Jumble Answers for 12/02/2019

Happy Monday, everyone! A quick solve to start the week is never a bad thing. Sometimes it helps you build back up some of the confidence you may have lost after a tough week of solves. A boost of encouragement is often all we need to make our day a little brighter and put us in a really good mood.

Apparently COMPLY is a new clue word being played today. It sounded familiar to me, but my research proved otherwise. The remaining three were all old friends from the past couple of years. All of the anagrams were new but they gave themselves up rather quickly. After all was said and done, I’d choose COMPLY as today’s most stubborn solution.

Warm weather, green grass and spending time outside were all part of today’s cartoon, but after last nights snowstorm they’re things that I won’t see again until next year. 6+ inches of the white stuff has fallen so far with another 4-6″ expected later this afternoon. It does make it start to feel like Christmas though!

This must be a dog park if those pups are off their leashes. The shadowy man in the back has one on his pooch as they take a stroll though. My favorite part of the panel was the action of the dogs jumping up to greet the incoming projectile. The ears on the left dog are sticking up and made him appear as though he was closer to the ball. If you look at the tips of their noses it’s actually a much tighter race. I liked the action lines of the man throwing the ball. You can easily see that he put it behind his head before tossing it.

The final solve was an anagram consisting of 10-letters. I saw UP straight away while GRABS and FOR took a couple of extra seconds to extract. No troubles at all! Have a marvelous Monday, and I’ll see you right back here tomorrow!

  1. Good morning. Thank goodness for Monday’s. Had no problem with both ends of the jumble. A nice recovery from yesterday’s failed attempt. I couldn’t get two words or the cartoon answer. Until tomorrow stay well.

  2. When the police asked the man at the BRUNCH bar to COMPLY with their request to accompany them to the station, he gave a SHRUG and wondered who was trying to FRAME him this time.

  3. Definitely an easy Monday puzzle. No problem w any of the words, not even comply.Same for the puzzle solution,” up for grabs”, though I thought bark or barking might be in the solution, given the b and g in the letters.

    • I definitely see how you thought “bark” might be in there after looking at the layout again, Chuck. Didn’t notice it until you pointed it out though. 🙂

  4. 🤷🏻‍♀️While trying to FRAME the seating arrangement for the company’s BRUNCH, he gave a quick SHRUG when asked if he’d agree to COMPLY with all the stipulations once the job was UP FOR GRABS.🤷🏻‍♀️

🦀 She needed to impress today, this BRUNCH would be the test,
She chose her brightest sweater SHRUG, the one that looked the best…
She wanted to COMPLY with all their mission FRAME stood for,
And after today she hoped that her foot was in the door…
She sat down in the restaurant, the waiter served them crabs…
And splashing with the first crack knew she’d not be UP FOR GRABS…🦀

  5. Easy one today. Agree, Mike, it’s nice to get off to a good start. I got all the words in yesterday’s puzzle but couldn’t come up with the cartoon answer. Hope all you Mid-Westerners and East Coasters are bundled up against the snow and cold. We’re in for a week of rain which is good news. Happy Monday to all.

    • Thanks for the well wishes, Betty. The first round is over but more is expected later this evening. School was canceled today and I expect the same for tomorrow. 🙂

  6. Hi all – Easy one today for the words and answer.

Good wishes to Mike and Angela and anyone else in the path of the storm. I had to shake my head when I read that NYC and southern NH expect “only” 3 inches of snow! (although Duluth did get about 22).
And now I see they were wrong about NH – hang in there Mike! I love your jolly new avatar, but it brings to mind a Mexican general – Santah-Ansah.

Good thing he didn’t toss a casaba or we’d be dealing with a melon collie (Rimshot!)

Angela, “sweater shrug”? I just got “pashmina” down! I hope they don’t jumper while doing the bolero (yes, I looked it up on Wiki, can’t you tell? 😂)

Have a great day everyone (if you can see it through the snow).

“It was a good deal, so he gave a SHRUG and decided to COMPLY with the picture FRAME maker’s request for a first-class BRUNCH as payment.” Angela, I think that’s the place (possibly “La Maison de la Casa House”) that not only tested your poor job applicant with crab, but also put cherry tomatoes in the salad.

    • 3” is a dusting! Unfortunately it’s closer to 6” and the rain that came after made it crazy heavy to shovel. We’re all staying home today so we’re safe.

I hope you like the red background as well. Maybe I’ll switch it up like I did on Halloween and add a graphic. My skills are limited so don’t expect too much! 😂

  7. I think the pun is that the ball is bouncing so high, and the dogs are jumping for it – it’s UP for grabs.
