🍋 Instant A-Peel
Today’s cartoon brings us to a curb where a young girl is getting her lemonade business ready for customers. Her brother seems surprised by all the extra equipment, as she has clearly decided that a simple pitcher and a stack of cups were not enough. With a tap, a light show, and speakers added to the mix, she’s squeezing every last drop of excitement out of the setup. This little operation is determined not to blend into the background.

➤ THE BROTHER CHECKS IT OUT
The brother is looking over the lemonade stand. He has short hair, is wearing a short sleeve T shirt, and is pointing with his left hand toward what he believes is his speaker.
➤ THE GIRL POWERS IT UP
The girl has her hair pulled back in a ponytail and is wearing a short sleeve shirt. She is holding a pair of alligator clips, one in each hand, while working next to a battery. It appears she is getting ready to add power to the stand.
➤ THE STAND AND THE SETTING
The stand has a LEMONADE banner across the top, outlined with small bulb lights, and there is a speaker mounted on each side. A tap for dispensing lemonade sits at the front with a lemon emblem on it and a drip plate underneath, and a stack of cups is set nearby. The front panel reads FRESH LEMONADE ON TAP. The stand is set in the grassy strip between the sidewalk and the roadway, and the background shows more grass along with an intersecting street.
🧠 FINAL SOLVE
The final answer was an 8-letter anagram that solved into a 5 + 3 layout. Our first puzzle of the week got us off on the right foot with a quick solve to build a little confidence. I couldn’t get the answer by looking at the cartoon and layout alone, but once the clue words were solved, STAND was immediately obvious. With those letters crossed out, OUT was staring right back at me to finish things off. Of course, when the puzzles begin this smoothly, it usually means we’ll have our work cut out for us before the week is over. If today’s puzzle slowed you down, our nudges were all the extra additions to the lemonade STAND, including the lights, speakers, theme song, and tap, which were meant to make her business STAND OUT.
