    🥊The losses def do PLAGUE him, and the WEIGHT of them is tough,

    And no amount of JABBER helps…poor guy…the going’s rough…

    His trainer, speaking SOFTLY tries to steer him the right way,

    (And here’s where FUSION doesn’t join our other words today)

    Not sweet like COTTON candy…these fights? Kin to blood baths…

    And so we see our boxer GET OFF THE BEATEN PATH…🥊

    Poor guy…he’s looking PUNCH drunk…yet you still can’t help taking a SHINEr to him…

    So…Today we find ourselves with a boxer and his trainer HITTING a hiking trail…but not the usual ( = BEATEN PATH) one. Instead, our boxer’s decided that he’s not just going to TAKE IT ON THE CHIN, and opts to go aROUND another WEIGH…Disregarding the advice of his trainer, and not looking for a short CUT, he’s going deeper into the woods…even if it’s going to cause him to have to KNOCKOUT some extra time.  I guess he figures that right now he’s got some to SPARe…Let’s face it, Folks, after getting BEATEN 5 times in a row, the need to think things over does RING true…And between the trainer’s dialogue, his pointing to the other direction, and us seeing that worn out BEATEN PATH to the LEFT?…No WANDERing about this…It’s an easy, breezy KNOCKOUT…The PUNCH line here?     So…There you have it, Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of my friend, who being pretty quick on his feet, thought he was tough enough to keep up with other BOXERS in a ring….It didn’t last long though…It was a BRIEF career…🥊🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 🗣️She SOFTLY tried to tell him to stop his JABBER while the invited speaker was discussing FUSION and a PLAGUE that had effected the WEIGHT of the COTTON crops…since his incessant chatter was causing them to GET OFF THE BEATEN PATH…🗣️

    🔠 The child’s spelling test was near, the words not all that common,
    FUSION and PLAGUE and JABBER had definitely posed a problem..…
    He had no trouble with a few…COTTON and WEIGHT went well,
    His Mother told him SOFTLY that with practice time would tell…
    Never the greatest speller…(though he did excel at Math)…
    She knew that without study he’d GET OFF THE BEATEN PATH…🔠

    Not a career usually taken light…
    And he trained a long time,
    So he’d turn on a dime…
    And on boxing he then turned his sights…🥊

    🤷🏻‍♂️Did ok sparring and he looked good,
    Felt a winning streak is what he could…
    …Get under his belt,
    And earn himself gelt…
    At least that’s the way that it should…🤷🏻‍♂️

    🤦🏻‍♂️He got out there and give it his all,
    But unfortunately was prone to fall…
    And lost fight after fight,
    Despite trying with might…
    To be the best man in each brawl…🤦🏻‍♂️

    And his career? Well barely alive…
    So he’s gone for a hike,
    Hoping some change might spike…
    And he’ll stop taking dive after dive…5️⃣

  6. Let’s just say I didn’t have my thinking cap on…when I blurted out GOT OFF (the) LOSING PATH, and never thought of the usual idiom using BEATEN !!! Am going back to bed. Anagrams pretty easy with a slight pause on PLAGUE. Hope it doesn’t get too cold where you Jumblers live for the next few days. Thanks for the post, Angela. Terry

  8. I got a Sunday jumble by using my thinking cap and really studying the cartoon ! I got all the anagrams with no problems ! Now the jumble when the boxer lost 5 matches , and the trail he was on did not feel good , he wanted to GET OFF BEATEN PATH ! I was so happy I got it ! It made sense and it fit well ! Angela , your song choice as usual , fits the theme ! And your friend referring to Boxers and Briefs was not over the top , but Under the Weir ! lol ! Have a good Sunday funday and let’s start a new week of jumble fun !!!!

  9. Good morning. I was able to get all the words with a pause at Plague but even though I saw the guy pointing to the road I didn’t pick up the hint and had to resort to looking up the answer. I believe you had this song choice before Angela and really enjoyed it then and now. It was enjoyable to hear all the different voices in harmony. I also believe I made a comment about a distant cousin on my uncles side who was studying to be a barber back in the 50s ? That was in the golden gloves and the back page of the newspaper had him sprawled out on the canvas with the caption “The Barber Got Clipped”. Until tomorrow take care.

  13. Was able to complete pretty quickly today. Angela, I saw your link to the Jumble for kids and for the first time will introduce my son to it. Is there a dedicated website that provides a new one everyday just like the regular Jumble? If so, I think I’d like to have him do them from time to time. Thanks!

  14. Sometimes you leave out a word, in this case “the”. Other times you don’t leave it out. Isn’t it hard enough not leaving out a word?!

  16. Got lost in the ‘woods’. It ‘beat’ me. Not enuff letters for another “the”. Didn’t ‘think’ outside the ‘box’. Too ‘deep’ for me. Couldn’t find the right ‘path’. It left me out in the cold. Somebody was punch drunk.
