  1. Good Morning, Everyone…🥶CAYENNE UNDERSTAND WHY THEY’RE OUTDOORS! 🥶

🎶Do not eat Texas CHILI, Mama, or you will surely die (You will surely die)…🎶…”Red Hot Chili Cookoff” – Ray Stevens 2021 https://tinyurl.com/4s7s68x4

🥶They watch it SLOSH around the pot, no stirring seems to help,
And sadly from the weather…its color? Kin to kelp…
The people all are freezing, even the STOCKY guy,
    …Who usually feels very warm…today though…don’t apply
It’s just a big FIASCO, and FLOWN around are scoffs…
Outdoors in this cold weather? Def a “CHILLY” COOKOFF!🥶

I remember this puzzle from its first time around…and it has BEAN quite a while…

So…Today..A wintry (= CHILLY) day in December and we find ourselves at a cook-off. Why we’re outdoors though? You got me…Where it may be a tradition to hold these type of events outdoors, like in a parking lot, CUMIN sense should dictate that frigid temps aren’t CORNducive to enjoying a meal. Simply poor JUDGEment…Because where CHILI goes so well with cold weather, this is just not cutting the MUSTARD…Chili’s meant to be SOUP-er hot…and from what we see here today, these chefs aren’t STEWing so good…Sadly, this contest (= COOK-OFF) just ran out of STEAM…and became a “CHILLY” COOKOFF https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cook-off  …But as for us? Especially after seeing those quotation marks? …No problem MEATing this CHALLENGE…It was SPICE and easy…

So…There you have it, Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of my friend, Juan, who was hired for a job at a Mexican restaurant making chili. He thought he’d be a HOT SHOT though, and made a batch with chocolate chips. Needless to say, they CANNED him on the spot. I just shook my head and said…”JUAN are you going to learn…I told you once before that’s NACHO average chili”…🥶🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. …AND OUT OF THE ARCHIVES…The puzzle of October 27th, 2014. “The cold weather turned the food-tasting contest into a”…”CHILLY” COOKOFF! 🔠🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🤦🏻‍♀️Already upset because she felt her raincoat made her look STOCKY, the CHILI COOK-OFF ended up being a total FIASCO…with everyone having to SLOSH through the rain…trust me, time couldn’t have FLOWN fast enough…🤦🏻‍♀️

🤷🏻‍♂️He had FLOWN half ‘cross the country, bad weather followed him,
And with him being STOCKY?…His seating pretty grim
The day a real FIASCO…hates to SLOSH…and starts to cough…
…And he thinks that it best he skip today’s CHILI COOK-OFF…🤷🏻‍♂️

  5. Just a small hump Wednesday to get over ! The anagrams were all there ! I almost said “what a FIASCO”, but I got it after i tightened up my thinking cap ! Now the jumble ;the first word that came to me was CHILLY and the letters that were left had my brain thinking Kooky , Coff and then COOK OFF raised its hand , and I got it ! What a nice one to follow yesterday’s jumble ! And , first time I saw the video of Ray Steven’s and it was cool ! I loved it ! Good fit , Angela ! And your friend Juan was funny , but you’ve seen Juan , you’ve seen them all ! Very fun post and a great , just a small hump Wednesday ! So get me a glass of ice tea and bring on thirty-Thursday !!!!!

  6. Good morning. No problem again with the words today but the cartoon answer took a little longer to get. I came up with cook off first then got the first word for the completion. Loved your song video Angela and chili. I use to make it a lot with turkey chop meat but mild tasting, nothing spicy. Until tomorrow take care.

  7. It was a real workout today….solved the anagrams but had nowhere to go. Marsha helped with seeing CHILLY and then it all fit together. Good story about JUAN. Enjoy your hump day. Terry

  8. Not a blind solve today but I figured the first word would be Chilly because it certainly looked like a big pot of Chili in the cartoon. After solving the anagrams the letters fell into place for Cookoff. Thank you for the link to the Ray Stevens video Angela. Never saw that one before. Have a great day. Thanks, Stan

    • YW, Stan and Tk you. And it had be CHILLY, especially after seeing those quotes. 🥶🙋🏻‍♀️

  9. I froze up on STOCKY and it irritated me. My brain was ice cold and it’s such a simple word. Chilly came easy and Cookoff fell right into place.

Maybe I was a cold as ice” because the thought of a long winter leaves me shaking. Anyway, glad to have a good warm-up from the Jumble.

  10. Not a clue on the cartoon answer today despite having solved the anagrams and having the letters. I’m scheduled to play my accordion at an Assisted Living home today, so music is on my mind. Chuck.

  11. 🌶️ Yes, chili can def warm the soul,
Like chicken soul does for the fold…
    And these contests not rare,
    With the usual fare….
All looking towards that winning goal…🌶️

🔥 The hotter the better to some,
    With chili there’s never humdrum…
    Serious are these cooks,
    And from each random look…
One can tell that the heat’s rule of thumb…🔥

    🤦🏻‍♂️So today a cook-off is on tap,
    But it’s taking a pretty hard rap…
    Being held out of doors,
    Not helping chili’s cause.,,
    Since it’s causing somewhat of a flap🤦🏻‍♂️

🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♂️Why they’re staying outside at this point,
Has a few noses way out of joint…
Best to call it a day,
    And find some other way…
‘Cause this is a huge disappoint…🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♀️

👋🏻People freezing and taste buds awry,
“This is too cold” the pat battle cry…
    So unless they all budge,
They’ll be no way to judge…
And these cooks may as well say goodbye…👋🏻

  12. Looks like I and over half of those who attempted to solve this Jumble got indigestion from the answer.
