    • Good Morning, Everyone…I hope this finds you well…
💲THE SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS 💲

…🎶 TAKE MY BREATH AWAY….🎶 “Take My Breath Away” – Berlin 1986 http://tinyurl.com/46fypbk4

💲 It started out a TUMMY aid, and BLAND it def was not,
It ended up a DENTAL boon, and money’s what they got
‘Cause EITHER way it was a hit, and today here in print…
      We’re honoring the Altoids….and how they MADE A MINT…💲

So…Today’s puzzle? I had no need to REFRESH my screen, or CHEW the fat with any of the Early Birds at all today, because this one just MELTED in one’s MOUTH, so speak..Easy, breezy, PEPPERMINT, I mean lemon squeezy…Yep…this one was just MINT to be solved…

Ok. Altoids = MINTS… http://tinyurl.com/mw5e3ucb …And I’m figuring who we’re seeing here is Mr Smith Kendon, and a BREATHen of his, circa the early 1780s. Having come up with the recipe for “The Original Celebrated Curiously Strong Mints”, as it was later dubbed, the men are discussing the success = making money (ie) = a MINT….for developing a MINT… http://tinyurl.com/ypbe3ach at the time for use as a digestive aid. But while the solve today is so simple, the history of Altoids definitely isn’t..,And we could CHEW the fat about it, but since I really don’t think many of you care to sink your TEETH into it, as a FLAVOR, I’ll just add this link that goes into it’s complicated changing of hands http://tinyurl.com/y7c6uhu4 Anyway…if the name Altoids alone didn’t give the solve away, TIN I’m pretty sure with our dialogue..”strong..sales” and “profits”…you had to BITE…Bottom line? They…MADE A MINThttp://tinyurl.com/263p8dp4

Jeff’s Gems? There’s a box of Altoids being held by the man at left, and on the bowl of formula being mixed by the man in the backGROUND, you can see a sprig of peppermint…although I don’t think it appeared as a logo until around 1920…And the woman has a mallet, MINT to be used to form the tiny bits of product…

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And I recently found a vintage Altoids tin in my attic…Surprisingly, it’s still in MINT condition…💲🙋🏻‍♀️

    • 🤷🏻‍♂️They could have MADE A MINT with the new DENTAL rinse, but they were EITHER too BLAND about the TUMMY concerns, or just too late when it came to addressing them…🤷🏻‍♂️

🤦🏻‍♂️His TUMMY issues caused him grief, he had to eat so BLAND,
The DENTAL office called four times…and now he cut his hand
His glasses EITHER lost or broke…so he began to squint…
If he had bottled bad luck…he def could have MADE A MINT…🤦🏻‍♂️

    • …And you might find this interesting too…I was thinking of including a little more word play with it, but then I figured that you’ve probably had enough PUNishMINT for one day…🙋🏻‍♀️

    • 🤢Pepto Bismal a long time away,
Back then Altoids kept nausea at bay…
      With its peppermint base,
      It did much to erase…
The stomach ailments of the day…🤢

💲Smith Kendon had started it all,
And it led to a major windfall,
      Much success would be seen,
      Altoids raked in the green…
With a mint that was extremely small…💲

💪🏻 When ‘twas realized that Altoids was strong,
And the flavor was lasting so long…
      They realized like Macbeth,
      It could kill…but here breath…
Was the issue need not be prolonged…💪🏻

👍🏻 O’er the years Altoids’ weathered the storms,
And for some the mints simply are norm,
They’re quite fond of the tin,
Kept it through thick and thin…
(And the Sours are still widely mourned)…👍🏻

💲Today some say Altoids fall short,
Not as strong as they were, they report…
      But that digestive aid,
      So successfully remade?…
Centuries passed…yet it still holds down fort!💲

  2. It’s middle of the week and it was a no-hump Wednesday ! The anagrams were all there for me ! Not one was BLAND ! And they were good on my TUMMY ! Made me smile DENTAL wide ! Whether the anagrams or the jumble were tough , I’ll take EITHER a of them ! And speaking of the jumble , when I read Altoids , I could taste the MINT ! And I MADE A was there ! A nice no-hump Wednesday to get over ! And Angela your song and video was nice , I remember that ! And you were right about this one being a MINT to solve ! Get ready for a thirsty-Thursday !!!!!!!

  3. Today is NATIONAL SEND A CARD TO A FRIEND DAY….For most people, sending cards through the mail has pretty much become a thing of the POST…I mean past. But maybe today we can turn the tide a tad….(alliteration always gets my STAMP of approval). So, whether it’s a MAIL or female friend who may be on your mind today, try sending a card…It just seems like the WRITE thing to do…🖌️💌📬🙋🏻‍♀️http://tinyurl.com/mr27bp5c

  4. You were so right, Angela….just an easy, peasy Wednesday Jumble, that just leaped off the page for an easy blind solve. Will admit to DENTAL being a small challenge, but nothing earth-shaking. Listened to your excellent song choice, which, of course, brought back the Top Gun memory. And your writings were very prolific this morning….good job, and interesting, to boot. Terry

  5. An obvious blind solve for the cartoon without even writing down the letters from the solved anagrams. I also paused on dental but otherwise an incredibly easy Hump Day Jumble! Chuck.

  6. Nice and easy puzzle this morning. I actually didn’t know the history of the Altoid mints to I learned something as well. Happy Wednesday all! Betty
