  1. Good Morning, Everyone… I hope this finds you well….
    🥚🐶 THE UNGER GAMES…(or) …IT’S A DOG’S STRIFE🐶🥚

    🎶” Perils of Marriage”🎶 …Theme from “The Odd Couple” – Sammy Cahn & Neal Hefti 1970 https://tinyurl.com/ycyyf6rc

🥚Our dog lives by a DOGMA…no runny eggs will do,
Nothing should SLOSH upon his plate…for him that’s just taboo…
He’s hungry…wants to PLUNGE right in…but hunger may be fleet…
‘Cause from what we are seeing? There may be some DECEIT
That meal may not appeal to him…he might find it the dregs…
The insides? Definitely runny…when one’s making some “POOCHED” EGGS!🥚

DOGma as one of today’s words…😉

One of my all time favorite TV shows has always been “The Odd Couple”. https://tinyurl.com/39y8rsy4 …And today we find ourselves at 1049 Park Avenue, NYC…in the kitchen of Oscar Madison and Felix Unger…And what a cute PORTRAIT, right? As always, Jeff’s SPECIALTY….Anyway, from our dialogue, here’s hoping Oscar doesn’t unLEASH any of that well-known RUFF attitude towards Felix…He SITs COM now…but who knows how he’s going to reACT when he catches sight of those eggs. Will the YOLK be on him…or will poor Felix once again see his GRR..inary skill go to waste? He’s always cooking the meals….and you know what they say…”Never look a gift DOG in the mouth”…something like that…no? Well anyway…let’s not KIBBLE over an idiom…YOLK and I have MUNCH bigger eggs to fry….

So…this breakfast. I can definitely comMISERYate…I abhor a runny egg.* The only way I can eat eggs is if they’re scrambled, no pun intended, and scrambled dry. Fluffy, but SHIRR-ly well done. Fried, sunny-side-up, soft-boiled, poached…etc…not what they’re CRACKED up to be, as far as I’m heart-burned…I mean concerned. I hate to even see a yolk…and I’m not EGGagerating… So…as far as our DOG Oscar’s favorite breakfast goes? I don’t think that “POOCHED” EGGS https://tinyurl.com/bdenzyph are going to go OVER very well with this POOCH…And I hope things don’t BOIL OVER…WRITE or wrong, Oscar is pretty EGGSact in what he said….

Jeff’s Gems? We have Felix, hair impeccably combed, nattily dressed to the caNINES, as always, in what may be a HOUNDStooth tie, the Empire State Building seen through the window, and there’s a dog bowl on the table. There’s Oscar, SPORTing his beloved NY Yankee cap, with a DOG collar that shows a bone…But it’s the PAPER that’s BEST IN SHOW…There’s two dogs playing “Spikeball”, https://tinyurl.com/3973rfju Jeff’s invention, on the right side sheet, and the heading atop the page reads, “Who’s a Good Boy”? …You have to admit, it’s hard to EGGnor Jeff’s whimsy…it just can’t be BEAT…

So…There you have it Folks…WELL DONE…Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And in the words of Teddy Roosevelt …”PEAK softly…and carry a big WHISK”…EGGScellent advice…🥚🙋🏻‍♀️

    * I don’t remember if Oscar had a problem with runny eggs, but they were mentioned in the episode, “Gloria Moves In” (season four, episode one): “One of the darkest episodes of the series has Gloria staying at Felix and Oscar’s apartment for a few days while her house is being painted. Felix naturally thinks this is a chance to win her back, but he immediately alienates her by criticizing her cooking (RUNNY EGGS and more pits in the orange juice!)”…

  2. 🤷🏻‍♀️She always abhorred any kind of eggs that might SLOSH around, a sort of DOGMA with her, and it’d be an exercise in DECEIT to put it any other way…so when they teased her about taking the PLUNGE and trying POACHED EGGS, she failed to see the humor…🤷🏻‍♀️

🍳Not sure if it was DECEIT, them keeping it from him,
But he could definitely hear the SLOSH…so chances looking slim…
That he’d not know the washer went, and too late now to PLUNGE,
His DOGMA should have been “say no”…cause now he faces grunge
He’s so upset, he needs a break…he feels weak in the legs…
Too old for this…he takes retreat…and prepares himself POACHED EGGS

  3. What a fun Friday jumble ! I think though that this is one of very few anagrams I had a SLOSH ! So I took a PLUNGE on DOGMA and DECEIT ! But the jumble did not leave me barking up the wrong tree ! I go to breakfast at the same place in my hometown almost everyday and I’ll comp up with some breakfast joke puns , so this jumble was fun ! Once I saw EGGS , the POOCHED came out ! They must I’ve been sitting next to the penguins who ordered Ice Krispies ! What a great jumble to close the work week ! And I too watched the odd couple series each week , Angela ! Good show ! So everyone have a great day and for tomorrow morning , have some Pup Tarts ! Have a good one !!!!!!

  4. Clever little puzzle today. Took the anagrams to find the first word…EGGS being pretty obvious. Never knew the composers to the song, but Neil Hefti and Sammy Cahn a couple of giants in the industry. All your gems brought back fun memories to that show and that TV era….Kinds made me a little nostalgic for those TV times !! Terry

    • I know what you mean, Terry. I could watch those reruns forever…and laugh every time. Klugman and Randall were perfect together…And I knew you’d appreciate the Cahn & Nefti connection…🥚🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. Easy one, except Dogma took a little work. I agree with you, Angela, no runny eggs for me. Jeff’s “Who’s a good boy?” made me think of a cartoon from The New Yorker magazine. A dejected looking dog can be seen walking away from his master. The dog has a  thought bubble that says, “It’s always ‘good dog’ – never ‘great dog.'” Wishing all a fun weekend. Caroline

  6. Good morning. I backed into Dogma by getting a blind solve today. At first I thought Poached then realized it was in quotations so I realized I needed an o and g to get the blind solve. That was an enjoyable show Angela and thanks for all the information. Until tomorrow take care.

  7. Anagrams were a snap as was the second cartoon word, eggs, but had to pause on “pooched” but given the quotes and presence of dogs, the answer came into focus.
    Chuck.

  8. Eggs can be prepared in so many ways
The recipes go on for days
If your preference is to poach
    Then take this approach
    Let’s see what’s going on today…..

Poaching eggs can be quite tricky
You don’t want them broken or sticky
Make sure mine are just right
Not too hard, not too light
This canine is really quite picky!

    • 🥚Yes with eggs many ways to prepare,
And to some it’s neither here nor there…
      Any way suits them fine,
      But others take a shine…
To only one way for their fare….🥚

🤷🏻‍♀️We see Felix and eggs that he’s poached,
And it may not be the right approach…
      Oscar’s not fond of runny,…
So this may not be funny…
      A delicate subject to broach…🤷🏻‍♀️

🍳Be it scrambled, or shirred, or just fried,
Comes to cooking, Felix has his pride…
      Will this breakfast go bust?
      Will Oscar make a fuss?
Or just eat it …and let runny slide? 🍳

      🐶 It’s a dog eat dog world…so they say,
And it’s eggs being eaten today,..
Let’s hope there’ll be no quibble,
If there is? Then it’s kibble…
So this definitely can go either way…🐶

👍🏻 Here’s to hoping Oscar keeps his cool,
After all the dog’s started to drool..
      If he’s hungry enough…
      Perhaps he won’t be “ruff”…
To stay hungry? That’s acting the fool! 👍🏻
