🥘 They sat and talked about the farm, the FAUNA growing fast,
And celebrated how they got the DONKEY trained at last…
The daily GRIND of farming could turn moods INDIGO,
But they were still determined to deal with ebb and flow
They waited for their meal to come…hot savory dishes stewed…
They loved this little restaurant and all its “INN-DIAN” FOOD…🥘
Hmm…Any reason I should worry about you all solving this one today? …I could ask, “How am I SAMOSA know”?…but TBT, I doubt it. There’s NAAN that I can think of…So get your heads off your PILAUs and let’s CHAAT…
For DOSA you unfamiliar with…but CURRY-ous about…Indian food, you don’t know what you’re missing…Hot, tangy, spicy…right up my alley. And I’ve tried my hand at making a few dishes too…which I’ve served on my fine CHANA…But we’re not here to discuss my cooking prowess…so I’ll just CURRY up and get down to business…so we don’t MASALA the fun…
Today, an IINN-DIAN couple dining at a small INN, a long time favorite of Sanjay’s family, located in Mumbai… http://tinyurl.com/bdezx8ph And it may be Anita’s first time CUMIN here…since as the friendly waiter, HERB (short for his last name, Hebbar), serves their food, the dialogue being CURD seems to be DALing us so…But as far as our solve goes?…Our question’s giving us “meals” = FOOD , “small lodging establishment” = INN and “Mumbai” = INDIA…plus those quotation marks are DISHING out a huge hint to a play on words…So let’s face it, Folks we needn’t GOAT far to get this one…The meals served were …”INN-DIAN” FOOD…And we leave on a CHAI note!
So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe and good KORMA to you all…And again, if you’ve never visited an Indian restaurant, GHEE whiz, MAN,GO…(and that goes for the) LASSI’s too! …I think once you try it, you’ll find it NAAN-negotiable as far as the next THYME goes…And that’s all she ROTI! 🥘🙋🏻♀️

👫🏻 The couple we see here today,
Native Indians…out for the day…
They live in Mumbai,
Dialogue doesn’t lie..
(And Mumbai is the former Bombay😉)…👫🏻
🗣️Sanjay’s saying his family’s dined,
At this place many years…such a find!
He takes Anita there,
Seems she wasn’t aware…
That the restaurant was set inside…🗣️
🥘 And Anita’s impressed we can see,
By the dishes, ‘specially Biryani,
“Looks delicious” she states,
And she hardly can wait…
To eat some along with the curry…🥘
‘👍🏻 Taste of home” is what the waiter claims,
Herb’s attesting it’s the places aim…
To serve meals quite well known,
And the menu has shown…
That the food served is one and the same…👍🏻
🥘 Yes, our diners today seem quite pleased,
With the spices and herbs mixed with peas…
Comes to Indian cuisine,
Which is our puzzle’s theme…
Looks like choosing the right place is key! 🥘

There was no hump to climb over today. Yes, Angela….HUGE !! CLUES !! that even I could see. Saw Mumbai and eating at a small lodging and everything leaped out at me. Unlike you, don’t particularly have a fondness for INN-DIAN food, especially with that music playing…ugh. Enjoy your Hump Day and hopefully we’ll all stay warm and cozy. Terry

I’m not a fan of the music either Terry, I’m sure it’s an acquired TASTE. But it does fit…so…😉 Stay warm out there…🥘🙋🏻♀️

Good morning. No problem with the words and even though I had the first word Fauna spelled correctly I had to look up what it meant. No strawberries or blackberries this morning so my brain might have been bogged down and I gave up on the cartoon answer even after getting the last word. Until tomorrow take care.

I had the same experience as you did Paul. I got the first word but had to look it up to see if it was truly a Word. Had trouble with getting the jumble answer only word I got was food

It is generally understood
That a restaurant is for serving food
But if the ambience is fine
And the meal is divine
Well, that really does set the mood!
But to go all the way to Mumbai
To give Indian cuisine a try?
For food with some curry
There’s no need to worry
Right here it’s in ample supply!

Solved the anagrams and had the ‘food’ part of the cartoon solution but struck out on the Indian reference, so was stumped for a complete cartoon solution. Our central Illinois is having a ‘heat wave’ with a present temperature of +12 rather than -12 like we had earlier in the week.Chuck.

Not a fan of Indian food here but I did get the anagrams and cartoon solution. Small Lodging led to inn and the rest fell into place nicely. Hope all you Midwesterners and East Coasters are staying warm. I get cold just watching the weather report in your corner of the world. Betty
