with it. Let’s face it, this guy was never able to carry his own WEIGHT, so you can just imagine how we knew this idea of his could never FLY. Granted, he’s a SPACE Cadet for sure, but to have the discipline and stamina to be an astronaut? Totally OUT OF THIS WORLD concept. Why he can’t even get through a game of MOONopoly without losing his composure…But he being who he is, tried applying to an Astronomy program. And of course, he was rejected. In fact, he was told that he’d only be taking up SPACE in a classroom…So, once again, he was left with an ASTROnominal sense of failure…And a few days later, we ran into him sitting in the park, LAUNCH box at his side…eating a MARS bar and soaking up the ATMOSPHRRE around him. And when I told him that he needed to get serious about life, and stop going through these PHASES of his, he had no COMET…Figures…But I’m at a point now where short of calling him a LUNAtic, he has to get it through his head that the world doesn’t REVOLVE around him, and grasp the GRAVITY of the whole situation. We’ve all had enough of these FLIGHTS of fancy.  His life? Either he learns to PLANET better…or we’re done with him. SIRIUSly…🚀🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 🤦🏻‍♂️ After hearing his wife say, “Don’t STEP ON IT”, he tried not to STOMP on the spilt food…but couldn’t ADJUST his gait in time…and in an effort to AVOID it ended up with a WRENCH to his ankle…🤦🏻‍♂️

    🔧 He saw him drop the WRENCH and watched as STOMP on it he did,
    So much he’d need ADJUST to…not to act like such a kid
    AVOID the childish outbursts…just have patience…bit by bit…
    There’s no place here to hurl a tool…and then just STEP ON IT…🔧

    People scoffed thinking no way it can…
    Can ever come true,
    Something out of the blue…
    But the Space Program def had a plan…🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♀️

    🌖 As the time for the launch did grow near,
    The response was excitement and fear…
    So much was felt unknown,
    Would one really be shown…
    …The image of the moon appear?…🌖

    👍🏻 And a hot summer night here on Earth,
    Brought the image of the mission’s worth…
    One saw men as they walked,
    And heard as they talked…
    And everyone shared in the mirth…👍🏻

    🚀But did Buzz really prod Neil like this?
    No, I’m sure he just wouldn’t dismiss…
    Procedures in need,
    There was no selfish greed…
    But it does make a puzzle of bliss…🚀

    👏🏻👏🏻 So one cheered Neil and Buzz on that night,
    And let go of that nervous fright…
    And with history made,
    Came the joyous parade…
    As one honored that glorious flight…👏🏻👏🏻

  7. Great way to start the Jumble week…I knew the answer even before seeing the letters needed. Words unscrambled easily, too. The Sinatra song was perfect choice. Knowing Buzz Aldrin’s personality, I can see him chomping at the bit. Very nice post today, and an interesting friend story, for sure. Terry

  9. Good morning. Easy breezy with even a blind solve. Cant brag too much because I’m in the majority. Two days in a row with Old Blue Eyes, what did we do to deserve that Angela. Great post and special skit with Abbot and Costello. Brought back fond memories of the duo. Until tomorrow take care.

      We rejoiced that the men were secure…
      Nervousness that was there,
      We saw disappear…
      As we witnessed the landing’s allure…🌖

      📕And of course procedure had to come first,
      Deep in details the men were immersed…
      To step out on the moon,
      For the US…a boon…
      So yes, it had to be rehearsed…📕

      👏🏻👏🏻 And the world watched completely in awe,
      At something never seen before…
      Apollo’s success,
      The Space Program’s Progress?…
      Left Americans longing for more…👏🏻👏🏻
