☕ Hot Take

Today’s cartoon drops us into a coffee shop where the morning ritual is not just the caffeine, it’s the complaining. One guy is already fired up, squinting at his newspaper and going off about how small the print is. The waitress isn’t buying it for a second, reminding him he says the same thing every day, yet still finishes them. Meanwhile, the other guy casually asks for the sports section like this whole routine is just part of the show. Some people don’t wake up until that first cup hits, and for others, the day doesn’t really begin until the grumbling starts brewing.

🔎 Jumble Jeff’s Jems

➤ THE COMPLAINER

The man on the left has thinning hair with a comb over and wears square framed glasses. He holds a steaming cup of coffee in his left hand while gripping a newspaper in his right. The open page shows multiple puzzles including Sudoku, Jumble, and Boggle, with the Jumble section displaying a final solve layout of “5 + 5”.

➤ THE TABLEMATE

The second man has thinning hair with a comb over and a mustache, wearing a collared shirt as his cup is being filled. A sugar dispenser sits on the table just to his left.

➤ THE WAITRESS

The waitress stands beside them wearing a collared uniform with a name tag. She holds the cup in her left hand while pouring coffee with her right. She wears glasses and has a single earring visible on her left ear.

🧠 FINAL SOLVE

The final answer was a 13-letter anagram that would solve into a “7” + 6 layout. The way the cartoon answer read I figured coffee or a word associated with coffee would get things rolling. Sure enough, all the F’s and E’s pointed me to COFFEE leaving MOAN and the -ING suffix for the finish. If today’s puzzle slowed you down our nudges were all the coffee being poured front and center as well as him being clearly identified as a constant complainer.
