CARTOON ANSWER:

PASS
JUDGMENT

WELCOME BACK,
PUZZLE PLAYERS!

CATCH YOU LATER

Today’s cartoon drops us onto a field where a group of kids are playing flag football. One coach is impressed that the young QB has completed most of his throws, while the other already thinks they might have found their starter. You can see the boy lining up a pass, eyes locked on the receiver who’s a step away from being open. Even with all the early promise, the coaches know you have to see more than one practice before you make a real call.

➤ This is a flag football game as shown by the flag belt each boy is wearing around his waist.

➤ You can see the determination on the QB-to-be’s face, as he bites his tongue while lining up his throw.

➤ Both kids and coaches are wearing shorts and T-shirts.

➤ The coach on the left is wearing a hat, square-frame sunglasses, and a whistle. He’s giving a thumbs-up with his right hand.

➤ The coach on the right is holding a clipboard in his right hand while pointing to it with the index finger of his left. He’s dressed in a collared shirt, shorts and a whistle around his neck.

➤ A single cone marks part of the field boundary, and small tufts of grass show the texture of the playing surface.

🧩 Final Solve 🧩

The final answer was a twelve letter anagram that solved into a 4 + 8 layout. The J and the U had me thinking the first word would be JUMP, but the rest of the letters would not form anything that made sense. It finally clicked when I noticed the boy getting ready to throw the ball. The P produced PASS, and the rest of the answer came together with ease.
