    • Good Morning, Everyone…I hope this finds you well…
      📕A PLETHORA OF WORDS…WHICH MEANT A LOT! 📕

🎶I got a big stack of BILLS that gets bigger each day…The county’s gonna haul my belongings away…’cause I’M BUSTED … I’m BROKE, no bread, I mean like nothing,…🎶…”Busted” – Mr Ray Charles 1963 http://tinyurl.com/5n7z8sc9

📕Noah Webster hoped to make VANISH a language sounding poor,
With ACCESS to the proper words and so tried to secure…
A place where say a SIMILE would be best understood,
If the right words were utilized…and he felt people could…
ENGULF themselves in learning…so he started on his quest,
Took more than TWENTY years…but he stood firm and passed the test…
But ‘long the way no GENIUS…’cause those years..the in-betweens?
When it came down to money…he’d not LIVE WITHIN HIS MEANS……📕

Phew! With these 6 WORDS today, it wasn’t all that easy coming up with a rhyme that would DEFINE today’s puzzle…NO..AH really had to chose my WORDS carefully…but luckily, I was AFFORDED that DEFINING moment…

So…A Dictionary = A book that WITHIN its pages gives us the MEANing of WORDS…And today we have a puzzle giving us two huge clues…”revenue” = MONEY in our question, and “debt” = lack of MEANS, in our dialogue…And we find ourselves in 1828, dealing with Noah Webster’s http://tinyurl.com/muzna36s Dictionary http://tinyurl.com/yh87f5p4 = his MEANINGS…but also his DEBT…on acCOUNT of the fact that he wasn’t exactly the DEFINITION of a genius when it came to money…And unfortunately found himself one too many times unable to LIVE WITHIN HIS MEANS http://tinyurl.com/yn4kzhk9 But let’s face it Folks…when you dedicate more than twenty years to completing something…it doesn’t exactly AFFORD you time for a blank CHECK …and if anything Noah was determined to get that dictionary perfected…no matter what the COST…So here’s to Mr Webster finally being able to see the WRITE of day when it came to his finances…and with that, we’ve BOOKed our way out of here…

Jeff’s Gem? If you look real closely, you can READ the cover of the book…”American Dictionary of the English Language”, with its American Eagle logo… http://tinyurl.com/36arwjee

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And I can’t help but think that with the huge success he has with “Hamilton”, Lin-Manuel Miranda should make a musical about the development of Webster’s Dictionary…It would DEFINEately be a great PLAY on WORDS…📕🙋🏻‍♀️

    • 🤷🏻‍♂️After having TWENTY minutes completely VANISH, while going over the same two spelling words, SIMILE and ENGULF with his son, he came up with what he thought to be a stroke of GENIUS as far as a teaching aid was concerned…and hoped that right now he could ACCESS it and still be able to LIVE WITHIN HIS MEANS 🤷🏻‍♂️

🤦🏻‍♂️The lessons did ENGULF him, language arts not his forte,
He did enjoy the SIMILEs…the rest? VANISH he prayed…
He knows that he’s no GENIUS when it comes down to brass tacks,
But TWENTY dollars for this book…and still ACCESS he lacks?
He’s wondering if it’s just him…or do some other teens…
Have trouble with the subject?…He can’t LIVE WITHIN HIS MEANS! 🤦🏻‍♂️

    • 💰Noah Webster we’ve seen here before,
Many times he was the man du jour…
      But today…different drift,
We’re told how sales did lift…
Good old Noah from the debtor’s door…💰

🗣️Came to words, Noah had quite the flair,
Knew what phrase should be used when and where…
      Wanted language to say,
      “We’re from the USA…
And a National “speak” should appear”…🗣️

      🔠 Education important for sure,
He believed that for us to endure…
We must learn all we could
      So it was understood…
That good grammar we’d need to secure…🔠

📘 So his dictionary would claim his fame,
Webster became a new household name…
Helped him get out of debt,
      Which he’d had with regret…
And a calmer man Noah became…📘

👍🏻 It took many long years to complete,
But it proved to be his greatest feat…
      So today what we see,
      Is a man saying he…
Finally’s gotten back up on his feet! 👍🏻

      • My lines of my limericks now have a line in between. How do I get back the original, as you have here?

        • Helen…Word Press made some sort of change to its format and ever since the posts aren’t showing up as before. I’m only getting mine to work because I’m using an admin feature. If you notice my commentary isn’t the lead off entry any more at a result…I can’t get it to print in any kind of normalcy. I wish I knew how to correct it, but right now I’m still at a loss myself.

          • Thanks Angela. I am not even able to leave a double space between the first and second verse when there is a second verse and when I think I am leaving a double space. Writing paragraphs like this is till ok however.

  2. This Sunday was not all that of a Funday ! The anagrams were good , but one did not make me a GENIUS , and the other one did not let me ENGULF all of them ! The other four were there for me ! The jumble was such a good one about Noah Webster ! I tried Invest In , but that didn’t work , so I really tried , but I just couldn’t see it ! I had to look and I thought it was really good ! After reading all the things that he was known for , I really have a good respect for him ! I’m a little disappointed in myself for not getting it !I can’t wait for tomorrow , Monday to start an undefeated week of jumbles ! Everyone have a good Sunday Funday !!!!!

  3. It was a Sunday Stump for me. Even though I solved 5 anagrams, GENIUS eluded me. But with only two letters used for the puzzle cartoon, I tried to make some words up with the other letters, to no avail. My first thought was WORDS, but none of those letters were in the anagrams. Oh well !!! It was one of my worst Jumble outings, but I’ll bounce back !! Thanks, Angela, for an interesting post. Terry

  4. I thought engulf was ‘fungle’ then too many letters for me to solve the cartoon. At least it’s above zero, +5 here in central Illinois.Have a great day! Chuck.

      • I had looked for the Kids Jumble earlier and was disappointed you had not posted it, but then looking for it later, you didn’t disappoint. Thanks for posting it, I enjoyed solving it. Chuck..

        • YW, Professor. I didn’t forget you…just a crazy day. Glad you enjoyed it. Stay warm 👧🏻👦🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. Hi Everyone – Like my fellow Jumblers, I didn’t come close to getting the answer. I did think of Live as a possible 4-letter word, but it didn’t trigger any ideas for the rest.

    Caroline

  6. Trying to live within his means

    (And always counting beans)

Noah churned out word after word

    Though some thought it absurd

But to him it was just in his genes….

……To define every word that he knew

Wow, the list just grew, grew and grew

And as he scoured every letter

    His finances got better

As the buyers grew to many from few!

  7. Good morning. It took me forever to get all the words. Words 1-6 were solved in this order 2,1,4,5,6,3. As you can see Simile was the last to get. I settled for it not knowing what it meant until I looked it up. I spent so much time on the words that after five minutes on the cartoon I took the high road and went straight for the answer. Loved you song choice Angela and the posts. Today was definitely a learning day. Until tomorrow take care.

  8. I got the words without too many problems. The answer took quite a while. I finally found MEANS, earlier saw LIVE, and WITHIN was left. Hard today.

  9. Well it’s nighttime for you folks east of me but I’m finally posting. Got all the anagrams but just couldn’t come up with the cartoon answer so finally threw in the towel and looked up the answer. Hope you all had a good day. Back at it again tomorrow. Betty
