  1. Good Morning, Everyone…🧗🏻‍♂️BY GORGE! THEY’VE DONE IT!🧗🏻‍♂️

🧗🏻‍♂️Grand Canyon with its colors…the SALMON, green and gray,
Appreciated by these two…not LONELY for today…
Together they decided to TRUDGE and make the hike,
A day out of the TAVERN…and their appetites did spike…
…BIGGER today than usual…they bought a bunch of snacks,
From sandwiches to CASHEW nuts…they made sure all to pack…
And now before they’re ready for the upward trek to delve…
They’ll need rev up their energy…and so they GORGED THEMSELVES!🧗🏻‍♂️

Hiking down and up Grand Canyon… https://tinyurl.com/2s3cpfn8 Why? FOOD for thought, right?

So…Today, two men, John CARRYmore and Gary TROOPER, who met years ago in the neighborhood pub…And having hiking in common, they BREW, I mean grew to become fast friends…and decided to hike the Grand Canyon, after months of training and planning. And since they’re both known for their ravenous appetites, included with their preparations was a list of what foods they’d bring aLONG…Sandwiches, bananas, nuts, etc…And having reached the bottom of the GORGE, we see them taking a break to revitalize THEMSELVES…since they’re HUNGRY…So in answer to our question?…John and Gary…GORGED THEMSELVES…  https://tinyurl.com/arz28ays Easy, breezy enough…if one paid heed to the key STUFF…Canyon = GORGE…and the dialogue…”Starving”, “All this food”… to GORGE = https://tinyurl.com/2vxkjs6d

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of my friend Rocco, who being a hiker entertained thoughts of attempting to conquer the Grand Canyon. But still being a bit ROUGH around the EDGES, he was caught between a ROCK and a HARD PLACE…and he LEDGED, I mean hedged back and forth for a while, finally deciding against it; …especially after we all said, “CAN YON really see yourself doing that…have you thought about it in DEPTH”?…So instead, he just visited…and was really taken in by its majesty…To hear him tell it, “It’s GORGEgeous”…Turns out ROCKY’s really a SEDIMENTAL kind of guy after all… 🧗🏻‍♂️🙋🏻‍♀️

    …A Shout Out 🗣️to David…all new Anagrams…

…And continued prayers for those facing the devastation of Helene and Milton…🙏🏻

  2. 🦃 The TAVERN this year had offered a much BIGGER array of food for the free Thanksgiving dinner…CASHEW nuts and SALMON for example,  and all the LONELY people from the neighborhood managed to TRUDGE through the bad weather and GORGED THEMSELVES…🦃

👍🏻The shopping list was drawn up, SALMON was at the top,
    With CASHEW nuts included…the TAVERN wouldn’t stop…
…The catering to the LONELY, and the BIGGER picture here,
To satisfy each of the Folks who’d TRUDGE to make it there
The special dish they planned to serve this year would be stuffed shells…
And they knew they’d need plenty…this crowd always GORGED THEMSELVES…👍🏻

  4. No problem with the anagrams but paused on the multi lettered second cartoon word before it popped into mind. The Grand Canyon reference reminded me of my near fatal Canyon experience. When a college student, a friend of mine and I were on a road trip from Ohio to Las Vegas and the Canyon. After several days and long nights in Vegas, we went onto the Canyon. Upon arriving in the afternoon we started hiking down the Bright Angel Trail late in the afternoon. After 1 1/2 miles down, it was near dusk and we were going to hike back up in the dark and exhausted. Fortunately we found an abandoned canteen so had water for the trek up. About 1 AM we crawled out of the Canyon and had survived! Chuck.

  5. Missed the bottom/gorge connection and therefore missed the puzzle answer. Gotta wait til Monday to get back in the game. Terry

  6. It sure was a mighty trek

And at the bottom they thought they should check

    Way down in the canyon

    Each looked at his companion

And both said “What the heck

The climb back up could be cruel

We’re going to needs lots of fuel”

    So the gobbled their rations

    In down to earth fashion

And climbed back up as a dual!

    • As I said in my previous post, we had to climb up out of the bottom in the dark, and were indeed famished but had nothing to eat even though we wanted to ‘gorge’ out. Chuck.

  7. The words were easy, but I didn’t get the answer. Nothing came to mind, and finding the right words was too hard today. I hiked to the bottom and back of the Grand Canyon, from the north side, when I was young. It took all day.

The LONELY man ate a CASEW-crusted SALMON after a TRUDGE to a BIGGER TAVERN.

  8. Have enjoyed this puzzle since 1968. Buffalo News no longer carries this puzzle, so I cancelled my subscription. Read the paper at library now.
