🧠 FINAL SOLVE
The final answer was an 11-letter anagram that solved into a “4” + 7 layout. Our Hump Day puzzle looked a little intimidating at first, but it ended up being a pretty smooth operation. As soon as I read that the man had graduated with a degree in street building, I knew exactly where this one was headed. With the clue words wrapped up in a jiffy, my guess of “ROAD” SCHOLAR appeared before my very eyes to bring this one in ahead of schedule. If today’s puzzle slowed you down, our nudges were the visual of the men constructing the ROAD, as well as the cartoon wording, with STREET giving us ROAD and DEGREE pointing us toward SCHOLAR. ROAD provided the wordplay for the academic achievement of becoming a Rhodes Scholar.
