Starting off what to many of us here in the United States is a 3-day weekend, unlike these guys we meet today, we’re in the clear…No new words to throw us off course, and easy, breezy ones at that. But we are faced with three repeat anagrams, a bit of a rarity. HUTCH, our first, takes the honors as our oldest entry, (03/20/12), but it was also used, as it is today, CUTHH on 06/09/18. Ditto MANLY…I uncovered it as NAYML back on 11/09/18, and DOCTOR’s last been in the house on 01/27/19, but a showing of CROOTD also occurred way back on Thanksgiving Day, 2014. Which leaves us …Yea, that’s the TICKET, our sole new anagram of the day, and also our most recent repeat as of 03/27/19….Phew! So, now that we’ve brushed our way through today’s words…let’s venture deeper…and HACK our way through today’s cartoon….
Jungle fever…if not now…I think it’s pretty GERMane to be happening soon. I have no idea where we are, or why for that matter, but I’ll play the game… SAFARI I can see, we’ve come upon two men lost in the Jungle. APEparantly separated from the rest of their group, we see the two wandering, trying to “cut their way through the Jungle”…and I thicket’s not going well. Armed with only a Machete, they realize that TOUCAN NOT play this game…and this is not something they can take LION down…Battered, bruised, disheveled and obviously not having A-FRICAN good time, they’ve reached the conclusion that this wasn’t the best of ideas, and they’re not getting anywhere, since it’s obvious they COULDN’T HACK IT. Good one, David! You’re a regular CUT UP!…
Ok, eye candy. From the looks of these guys, I think it’s safe to say they’ve been lost for a while now. RHINO one’s out looking for them is beyond me…Or maybe there is a search party out there, but they’re just not CUT out to do the job…I HIPPOs it happens… Anyway, there’s nothing to see in our panel besides our guys and all that Flora. Dark shades of green, with some black, in various shapes. And the guy who appears to be the younger of the two, seems to have lost his Safari hat…what a PITHy…But the detail with the most bite? Amidst all that Flora…you know there must be Fauna…and up above in that tree looming right overhead? It’s a snake. A large, yellow, coiled snake. MAMBA Mia!!! And if you look real closely? He’s grinning…Uh oh...Let us PREY…So, There you are it Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone…And as for me?…SAFARI? I’m not browsing any farther than my iPad! 🗡🙋🏻

I’d be LION if I said that these words were hard to work with, they really weren’t…but they’re not exactly rip-ROARingly made for one another either. But I like the double definition of HUTCH, and I HIPPOs its’ offering up that extra wiggle room made it easier to SEE MY WAY CLEAR…🙋🏻

Good morning. Another fairly easy jumble today. Breezed through the words and on the cartoon answer after my third attempt, that light bulb went off and the answer came to mind. Loved both posts Angela. Liked your song choice but how about a second one being, Stranded In The Jungle. Yours is more upper class “Manhattan” while mines’ lower class “Brooklyn”. My favorite Paul Simon memory happened on “SNL” when he stepped out to sing a romantic song dressed as a turkey. Yes, it was for laughs, but I thought the song & lyrics were so beautiful & heartfelt that if he had continued, the costume would have taken nothing away from it.

Exactly. His falsetto is mind boggling. His breath control too, is so wayyyyy off the charts…And he’s not “that young of a man”,😉….although his voice is exceptional for any age, IMO. I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for them, because they went to High School with some of my Aunts and Uncles…In fact, the school is the Alma Mater of almost everyone in my family..(not me, though..I was sent to Catholic School) 🙄…Anyway, great song. Your dog…Mike, I’m so sorry. I know the pain. You know what I mean, I’m not diminishing yours..just that I’ve shared in it too. Hi all – Surprised to see such an easy puzzle today. Put LY at the end as usual to get ‘MANLY’. Thought the answer was “Couldn’t cut it”, and the layout showed it was HACK.
“Mamba Mia” made me laugh, Angela, and great song choice. I’ll have to throw in a shoutout for Pete Seeger and the Weavers’ version, and I also discovered that Ladysmith Black Mambazo, who worked with Paul Simon on Graceland, had a version also.
But for reaction, I have to give a gold star to Paul today. “Stranded in the Jungle”, WOW! I had COMPLETELY forgotten that one, but as soon as I started listening to it, all the lyrics came back and took me right back. (“I thumbed down a whale who was heading my way” 😂)

LOL! There are no yellow Mambas, but I figured what the hay..,The Tokens led the way for a slue of covers, too many to count. And It’s being introduced once again to another generation with it reappearing in the new Lion King. One of my Littles, one of the 2 years old is singing it already…And as for 🎶Stranded🎶?
