🏌🏻♂️Guess the caddie did SPOIL his day, since he refused to cheat,
With FINITE patience he told him …”You’re on your own two feet”…
(And here’s where ALBUM and CASHEW have proven to go bust,
I tried to play around with them…they nearly drove me nuts)
Today we have a golfer, who dishonestly does try..
To get his caddie hopefully to LIE ABOUT HIS LIE…🏌🏻♂️
So…Today…A disgruntled golfer who fired a stand-in caddie because he wouldn’t “foot wedge” ( = LIE) https://tinyurl.com/3vk6ycue his ball…since he’s not happy with the way it LIES… https://tinyurl.com/4crjbpws What a KICK in the head, right? He’s not only dishonest = LIE, he’s a creep besides…Well here’s to the caddie who had no intention of STROKEing his ego…And with “dishonest” in our question, and the dialogue of: “foot wedge” and “play it from where you hit it”…this puzzle is PAR FOR THE COURSE…The caddie refused to LIE ABOUT HIS LIE…And this solve is a STROKE of genius, if you ask me…
Jeff’s 💎Gems? The ball can be seen by the golfer’s feet…I’m not totally sure if the caddie’s cap is showing crossed golf clubs…Same with the emblem on the golf bag…it could be a tee…But there’s no problem identifying the gopher club cover https://tinyurl.com/4tc8u8zw from Caddy Shack…https://tinyurl.com/nhkazj6r …a classic…
So…There you have it, Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of my friend who, always has trouble on the ROUGH…So he’s decided from now on he’s giving a ROUGH estimate of his score …To hear him tell it…it’s the only FAIR WAY…🏌🏻♂️🙋🏻♀️

👎🏻With just a small amount of time remaining, she refused to LIE ABOUT HIS LIE that the ALBUM titled “SPOIL the CASHEW” had even a FINITE chance of being released…👎🏻
🙇🏻♂️The ALBUM he created…slated for a surprise, Seemed now to have a FINITE shot appearing fore his eyes… He sat…a bag of CASHEW nuts…lamenting o’er the SPOIL, And realized that his chances slim…despite how hard he toiled He tried to cover up his fail…but doubted he’d get by… There’s no way left that he can try to LIE ABOUT HIS LIE…🙇🏻♂️

As a pretty avid golfer, missed most of today’s puzzle…however did manage HIS LIE. But then noticed I didn’t have enough letters left, so made some sort of error copying circled letters. Thanks for an excellent post, Angela…and I know just how your friend feels about the ROUGH !! Until tomorrow. Terry

This was an easy blind solve for me today because my golf buddies and I always lie about our lies. LOL We don’t bet on the game and we’re just out to have fun. Each one of us has a foot wedge in our bag. Thank you for the link to the Castaways song Angela. The girl singing at the beginning of the song cracks me up every time I hear it. Have a great day.
Thanks, Stan

YW, Stan…and Tk you, But the person singing at the beginning isn’t a woman…it’s guitarist Robert Folschow..,he’s the falsetto voice. And it’s Dick Roby who did the scream. 🏌🏻♂️🙋🏻♀️

Despite being an avid former golfer, I was stumped by the cartoon. I looked up the first 3 letter word in the solution and the rest of the solution was a quick solve. We didn’t play with the ‘foot wedge’ but because of the ‘rough’ fairways , we could improve our ball lies when in the fairway. Chuck.

Although I’ve trieded golf a number of times, it’s not my favorite sport. The answer was a bit tricky, as I didn’t expect repeat LIEs. After trying balls for the five-letter word, I started over with LIE and found the answer.

Clueless today. Got the anagrams without difficulty but couldn’t come up with the cartoon answer. Cheer to those who figured it out. For me tomorrow is another day.

Problem with today’s (10-24-24) Jumble is that the first anagram “OLPSI” has two correct results; “spoil” and “polis.” The JUMBLE creators need to be chastised for this mistake, which happens about once a year

There’s no “creators” when it comes to the Jumble words, it’s David alone who chooses the words and creates the solve. Any true Jumble aficionado knows that. And the word SPOIL has been used numerous times over the years. And as far as happening about once a year? An exaggeration, so totally off the mark…As is the call for chastising…🙋🏻♀️

Angela, If you are the spokesperson for “JUMBLE,” you need to take a course in public relations. I’ve been working the Jumble daily for, at least, 40 years, and I’ve never bothered to track who the “creator” or David is. According to you, that means I’m not a “true JUMBLE aficionado.” Really? I actually claim to be the unofficial Iowa JUMBLE champ, because, most of the time, I can solve, at least, three out of the four anagrams faster than my “opponents.” When we tie ( 2 – 2), I’m less good at the tie-breaking “answer,” but that doesn’t happen too often. The fact the SPOIL has been used numerous times doesn’t obviate the fact that these anagrams are designed not to have more than one correct answer. “Any true JUMBLE aficionado knows that.”

What the heck is “polis”?

I spoke with David. Polis is not a common word. He has every intention to continue using Spoil…🙋🏻♀️

Thanks for the update. “Polis” may not be a common word for everybody, but it is a very common word for philosophers and political scientists. I used it today, and I was obviously unable to get the answer, which is why I ended up discovering your post. [A silver lining in every cloud, I guess] I am, however, surprised that he’s being stubborn about it. Steve Perlowski
