  1. Yoda he is not! The little guy on the screen is the same species as Yoda, and also shares similar powers, but that’s where their similarities seem to end. His actual name is Grogu, and fans of the “The Mandalorian” streaming series on Disney+ lovingly refer to him as “The Child.” There was a time during the first season of the show that people were calling him “Baby Yoda”, but that was before we learned of his origins and backstory. The other character on the screen, who sort of looks like Boba Fett from “Star Wars,” is actually named Din Djarin. He belongs to a race of bounty hunters called “The Mandalorian” which, coincidentally, Boba Fett from the original Star Wars also belonged. With so many characters looking alike, it’s no surprise this woman is experiencing an extreme case of dèjá “view”!

    There weren’t any new clue words to report this morning, but three of the anagrams just happened to be. The only one we’ve definitely had the pleasure of seeing before was GIWHE. And it just so happens that it was scrambled the exact same way as the last time we saw it on 9/14/19. None of them gave me any trouble, but ENGAAD did require a couple of extra looks before coming into view. After completing the Jumbles, it was interesting to find all of the solved words were arranged in reverse alphabetical order.

    It looks like this couple plans on unwinding by watching an episode of “The Mandalorian” together. The odd thing about the show is that some of the episodes are as short as 25 minutes while others can be as long as 47. It’s quite obvious that he’s much more into the show than she is. It was probably his night to pick the flick. The only thing that seems to be missing are the snacks. Nothing pairs better with a “space western” than a bowl of freshly-popped popcorn!

    The final solve was an anagram consisting of 8-letters. Both the vowel and consonant counts were evenly split at four. The inclusion of the “J” made DEJA stick out like a sore thumb, and VIEW was effortlessly found in the remainder. It was only after I had finished that I noticed all of the letters for VIEW were clumped together in the first half of the layout and the letters for DEJA were in the latter half. Maybe that fact helped those of you that were stymied by the visual clue and/or quotation marks. Have a terrific Tuesday, and keep Jumbling!

  4. This has got to be one of the weirdest Jumbles yet. After struggling through two words that “break the rules” (Y in the middle of a word and A at the end of one), and seeing “Empire” and “Force”, I figured that JEDI had to be part of the solution. Sure enough, the letters for that showed up. But then I got JEDI WAVE, or maybe WAVE JEDI. Is a JEDI WAVE like a Blue Wave in US politics, except for the Galactic Empire instead? So I found all combinations of the 8 letters and came up with only one other possibility, JADE VIEW. These people have seen so many Star Wars pictures that they have become jaded to them. Then I got the BIG surprise when I saw the solution above. DEJA VIEW. Did they try to trick us by including the letters of JEDI in the solution? And DEJA VIEW does not pick up the Star Wars elements of the cartoon. A really strange Jumble.

    The anagrams were the bigger problem for me today. At first I misspelled Vinyl (vynil) and later I had to back into Weigh. For the answer, it helped that I’ve always loved Yogi Berra’s “It’s deja vu all over again,” which I just learned he said after Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris hit back-to-back homers in their race to top Babe Ruth. Got a big kick out of Jim B’s justification for “Jedi Wave.”

  7. Good morning. My choice for hardest word was Vinyl followed by Agenda. The other two were instant reads. It took me like 20-25 minutes to get those first two words. The cartoon answer was almost a blind solve. Once I put down the letters the solution was instant. Thanks Mike on the 10 facts. Imagine the dog making $75 more a week than the little people. That dogs life was pretty good. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

      • …And I was just telling Steve how hard they were to get when they were first hitting the market. Even the pre-orders were sold out. Disney definitely scored with Grogu…The adults fell in love with him along the kids! 🙋🏻‍♀️

  9. No problem w the anagrams or the cartoon solution.We escaped the snow forecast,but our 6 yr old twin granddaughters,Kate and Jane in Dixon after a couple of inches of snow,had their in school private school cancelled for a ‘snow’ day.

    • I hope Kate & Jane enjoy their day off. Snow days were always such a treat!

      Our school has unfortunately done away with snow days. If students are impacted by inclement weather, they’re expected to complete the day virtually from home. Such a bummer!

  10. For some reason I paused at vinyl which doesn’t seem like it should be that difficult to solve. The rest of the words and cartoon answer fell into place nicely. I though “One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest” was just a superb movie- great cast. Hope all of you have a good day.

  11. It’s like deja view all over again! Turned out that ENGAAD wasn’t on my agenda but I had no problem with the other words or the puzzle solution. I am sure NILVY slowed some down because of the non-terminal Y. A nice J day for me. Yesterday’s rain has led to an absolutely great day in LaLa Land. Hope your surroundings are similar……………..

  12. Hi all – AGENDA was the only thing that took me a couple of extra looks.

    I had to take a second look at the answer, because the SF Chronicle printed the format as “DE JA VIEW” with the DEJA split up. The East Bay Times had the format correct. First time I’ve ever seen that – maybe I should find out if there are Jumble collectors like stamp collectors who pay big bucks for printing mistakes!

    I loved the first three Star Wars movies but stopped there, so I never had to suffer through Jar Jar Binks et al.

    • Thanks for confirming that, Steve. Some folks mentioned in the poll comments that DEJA was split into two words, but it wasn’t like that in my newspaper copy or online.

      I already planned on printing/framing this Jumble for “The Mandalorian” drawing, so I guess it wouldn’t be too difficult to add a small photo of both the color version and “error” printing underneath. YES, WE DO EXIST!!! 😂
