      So…RIVETing…but as far as our puzzle goes…one needn’t be a JEANius to solve this one…With our question giving us “pair” = PANTS, and our dialogue the “rivets”, “heads together”, “collaboration” and especially the word “genius” = SMART…this one was SEWN up in no time…A double play on words here…Both our men and their product? …A pair of SMARTY PANTS…

      So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And I’m sure most people are happy to see that pants-hanging-low thing pretty much FADE away…talk about a lot of recessive JEANS…👖🙋🏻‍♀️

    • 🥣Some SMARTY PANTS had the nerve to use the word INFAMY, after all the trouble the chef went thorough to scrape together a HASTY, SOUPY meal…GRATIS, no less..🥣

      The job he promised, GRATIS…but could he see it through…
      Would he go down in INFAMY if he failed to deliver?
      A silly thought but just the same it gave him a slight shiver
      He might have been too HASTY when he went and took a stance…
      And now he’s thinking they’ll dub him for sure a SMARTY PANTS! 🤦🏻‍♂️

  2. Today’s puzzle was over my head, although I did think PANTS was the second word. SMARTY ??? That wasn’t in my bag of tricks today. Interesting historical musings for us, Angela. Funny thing about the solve…The idiom SMARTY PANTS refers to a know-it-all type of person, someone rather obnoxious even…so you’ll note that I didn’t include the definition as I always do. So even though the solve came to me immediately, I did find it a little odd. It fit David’s line of reasoning, but it just didn’t fit its true meaning. A clever play on words though, just the same. The baseball caps? I think that ship has sailed…I truly doubt we’ll ever see that one “turn around”…😂 And here’s to you enjoying your Friday too…👖🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. Good morning. It was an automatic read on the first two words then halted on the third so I put the paper down and took time out for a few spoonfuls of cereal with what else, strawberries and blueberries and when I went back to the paper and wrote the letters down the answer came immediately. The fourth word came to mind because I could hear Churchills speech of Infamy in my head. I swear I’m not pulling your legs.!! The cartoon answer wasn’t a blind solve but came fairly easy. First time hearing your song choice Angela and was that the name of the group. I do remember Soul Train on TV. Until tomorrow take care.

    • Good Afternoon, Paul. LOL..gotta love those blueberries! As for infamy, I’m right there with you, so I know you’re not pulling my leg. One can’t help but think of that Pearl Harbor speech, and I can even “hear” his voice…despite not being alive then. It’s become a part of History. But with all due respect, it was Roosevelt who uttered the phrase now etched into our minds…and I don’t think I’ve ever heard it used anywhere else. Trust me, I had to really push the envelope to come up with ways to work it into the sentence and the poems. As for the song? Definitely a throw-back to the disco days…and yes, it was my “First Choice” 😂 Take care, and have a good one…👖🙋🏻‍♀️

  4. Not much time today to think through this one ! I agree with terry about SMARTY , but the subject being jeans , brought back my days working for Wrangler jeans , but it still didn’t wear on me ! I’m gonna take a breather and prepare for tomorrow! Everyone have a Good Friday today !

  5. Gratis was looking like gastric but not enough letters. After sorting that out and having the letters and thinking jeans rather than pants for the cartoon, the complete cartoon solution finally came to mind. Chuck.
