  1. Happy Wednesday, everyone! It appears that David stumbled upon a new clue word this morning by using FRANK. It has yet to garner a single vote in the poll so it doesn’t seem to be tripping anyone up. We have seen FRANK-LY used twice before (10/4/80 & 1/16/01) as the solution to the surprise answer though. In hindsight, none of them gave me any trouble which made today’s game a bit easier than both Monday and Tuesday’s offerings.

Our cartoon transports us to Main Street where a mother and daughter have paused their leisurely stroll for a brief interaction with another member of the Jumble community. In the background we see a large sign identifying the business as “Say Cheese!”. The coupons being handed out by the photographer have 4-distinct sections. At the top is the “Say Cheese!” smile logo with the words NO COST all in caps just underneath. Below that is a photograph of 5-people standing and then it’s finished off by the word SITTING. Judging by the size of the flyer, I’d say they were printed on half-sheets of paper making them appropriately 4.25” x 5.5”.

Jeff added a couple of full-size portraits for our perusal just behind the window of the storefront. We saw the one on the right in Monday’s puzzle, and I’m pretty sure we’ve seen the other one at some point as well. It was a fun trip down memory lane, but my favorite detail ended up being the rabbit doll that the girl was holding. That little flower on its shirt gets me every time!

The final solve was an anagram consisting of 13-letters and THE was given to us just like it was in Monday’s game. I happened to pick up on the NO-COST clue in the sentence which brought FREE to mind. The rest of the answer flowed naturally for a leisurely finish. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

  2. Good Morning, Everyone 📸 SAY CHEESE…AND READ THE FINE PRINT 📸

📸 Remember when you took a pic, the one of 24?
And had to finish all of them, then bring them to a store?
A number would be out of FRAME, and let’s be FRANK some sucked,
But there was nothing you could do…you just were out of luck
Once by the time I got some back…an OUTFIT I had on?
I didn’t even own it still…that dress was now long gone…
Today though things are different, we just snap and we can see,
Our pictures quick, in no time flat…they show immediately…
And one by one as they EMERGE, if they’re not looking well?
We simply take them over…it’s an instant show and tell…
So here today there’s coupons…but that easel on the right?
Our family from Monday…Twins…(but no balloons in sight)! 😉
So do you think Mom takes the bait…An album in the making?
Or is she hip to these come-ons? There’s no FREE FOR THE TAKING…📸

Have a good day, Everyone. Be well, stay safe…But keep in mind…The “sitting” may be no cost…but something always seems to DEVELOP when it comes to getting the actual photos…📸🙋🏻‍♀️

….And thoughts and prayers to those in the path of Hurricane Zeta. 🙏🏻

  3. ☕️ To be FRANK, when she finally did EMERGE from the meeting, after having doused her OUTFIT with coffee, she was in such a bad FRAME of mind, that when her boss asked if she’d like to leave, she quickly jumped at the offer FREE FOR THE TAKING…☕️

🧟‍♂️ From out the shadows they’d EMERGE…quite ugly to be FRANK,
These men who lived within the swamp…dirty and smelling dank…
One dressed worse than the other, they would OUTFIT themselves grim,
And the moonlight shone around them, like a FRAME it put them in…
…She sat back from her computer…no more writing ‘til she’s waking…
Tonight, better she quit…lest there’s nightmares FREE FOR THE TAKING…🧟‍♂️

    • Thanks Angela, quite a ride it’s been….. IM already plotting for the Dodgers to trade for Blake Snell, what a pitcher he is!

      • YVW, Mig. I’m just glad I wasn’t in it…my blood pressure goes high enough as it is…(Ooppsss..The nails again…I think it’s time to do something about them). Anyway, it was definitely exciting. And as far as Snell goes…I’d take him here in a NY minute! Have a good one, Mig. Be well, stay safe, and Congrats again…⚾️🙋🏻‍♀️

  4. Good morning on this gloomy drizzling day. I had no problem with either the words or cartoon answer. I came up with the answer once I looked at the letters and saw the “no-cost” family sitting remark from the store owner. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

  5. A Monday easy puzzle on a cold 28 degree Wednesday.Congrats to the Dodgers who clearly benefited by the removal of Snell, who they couldn’t hit at all,in favor of Anderson, who they not only could get hits off of,but scored on .

  6. Hi Everyone –
I also had no problem today. Anagrams that contain “out” seem to come up pretty often.
I wanted to add my congratulations to the Dodgers and their fans. The World Series with all the close game was fun to watch.

  7. Hi all – Got the words. The double letter trick didn’t apply to the T’s, but recognizing the compound OUT-FIT did. Then it was just a matter of choosing whether the last word was EMERGE, MERGER, EMEGRE (sic) or something like that. Thought “JUST THE…” for the answer, but seeing ‘No-cost” in the dialog gave FREE and showed that TAKING was the pun they wanted.

Cute bunny doll! I wonder if there’s a story behind that.

    Good wishes to everyone.

“He was afraid to EMERGE from the dressing room in the OUTFIT he had chosen because, to be FRANK, it was so bad he couldn’t even FRAME it as a Halloween costume.”

  8. Even as a long-time Giants fan, I have no problem congratulating the Dodgers (and Mig!) on a well deserved win. They built the team brilliantly, were clearly superior, and there doesn’t seem to be a jerk in the whole group. And to those of us who weren’t familiar with him, the introduction of Mookie Betts as both a person and a player was a revelation.
Although yes, it does help when the opposing manager pulls his Cy Young winner while he’s *dealing.* I think he deprived all of us of the possibility of a classic Game 7 duel between Buehler and Morton. (Imagine Bruce Bochy pulling Madison Bumgarner – unthinkable!)

Dodgers and Lakers – at least 2020 was good for *something* in LA, Mig!

  9. I EMERGE from all the blue confetti to thank those who mentioned the Dodgers World Series win yesterday, truly a monkey off our back. I think the coaches pulling of Snell will be compared to Pete Carrolls failure to use beast mode Lynch in what became the last play of the Seahawks Superbowl. Snell had a two hitter going and the Dodgers couldn’t do anything with him. Just one of those sports mysteries I guess.
Pretty easy Jumble today so we’ll see what tomorrow brings!
